Someone needs to make an audio track for the Mario movie that's the Japanese audio except they retain Jack Black as Bowser. I'd watch that. Anyway, (dramatic music)~ I'd wonder what this reminds me of but I think this is just a generic popular 90s-00s guitar sound lol. Complete with strings and everything. I'm well aware of it but I think most people can forget that comedy music can still be musically sound. I think I'd probably rather listen to the number of songs this imitates but it does, it takes a lot of skill to both entertain people and have the musical skill to back that up.

Purple Disco Machine, Kungs - Substitution

Cold brew coffee is less bitter because the acids present in coffee don't oxidize that way.

Alien possessed guy is looking for a new lover to have possessed. A good beat all throughout and I'm enjoying the electronic strings as well. More great music from the Purple Disco Machine.

Michael Abel - The Run (Urban Legends)

The night scenes in Nope were done with a new technique to film day as night that doesn't eliminate the visibility for the audience. Very appropriate considering the overall themes in the film.

Moonlight Ladykiller

I'm sure the title helps in this instance, but the way it starts with the somewhat discordant staccato notes, it really makes it feel like something is wrong and we gotta GO. Definitely supported by the low horns coming in like that. The heart pounding percussion putting a tail cap on it would support either getting away from the pursuer... or coming to a different sort of end.

Night Safari - Temma Matsunaga

Crabs protect their own emotion_kirakira
When stingrays come to eat crabs that have recently molted, the soft shelled crabs do their best to hide amongst their harder shelled community. That part feels like a given. But the cool part is that the hard shelled crabs will intentionally form piles around their vulnerable friends.
In this video you can even see them accepting and protecting a crab robot that survived a scrape with a stingray after sheltering a crab itself. emotion_brofist

I was expecting weird because Matsunaga but I guess he does grooves too. Which his vocal tone suits, though I prefer when he's being weird rofl. I feel like he mostly gets regarded as a vocal foil to Hamasaki within Urbangarde. I'm definitely a fan of "ugly" vocals at times so his voice is a treat to me. The song itself could be boring but the way Matsunaga's vocals are presented keeps it from ever going that way. There's just something to the way they double track/filter his voice that makes it resonate in an unusual way that really suits his image and presentation as an artist.

RHYMESTER - My Runway feat. Rei
step one two three four five POSE
Boo no video yet. Only song. I'd like to see me from stopping me from posting it again when there is, though!

Honestly I'm impressed that crab fortresses are a thing. Everything is crab! Everything becomes crab!

That's one funky disco beat. Makes me wish I had even more bass capability on my headphones; vibrate my teeth out with that beat! This is one that is hard to feel bad when you're listening to this one. Indeed, you are a superstar! Love to hear more and have this blasting in the car while driving.

OTYKEN - STORM

The largest crab in the world is the giant Japanese Spider Crab, which can measure up to 13 feet across.

Oh, are they going to set up a yur--Nope, that's drums!
Are we going east?
I really enjoy the throat singing. Always a treat when it comes up. As it is when musicians make an honest effort to incorporate traditional instruments and techniques into new music. This doesn't disappoint!

Rina Sawayama - STFU!

I would be remiss if I didn't bring up "crabcore" while on the subject of crabs and music. Not defined by a specific style, but by guitarists doing wide stance squatting while playing guitar on stage. Though now unfortunately it feels like the meme is "dead" since it got embraced to the point that there is a band that specifically dresses in crab costumes. I completely missed this meme when it originally crabbedopped up.

Rina Sawayama gives no shits. She's been in the news lately for calling out a racist nepo manbaby and she dedicated this song to him. The intro is so tedious and annoying but so necessary lol. Most people don't get that racism isn't just shouting slurs at the top of your lungs and burning crosses. I forgot that the dumbass' speech includes Kill Bill rofl. That she has to listen to this bullshit and still be polite about it is infuriating. With her music I expect it to be more heavy on lyrics than melody. Which isn't bad, but more that she basically does whatever genre she wants while maintaining the passionate lyrics she's known for. It probably would've been satisfying to see her kick this guy's a**. But not doing that is kinda more satisfying to me, like she's saying "You know what? It's not about you, and you don't get to define me."

And I honestly and truly happened to be listening to (again), as promised:
RHYMESTER - My Runway feat. Rei
Now with video and pose instruction!

