This is a small and out of the way shop on the outskirts of Durem. The windows are dusty and grimy, and no visible shop sign is in the window, or above the door, or anywhere. Occassionally, through the glass, eyes can be glimpsed. Not faces, mind you. Simply eyes.

Within, it's dim, but immaculately clean. The shelves are filled with apparently random items, none of which appear to have any relationship to any other. Some of it seems pretty, but worthless; some seems expensive, and some seems to be outright junk.

<center>~Eyeball Dissection~</center>

The Glances are extra-dimensional creatures who show in this dimension as eyes. They're not actually floating eyeballs. sweatdrop As such, they are able to hear, speak, and think. They're at least as intelligent as any human. They are, as far as anyone can tell, asexual. Feel free to refer to them as he/she/it. They tend to have their own pronoun preference; they'll let you know.

Glances are, according to Aedan, astral travellers who wish to learn more about Gaia. They are not spirits.

I am not aware of what the Glances look like in their home dimension. Aedan tells me that most of them have weak astral travelling and empathic abilities, though rarely used. They tend to dream of other dimensions, and as a race, the Glances are curious.

Occassionally, a Glance is born who is powerful enough to physically project themselves, in a limited way, into another dimension. Some of them come to Gaia, some of them to another realm. However, this ability comes at a price. A Glance with such an ability spends much of their childhood in training; when they come of age, they put themselves into a trance and seek out a likely dimension to receive them. Their physical body remains safe and monitored; it sustains the Glance, but they are very disconnected from it and not aware of it. What they see becomes filtered down through to another Glance, known as the Dreamer, one who has unusual empathic abilities, so strong they border on telepathy. The Dreamer cares for the Glance, and receieves, in a limited way, what the Glance experiences.

Eventually, the Glance's hold on this dimension will weaken, and he will awake. (No need to worry about your Glance "dying," as they will remain in Gaia for what is, for us, a human lifetime.) The awakened Glances have a sort of minor celebrity status, but are then free to either have a normal life, or seek out another dimension to explore.

Glances have little-to-no memory of their home realm. I'm not even sure if they have a biological gender; in this form, of course, they are asexual.

Glances cannot breed. They may fall in love, of course, but their true physical bodies are in a trance in another dimension; perhaps when they both awaken they may choose to have children together.

All stages are completley unique.

The first stage, the Knick-Knack, serves as a physical base for the Glance to appear in this dimension. It's... very dull, really. It doesn't do anything but hang around looking pretty. Or looking ugly, if you happen to have an ugly Knick-Knack. Aedan's Knick-Knack was a monocle, but that's not the rule. Caylith, Aedan's "assistant" was a blob of unidentifiable goo. XD

The second stage is Vapor. At this point, the Knick-Knack will appear to evaporate as the Glance takes a firm grip on it and begins to shift it. The matter from the Knick-Knack is used to create what will eventually become the full-strength Glance. The Glance cannot communicate yet, but is aware of its surroundings in this dimension.

The third stage, appearing as a single eye, is Watcher. The Watcher can, at this point, communicate freely with this dimension. It will speak intelligently. It is usually very curious, seeing Gaia for the first time, and a personality will begin to show. Their presence in this dimension is still weak and tenuous, but this will grow with time.

The fourth and, in most cases, final stage is the Seeker. Not much to say about the Seeker. At this point, the Glance is comfortable with its new friend and home in Gaia. They also have a firm enough control upon their dimensional travelling that they can blink in and out to cross short distances. They do not need to breathe or eat, as they get all they need for their true body, back in their home dimension.

Aedan does not have any happy memories of his home realm, and had long been investigating the possibility of coming into this realm entirely, and permanently.

Through use of a formula he is not willing to devulge, Aedan has done this. He has a full physical body, and while it's far from human, and quite possibly far from the Glance's true form in their home dimension, he is happy with it. A seer requires sleep, and a small amount of food (they do have mouths, though most of them have very small, hard-to-see mouths).He's willing to allow other Glances to know the secret behind it... for a small price, of course.

A small warning: The formula is extremely unstable. There is no guarantee on what the Glance's new physical body will look like. Please also note that Caylith is a later one; Seers will look more like him, as far as art style goes.

Customs:

There are currently two custom options.

1. Pick a Knick-Knack to start from and let me do the rest, for 5k, or a sealed letter.
2. Specify all stages to me for 15k, or for three sealed letters.

There's been some talk of cosplays. o_O I'll price these on a case-by-case basis, and will usually work out some way of pre-paying for a seer stage.

Pet Trades:

Yes, I do accept pet trades, but I will be picky. Feel free to approach me in PMs with what you're willing to offer me, and I'll think about what sort of custom I'm willing to do for that.

There's no guarantee I'll agree, but the worst that can happen is I'll say no. If I do, believe me, it's no reflection upon the quality of your pet; it's just not my cup of tea.

I like dragons, reptiles, birds, and humanoid pets, and anything just a little out of the ordinary. I'm not so much on heavy-RP pets, because right now, I have a lot of RP commitments already.
