~ Rules ~

1. Follow all Gaia rules and all of these rules. Otherwise I'll kick you out, with no refund.
2. No art theft. Do not copy, edit or redistribute any of my images. They belong solely to my friend ElkiLiger and me. I keep detailed records of everything, and if you are caught, you will be banned from Gaia and put on the black list. We put a lot of effort into getting this shop up, don't ruin it for us.
3. In regard to reservations... If there is a flatsale on and you don't have enough gold, you may reserve a dragon providing the gold trade is sent within 2 days. Otherwise, bump a lot and keep me updated on your gold amount or your dragon will be back on sale! If you are going to be away when a flatsale is on and want a dragon, send a trade and give me 1-3 colour preferences. Or you could just wait for the next flatsale.
4. Be patient. Nagging doesn't speed things up. They slow things down because I have to bother replying to nagging and telling you not to nag. Don't PM nags.
5. Don't hesitate to ask questions. Post or PM them.
6. Please chat in this thread to bump it. 'Bump' is okay, buy chatting is much nicer.
7. Please host your dragon when it is an ADULT ONLY. You can use the code from the egg, and the image will automatically change when growings occur until it becomes an adult, when you must find your own server. If your dragon evolves, you will have to host that as well. See pick up for details.
8. Don't whine and beg for one. Get more gold!
9. I have the right to deny anyone a dragon, take away a dragon with or without a refund, and change these rules and other stuff too.
10. No swearing, cybering, flaming or posting anything above Pg-13 content in this shop.
11. Be nice to me and everybody else, and don?t harass anyone. If you are having a problem with someone, PM me.
12. You generally cannot get a refund unless you are grey listed and want out of the thread. But don't be afraid to ask, but remember, no means no.
13. Feel free to post suggestions.
14. You can PM me if you like, even for just a random chat, but don't flood my inbox please. Don't PM Orders. If I miss your order, post with a reference to the page number of quote your order. If I keep missing them (unlikely), you can PM me then.

~ FAQS ~

Q. Do I have to read ALL the rules and FAQS?
A. Yes, that's why they're here. I've made the important parts of the rules red to help you out. A lot are common sense rules though. Some FAQS are mentioned elsewhere as well, but they are here to keep information organised.

Q. How many dragons can I have?
A. As many as you like, as long as you roleplay and hang around the shop a little. Otherwise, the maximum is 5.

Q. So I have to roleplay to breed?
A. Your dragons do need to have a relationship before they breed, but at the moment the shop is too small for people to find someone to roleplay with them, and some owners own both parents. So, in order to breed you must post in the thread occasionally and roleplay a little, but otherwise no for the moment. If you don't roleplay or are new to the shop and want to breed straight away, you can, but this will decrease the amount of eggs.

Q. I'm bad at roleplaying and want to breed my dragons. Is there anything else I can do?
A. Yes. Post in the shop frequently to show your interest, and write a story about your dragons. See below for details.

Q. How can dragon's evolve?
A. Currently, dragons cannot evolve. However, it is believed that they will be able to some time in the future. Tests are still underway, which is why the Evolve Potion is currently unavailable. The other way to evolve a dragon is if you are involved in the shop a lot by chatting, you roleplay a lot and write a few stories about your dragons. You should also have at least 3 dragons for one of them to evolve. We still don't know how dragons evolve though.

Q. Can our dragons fight?
A. No. Not at the moment, anyway. Dragons can argue with each other, and dragonets can playfight, or bite tails etc. Adult dragons may fight if they are fighting over a female or land, or if they are protecting their young, but this should be rare. It must be decided by both roleplayers before the fight begins, and there are to be NO deaths. Unless it's in a story, it's best to steer clear of serious fights.

Q. Why are all the dragons different sizes and their names in different places?
A. I cert each dragon manually. That means they may be resized and positioned slightly differently. Sometimes their wings or antennae are slightly different as well. Also, adults take up a lot of the cert, so their names are put wherever the text fits. Adults with Dragonic Wings are also smaller because their wings take up a lot of room.

Q. How big is my dragon?
A. They are 400x300 pixels each, including the certs. With the normal background and minimal items, they are around 30KB. With cert backgrounds etc they can be around 50KB. The maximum limit for your sigs is 500x500 and 100KB.

Q. I want more than 1 dragon in my sig.
A. To do this you may either resize your dragon to 250x188 to put 4 in your sig, or 333x250 to put 2 in, or you may opt for an image randomiser. Try www.cutandpastescripts.com and create an account, then go to the members lounge and go to random images. Put in the image codes for each of your dragons. You will be given some HTML code. PM it to me and I will change it to BBS code.

Q. What are the plans to expand the shop?
A. If there is much interest in the shop and I get more gold, I will purchase a guild for us. I am looking to create the following: more breeding slots of different kinds, pets for your dragons, giving the option for the dragon's tail to be aflame, and maybe even giving the dragons stats and making a battle arena, and making armour for them. Turning the monthly special into a donation letter where you can choose 1 of 2 items. I also want to get the Evolved form created, and I'm thinking of making an Ultimate Form. If you have more ideas, feel free to post them. If you want to help make this real, simply donate to the shop and get more customers.


~ Roleplaying ~

Roleplaying is optional, but encouraged. It is required for breeding for evolving unless you have enough gold for an Evolve Potion, which is expensive. Roleplaying can be done in the roleplaying thread. You may have basic roleplaying here (feel free to post your dragons randomly), but don't launch into a full roleplay in the shop. Just pet them and admire each other's dragons and chat. It is encouraged that baby dragons roleplay here.

