Shadows seem to thicken in their presence. Some Infernalists cultivate entire demonhound packs, feeding them on serfs, enemies, and careless travelers. Others have them guard worship sites or private chambers. No matter how it may appear, however, no human actually commands a demonhound; the spirit inside only bid their time, awaiting a signal from their true infernal masters...

Welcome. The above excerpt was borrowed from the Vampire: Dark Ages book by White Wolf Game Studio. The pet will be loosely based off the Demonhounds from the Dark Ages in background. However, in personality and plot, they may be nothing like the Demonhounds you might have come to know in the storytelling game.

Here, Demonhounds are demonic beasts sent from Hell to cause havoc in the world. However, they enter the world as pups which means they are found by humans and depending on the love they receive and how they are played, they may evolve to become normal pets, perhaps angelic pets, and in some cases, if their true demonic forms are brought out, they will become demonic pets. It's all in how you treat your pet.

June 16 08 :: Cleaned out the old news, made a thread for it here, and grew pets that were long overdue. I apologize for this, I was on hiatus due to life with little warning. u.u;; There will be stuff coming up soon.

General Rules

6. No giving away or selling of pets without permission.

Colorist Rules
1. No altering lineart without permission.
2. You can keep all profits you make
3. If you want to auction or work on a special, ask first.
4. You make make a couple pets for yourselves, for free.
5. You may give one pet to a friend, for free.
6. You may sell up to four pets per flat sale. (One sale per week)
7. You may accept up to two breeding requests per week.

Stages

[Infant]: The infant stage is usually when you'll first receive your pet. They are shy but curious and cannot speak. They try to make their point across with movements. At this point, they are all innocent and pure.

[Child]: The children stage is when personality starts coming in. You can have your child nice, mean, sarcastic, rude, friendly, whatever you choose. Children can speak well and often disregards rules.

[Teen]: The teen stage is where your demonhound starts realizing what he is. They realize that they are powerful and important creatures with the purpose to bring misery to the world. Depending on the hounds previous personality, this can cause personal conflict. At the teen stages, the hounds start noticing the opposite sex and forming relationships. They cannot breed though, until they reach adulthood.

[Adult]: The adult stage is the final evolution for most DemonHounds. They have achieved their ultimate power and have made a decision about themselves and their duty. Some may choose to walk the path of evil, some may choose to walk the path of good, and some may choose to stay neutral. The good demonhounds and the evil demonhounds will naturally dislike one another so this can generate some fun drama. Adulthood is also when your demonhound can mate and breed.

Races

[Regular]: The regular Demonkin are posted above. They can be both good or evil and have a range of many personalities. They are strong and very fast on land. They can also manipulate fire and have fire magic.

[Angelic]: Some males females that have shown a truely pure heart may find themselves evolved to a higher evolution, the angel demonhound. Though they can never shake off the demonhound race name, they do prove that there's nothing demonic about them. They can fly and gain water magic. This stage is gender neutral so same lineart is used for both.

[Demonic]: Some males and females that have shown a truely evil heart may find themselves evolved to a higher evolution as well, the grand demonhound. They gain demonic wings and horns, are able to fly and gain lightning magic. Both higher evolutions are very rare. This stage is gender neutral so same lineart is used for both.

[Halfbreeds]: Halfbreeds are very rare. They can only be produced when a Demonic and Angelic Demonhound are bred together. Some may be auctioned on the side but for the most part, they will remain rare. This stage is gender neutral so same lineart is used for both. Please note that if an angel or demon breed with a regular, the babies do come out as regular. Both Angelic and Demonic rare blood is needed for the Halfbreeds.

Familiars

There are two sets of familiars. The following two are free. That means that one of them, (it's random) will come with your demonhound pet. A familiar will grant the pet an extra ability of some sort.

[Parrotah]: The Parrotah will grant the demonhound vision of the skies. This means that the hound will be able to see what the Parrotah sees as if he/she is flying with her, even though the hound will really be on the ground. They make good hunting partners as well.

[Usagiita]: The Usagiita has the ability to burrow underground and spy on enemies. The rabbit familiar is also good at reaching hard to get to locations and has a knack for disarming possible hunter traps and the like. They are basically little rogues.

The two other familiars, listed below, are only available if purchased extra or a custom Demonhound is purchased which automatically comes with the choice of any one of the four familiars. The Foxx familiar will cost 3k and the Kitteh familiar will cost 5k, the are pricey in hopes to keep them rarer.

