SOSCorp, or the Speed of Sound Corporation started out as "Nu*Soundz," which was Thalassan's debut into Requests and Commissions. He had never seen music commissions done before, so he started out with this auction set to see how it would turn out. Nu*Soundz was a surprising success, with a first auction hitting an AB of 200k in about 30 minutes after the auction opened, and a second round of the auction ABing at 420k the following day.

Later, Thalassan opened up his Music Shop, calling it "Speed of Sound," which enjoyed success until the forum code update of June 2005 swallowed it whole.

Speed of Sound Reopened in late June, though, with a more professional format and a range of new services offered.

Soon thereafter, Speed of Sound expanded to incorporate an Avatar Art Shop, and a Website Design Shop, which prompted the formation of the Corporate Alliance that is today known as "SOSCorp."

SOSCorp is just getting organized as a full blown corporation, so there isn't much to update on right now.

Soon, I'll be selecting an executive board to help run the corporation. The criteria for being an executive board member is that you run a business that is a member of SOSCorp or have demonstrated your leadership abilities to me in some other manner.

What do I have to do to join SOSCorp?

You simply fill out the form and post it in this thread. I'll visit your shop, and if it looks legitimate, I'll assign you a license number and make an SOSCorp license for your shop, as well as link you in the Corporate Directory. You have to display your license and link back to SOSCorp HQ with this:

Do I have to pay a membership fee or give SOSCorp a cut of my earnings?

You do not EVER have to pay us ANYTHING. Your earnings are your earnings! We'd certainly like to have an idea of what you're earning, though 3nodding That way we can have an idea of exactly how much the SOSCorp alliance makes all together.

Why should I join?

Joining SOSCorp will give you the oppurtunity to participate in massive group SOSCorp auctions in the future, as well as have your shop linked in the Corporate Directory. There will also be volunteer bumpers that will use the directory and help bump the shops listed. Also, because it's fun and uberneat and you should just join because you don't have anything to lose by it whee