*Alternative to roleplaying: instead of roleplaying, you may opt to write a story about your dragons. Just make a thread in the breedable/changing pets roleplay forum, then PM/post the link in here and I will link it up. It should contain a beginning, middle and end, as well as a good plot. They should be well written with correct spelling and grammar, and the focus should not be on the pair of dragons you want to breed, but a good storyline and the personalities of your dragons. Aim for at least 500 words. You should also include some occasional basic roleplay in the shop or roleplaying thread.

~ Rules ~

1. There is no limit to amount of times breeding can occur, but the previous clutch must be adults before either parent can breed again.
2. Dragons can breed as adults and evolved only. 1 male and 1 female at either of those stages is required. Evolved dragons can breed with normal adults. If you have two that are the same gender, buy a gender swap potion.
3. You don't have to roleplay to breed, however dragons that do roleplay are more likely to have more eggs.
4. Dragons can have any number of mates. However, male dragons should breed with no more than 6 constantly, and females should only have one or two mates. The more mates, the less eggs.
5. Dragons take time to breed. It may be quick, but it may not. They have short gestation periods, usually no longer than 3 weeks. Some can even be born the same day!
6. Dragons generally have 3 eggs. As a general rule, the more roleplaying, the more eggs. Larger clutches can occur on rare occasions. No less than 2 eggs and no more than 6 will occur. First time mothers usually have less, and if they have a new mate there may also be a decrease in clutch size. If the partners were friends as children, this often helps.
7. Do not breed closely related dragons. This means no immediate family.
8. You cannot sell dragons. You can however opt for 1 dragon (clutch of 3 or more) to be given back to me to be put on flatsale, and you will receive a gift of your choice for one or two eggs, as long as the item is less than 1k in value. That means you and the other dragon's owner may each buy a 500g item for one of their eggs.

Parents may sort out costs and can decide on who gets which egg (you get to choose). If you cannot sort it out, just ask me and I'll see if there is a fair way to divide the eggs.

You can see your clutch in the pick up area. The code will only be placed there once decisions have been made and posted about who keeps which eggs.

~ Genetics ~

Baby Dragons will probably have characteristics of both parents, and may have other characteristics. Mutations may occur, and dragons may have features that neither parent has.

~ Baby Gift ~

On some occasions, you may be given a baby gift for one of your new eggs. This is usually a randomly selected item. Keep in mind this does not always happen, and sometimes you will get more than one item. The more eggs in a clutch, the higher chance of getting a gift for one or more of them. This isn't common, but it isn't rare either.

~ The Breeding Sands ~

A nice, warm, sandy dome where owners can sit with their dragons and watch the eggs that are half-buried in the sand to keep them incubated.

~ Pet Profiles ~

Pet Profiles are large certs (500x500) that are perfect for your journals and herd pages. Each contains pictures of your dragon at all of its stages, although if your dragon is still an egg or child, the stages that it has yet to reach are blacked out. When they do reach that stage, the pet profile will be automatically updated.

Pet Profiles contain tons of information, including its name, owner, gender, date of birth, personality, parents, siblings, mates and children, and even has an item box where all of its items are pictured.

This can only be a certain length. Below is Fifle's Personality. See how it fits into the box above. Yours should be no longer than this. If you use large words, sometimes that word will have to be on the next line, meaning there is a gap above it and less room below. If your personality doesn't fit, I may request you change it or I will use different words.

Fifle is a shy little guy that loves to play with all the other dragons and their owners. He loves water especially, even though his element is the sky.

<center>~ Dragon Journals ~</center>

The best way to keep your herd organised is to create a Dragon Journal! And guess what? They are free except for the banner, which is very cheap! All you need is a minimum of 3 dragons.


~ Journal Instructions ~

1. Tell me you are going to create a dragon journal.
2. Copy and fill in the Banner order form and post it, and send a trade for the correct amount of gold.
3. Go to the Breedable/Changing Pets Roleplay forum and create a new thread titled: (your name)'s Kawaii Dragon Herd
4. Copy and paste the journal template into the posts. Edit and fill them in.
5. Collect your banner from the shop thread, where I will post the banner and its code, and put it in the post where it says to put the code.
6. Post the link to your dragon's herd and I will link it to your name in the Owner's List.


~ Banners ~
Banners cost 100g, unless you want your dragonets to breathe fire for an extra 50g. They are all the same design, and feature two of your dragons in their child stage, as well as large watermarked images of them in the background for an awesome effect!

~ Journal Template ~
Here is a simple journal template, along with the suggested herd structure. You may edit both to your likings.

NOTES:
1. You can have multiple herds. You may want a herd of dragons of the same element, or herd for each of the King's sons. Each herd must contain 3 dragons, 1 of which must be the herd's king.
2. Don't forget to include your king and queens in the herd members. You should put them first. You don't have to, but it's fun to give your dragons rankings in the herds. Suggested Herd Rankings: King, Queen, Prince (son/brother/mate of King/Queen/Prince/Princess), Princess (daughter/sister/mate of King/Queen/Prince/Princess), Herd Member, Senior/Junior Herd Member, Herd Mother/Child Carer (helps take care of all the herd's eggs and children), Herd Protector etc. They're just a few titles you may wish to use, and can be useful when writing stories or roleplaying.
3. You may opt for a different hierarchy. You may not want rankings, but you should have a herd leader of some sort. You may want to sort your dragons according to age.
