Welcome to Pet Rock Island, the home of the Pet Rocks ! This place is run by mooshroom, and Keilyna helps out now and again.

The island is covered in many different types of habitats, and no two are exactly alike. The rocks are all different too and are found every place that you can possibly think of...and more!

All of the Mooshrooms suddenly vanished from Pet Rock Island as suddenly as they came, taking the forest with them...I wonder where they went? oO?

22/09/06 OMG...I'm the slowest person in the world! Still have heaps of school work, but tonight I'm gonna get the next stuff up and running. I'm planning on having an animated custom auction, sell a couple of emoticon rocks I've had sitting around for ages (maybe add some of the new ones too) and maybe have a couple of limited edition pets for sale ninja depends on how much time I have. But I'll give it my best go! heart

19/08/06Sorry that growings are so slow. I have tonnes of school work and I'm doing the 40 hour famine this weekend, so I have the concentration span of a goldfish. Food... But by the end of next weekend, I hope to have finished the two customs I'm working on, then get the next stuff up and running. ninja

4/08/06Yay! The flatsale was a success. Poll question up to see what I should do next. Because I'm lazy. Meh.

10/11/05 The auction was a success, congrats to Tasah. I'm going on a slight break from now till my exams are over. I'm gonna be working on getting the breeding section up though, so yay!

28/10/05 Halloween Auction started! Yay! First animated rock made by mooshroom.

1/10/05 I finally figured out a way to upload the rocks without them going completely going weird. Yay! See pg 149.

Once upon a time, somewhere over there, a giant rock fell from the sky and landed in the middle of the ocean. After hundreds of years of undisturbed growth, the island became covered in all sorts of different plants and habitats...

An group of scientists, exploring the area, noticed the strangely diverse island, and decided to have a closer look. To thier surprise, it was inhabited by heaps of living creatures that seemed to be like rocks. They were of all different shapes and sizes, and no two seemed to be quite the same. The scientists also noticed that each on took on characteristics which suited it's particular home.

The perfect pet for their great ability to adapt, the pet rocks were soon immensly popular in the rest if Gaia, and Mooshroom was assigned as their guardian.

One day, not too long ago, carried in the boat of Mooshroom's friend, Keilyna, a species of fungi-creatures which Kei so kindly called Mooshrooms over took the island, but then after a few months disappeared again.

Now the island has reverted back to just being pet rocks, but who knows what else could happen?

There are several ways in which you can get an Pet Rock of your own- through flatsales, auctions, raffles, pet trades, art trades, contests and cookie traps. (Okay, maybe not cookie traps, but you never know... XD) And perhaps you can even bribe us to make you a custom Pet Rock, but you'll find more information on that and mooshroom and Keilyna's terms for pet trades and art trades in their corners on the second page of this thread, if you wish. Please read the rules for flatsales, auctions and raffles below if you wish to participate in any.

Auction rules
- Auctions are usually only for (custom) or animated rocks
- Do not pull out your bid unless you have a very good reason for doing so. If you do not have a good enough reason, you will be greylisted.
- You may not bid during the last half hour of an auction if you have not already placed a bid beforehand.
- The auction will be extended for another 5 minutes if bids are placed during the last five minutes of the auction. This will continue on until the autobuy is reached, or people stop bidding!

Pet Rocks have been around as long as Pet Rcok Island. A giant rock fell from the sky and landed in the middle of the Archipelago of Illusions, forming the island. Hundreds of tiny rocks also fell at the same time, and as the they grew, gained eyes and changed into different forms, people realised that they weren't ordinary rocks.

Pet Rock Stages

Gravel: The youngest stage. Just looks like a small circle. The pattern is just visible. (2-3 days)

Pebble: The rock is starting to take shape. Now it can see you! (4-5 days)

Stone: The rock is fully formed, and has probably finished growing. (As long as mooshroom feels like blaugh )

Rock: Ooooo...A new stage has been reached by some of the rocks. At this stage, their type really defines what they look like. The rocks have now finished growing. (And if you /really/ don't like the last form, feel free to PM mooshroom with what you would rather, and she'll see what she can do! XD)

On Pet Rock Island there are two types of breedings, Mini-breedings and Normal breedings. Breedings on Pet Rock Island are possible for any number of rocks (within reason). Two rocks is preferred though...

Rocks can only be ordered if there are breeding slots open.

The different types of breedings will be shown using Hyperion and Umbriel as examples.

Mini-Breedings:

Price:
1 or 2 rocks: 1500g
+500g for every extra rock.

Details:
This breeding is achieved by chipping off a piece of rock from each of the parent rocks, then gluing the pieces together. A small habitat is added on to each parent, and the rock grows through the stages:
pickaxe and glue |-> gravel |-> pebble |-> stone |-> rock

1 or 2 rocks: 2000g
+ 1k for each extra rock

Details:
In these breedings, a completely new rock is formed for each parent. This means that for two rocks, there will be two offspring, etc. The new rocks each are in their own habitat, and go through the normal stages:

The Pet Rocks were designed totally by mooshroom. (Though Keilyna and Jinxeh have made a few rocks and backgrounds.)
Parts of the thread were organised by Kei, parts by Moosh

Art thieves will end up listed here. People who intentionally break the rules may. If you end up on the greylist, you will be banned from participating in any Pet Rock Island events for up to three months.

About Mooshroom:

Though Moosh doesn't /really/ want any particular items at the moment, she'll probably be quite happy to take any that you don't want. XD