[Foxx]: These familiars allow the demonhound to run twice as swiftly, making them near impossible to catch by the regular demonhounds. They are also very keen and alert, able to see in the night as well.

[Kitteh]: The familiars known as Kitteh allow the demonhound the ability to fly for a limited time. This ability can come in handy during tricky situations. They are also wonderful fishers as well as hunters. They are the most loyal of the familiars.

Prices

Flatsales: Flatsale price will vary based on the stage sold. Adults, since it's just one lineart colored will be cheaper, whereas a baby, which involves four linearts total will be more costly. Flatsales come with a random Parrotah or Usagiita.

Infants: 6k
Children: 5k
Teens: 4k
Adults: 3k

Customs: Customs involve a choice of up to three colors and the option of designs as well. Owners may choose gender as well. No lineart alterations for this. Custom demonhounds come with a choice of any of the four familiars as well. Customs will generally come in the adult form.

Regular Customs
Simple [A few colors, and simple blends] :: 8k adult / 12k pup
Medium [A few colors, simple patterns like stripes or spots or single simple mark] :: 10k adult / 14k pup
Hard [Many colors and more 1 detailed pattern or several easier patterns [stripes AND spots or patches and a pattern which may cross over] :: 12k adult / 16k pup
Complex [Many colors and detailed patterns - think major tribal/celtic designs and major detailed patterning otherwise] :: 15k adult / 20k pup

((I doubt anyone WILL commission soemting I consider complex unless you're doing full-body tribal or celtic or something REALLY crazy like rainbow with a pattern on it in more then one or two spots... translation: The harder it gets, the more it costs because the more work I have to do.))

Rare-Race Comissions
On rare occasions a rare-race comission spot may open - however angelics and demonics are reserved mostly for auctions or the occasional flatsale. To get a custom, you need to nab the spot. Pricing works the same as above, for the following prices - note they ARE higher in order to encourage rarity. These are special races.

Angel/Demon
Simple :: 20k adult / 24k pup
Medium :: 22k adult / 26k pup
Hard :: 24k adult / 28k pup
Complex :: 27k adult / 32k pup

Half-breed
Simple :: 50k adult / 55k pup
Medium :: 53k adult / 58k pup
Hard :: 56k adult / 62k pup
Complex :: 60k adult / 70k pup

Cosplay Customs
Cosplays are based on characters, and due to the nature of the hound SOME details may be impossible to replicate into the hound but I will certainly try. If I feel it just can't be done, we will discuss it. Note that certain character I may deny due to me liekly already planning them. Only ONE of any character may exist.

You may chose the base race for the cosplay, however the rarer the race involved, the more expensive. Also, prices are base - if I feel the commission is extremely complex, I may change the price, but will let you know before work begins - some characters are insane to duplicate and require much more work. Some I may actually decide cost less then the current price and I will let you know, but likely that will be rare.

[Anyone who knows my work knows I will go through and put as much as I can into every cosplay I can fit, so you will get your money's worth. Prices are deemed due to the amount fo work involved editing, and also partly to discourage large amounts of cosplay requests.]

Regular DemonHound base :: 40k
Angel or Demon base :: 90k
Half-Breed base :: 125k

Breeding: Breeding is fairly simple. Two offspring come from each breeding, one to go to each parent. If you own both parents, you keep both offspring. The genders are random. It's a surprise. You do not know what you're going to get! The babies wil come with a free Parrotah or Usagiita familiar as well.

The price is per parent - so if 2 people own the hounds it's 4k each per regular, or 8k if one person owns both hounds. If an angelic and regular breed, it's 10k total, so average the cost. If 2 angelics or demonics breed, it's 12k total. Half-breeds will breed at Normal cost due to the fact they will not produce special children.

Normal Breeding: 4k
Angelic/Demonic Breeding: 6k

A quick rundown of the cards parts.

[Name]: The name fo the DemonHound.
[DoB]: When it was born, or otherwise created.
[Personality]: How it behaves.
[Alignment]: Good, Neutral, or Evil.

[Sex]: Gender of it.
[Gen]: Generation of it.

[Demon]: Owner of it.
[Colorist]: Whoever colored the current stage on the card.