The phrase "bread and circuses" dates back to roman times and unfortunately has nothing to do with crabs.

It's back with a video! Still a great song to listen to on repeat. Now with the visuals added it becomes even more of a party tune. Everyone has great style that fits nicely with being instructed to step one, two, three, four, five, pose!

サカナクション / 蓮の花

Coconut crabs have a habit of collecting things that don’t belong to them. They’ve been found lumbering off with saucepans, whiskey bottles, shoes, watches, and plenty of other items, leading to their nickname “robber crabs”.

Gah! Spider!
Too chill for giant spiders *head shake*
Despite the spider, this does make me feel nostalgic for road trips. It's been so long since I've traveled anywhere far away.
The feeling of bored, ramping up to occasional loopiness from the monotony of it all. Someone in the car will say something that just strikes you. It's only funny in the car. Happy to get out of the car to stretch your legs, even just for a rest stop.
Ah, the ending reminds me of when my father named a tiny spider that looked like that one. Named it "Iago" and would leave it caps full of water. ...And shooed it away from his sipping bourbon.

Beheading prison club - Why is the weather so bad today?

The FDA recently approved a new kind of drug to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s. surprised This is surely good news. Though hopefully more drugs come along with fewer risks. This new one creates an antibody that clears away beta amyloid protein that accumulates in the brains of people with Alzheimer’s.
The downsides are that there is an increased risk of swelling and bleeds. sweatdrop But if it's my only choice by the time I need it, I'll still take that risk.

It's fast paced, relatable, and generally high energy. I'm also familiar with another one of their songs about not wanting to get out of bed because it's cold. It's a neat song, I like it.

Growing Wings - Drakengard 1 OST

Did you know that in the Shadow of the Colossus community there is a fanmade remake being made that includes all of the beta content, including the cut bosses? It's called Beyond the Forbidden Lands and it's being created with the help of volunteers.

Been ages since I played this one. Hopefully Square will allow a remake/remaster to be made since they went ahead with Replicant. Anyway, the song is very discordant and uneasy like the story itself. The lyrics fit with the story being told across the multiple endings, but out of context it isn't anything that could just be listened to on its own. Not bad, but I do wonder if there is a remake if they won't have Okabe do the music.

Gorillaz - Tomorrow Comes Today

There are two breed of alpacas, the huacaya and the suri. The huacaya have fluffy hair, much like a teddy bear. The suri have long wavy hair that hangs off its body.

I totally didn't remember how this song sounds until I remembered the video lol. It's kinda crazy that Gorillaz is old enough to have legitimate trip hop tracks. And the forced harmonica of their debut album lol. Like I don't know how to describe it even though I was there, but it very much feeds into that laid back low down 00s aesthetic and feel that was super in at the time. Tons of denim and thrifted clothes. It's definitely not a song I go out of my way to listen to but it isn't bad. Maybe it's the melody construction and how it's kinda repetitive but it definitely feels like a shorter song than it is.

DISCO VOLANTE - FEVER

Shu Uemura did a collab with Yokohama Ryusei and it's kind of incredible? Has an actor known best for a sentai role done a high profile cosmetics collab before?

Moonlight Ladykiller

surprised They look punk, but put into suits. With such a laid back musical style that fits their buttoned down wardrobe.
I'm not much for blue, but that is a beautiful D'Angelico double cut hollow body. emotion_kirakira
The song finished, but it felt like it was nowhere near long enough, somehow. I didn't want to stop listening to it.

Worthikids - Wire

One of the cocktail channels I watch from time to time posted recipes for homemade green and yellow Chartreuse! I haven't had any of the original varieties, since I've only gotten into cocktails relatively recently. Technically I don't know what I'm missing, but I would still like to try some. They sound interesting.

I've seen this video before, and I really like the song in it.
It's got a nice heavy feel to it.
It's beautifully choreographed to the animation, too.
Shadow of the Colossus OST - In Awe of the Power to Counterattack

Did you know that snow leopards can't roar? They don't have the elasticity in their vocal chords that other members of the panthera genus do, and because of that, instead of roaring, they make this yowling sound.

This takes me back to playing this game for the first time. The music definitely enhanced the experience and the game would not have been the same if they had gone with a different style. This one being two songs - one after the other - make for a good fit together. There is an emphasis on strings over all of the other groups that works for these battles where the colossi are always moving with their own flow. Until you brutally stab them in the sigil, that is.