01. Um, didn't Meeki own this shop?
Yes, she did, she created all the original information, and hired Teckno and [ Charrys ] to help color the demonhounds for the shop.

02. Didn't Teckno and [ Cherrys ] own it then?
Yes. Meeki gave the shop to them as co-owners some time around March.

03. Then how the hell did Mintaka get the shop?!
I was talking to teckno one day and mentioned the DemonHounds since I still wanted to get one after losing the thread before... the co-owner had life issues, and had a backlog of work to take care of regarding those growings, etc. I offered to help, which in turn resulted in me becoming a co-owner of a fashion. We started a breeding colorist hunt, and the shop went on a small hiatus. Some interest was remaining, etc. and I asked Teckno what was up since it'd been awhile. He then handed the shop voer me to take care of. I've told him whenever he desires comes back it's open to him to return to. <3

04. Oh, okay. can I have one?
Sure - check for flatsales, custom availability, etc. Don't harass owners, and don't beg. And no, no freebies. I don't do freebies for random strangers anyway, and I tend only to consider it for a close friend only. Patience will net you a flatsale, or some other means to aquire one.

05. Mine was colored by ___ and isn't an adult. What should I do?!
I'm currently handling all growings. Please state where your pup came from [flatsale, breeding] and if it was a breeding, if you could share the parents as well, it'd be wonderful. In all cases I need to see the cert. If you've LOST it.... we'll negotiate. If I can confirm the existence, we'll do something. I don't want people tricking me however with this clause for a freebie. stare

06. Oh, oh, I have something not here I want to ask!! What should I do?
Please ask in the thread - Mintaka will get to you as soon as possible. If you're really that scared, PM DemonHounds (or post in thread), and Min will get to you as soon as she can.

07. How long will it take for ___ to get done?
As long as it takes me; I do, much to some annoyance at times, have a life, and that has to come first. And I am forgetful, although I'm working on means to remind me every day what I need to do, time still can be an issue. But I will try to get to things as promptly as possible, but a soft reminder poke every 2 weeks to a month never hurts. Just don't badger me every day - I'll take longer if you do. stare It's rude.

While DemonHounds do not necessarily mate for life, they can have multiple litters with the same other DemonHound multiple times. DemonHound pairings must be of opposite genders to reproduce - same-sex simply cannot have babies on their own.

They do require at least one month after having pups before they may have another litter. They generally prefer that thier last litter is adults before they consider more children however, and a pairing will result in two children of random gender.

Please note Angelic/Demonic/Halfbreed children will not show their traits until adulthood!

Mated Pairs
Hounds which are in love and devoted to one another may be registered as a mated pair. While this means they no longer may breed outside fo their mate, it does mean they cre likely to have more then 2 pups on occasions when they do have children.

The Loved Ones

The Watched Ones
You've done something - rule infraction, or otherwise caused some reason to be watched. While you won't lose your pets, you are going to be watched closely, and perhaps denied buying future DemonHounds until you redeem yourself. Don't break rules, be nice and you'll be removed.

The Damned Ones
Those here are no longer welcome in the shop at all, and any non-plot DemonHounds will cease to exist. The shop will repossess any 'plot' pets and determine a fate for them [not resold!]. Likely the pets will all simply cease to exist. If you're here you either kept breaking rules form the Greylist, or more likely, broke a majorly serious rule right fof that was unredeemable.

Sonata Storm (and any mules of her) - banned completely for various infractions. Long-standing ban.

Yes, you may RP in the thread - I won't bite you for doing it. Just please don't do so around flatsale times, please, until I say so, or all the carding is done, etc.

Roleplay Incentive
Something I wanted to implement I finally will. People who RP their hounds extensively and well will be considered for an evolution. By evolution I mean regular hounds may become demonic or angelic based on alignment and how they behave. [Sorry, no half-breed evos, it's just not possible.] The requirements are going to be at least a few months of steady RP [1-2 times a week min.] with a definite elineation of which direction they are tending - more evil means demonic, and more good means angelic - note that note hounds which are already good aor evil are already determined on their path.

Also, for Demon/Angel hounds, RP may gain some other bonus, be it an item, extra/upgrade on familiar, or something more. [RP'd mates may also gain a bonus pup or two when they mate! But only if they become a permanently mated couple.]

These are little sometimes to encourage and reward owners who DO RP actively - RP is loved, but as always is NOT a requirement.
