The Story
For thousands of years, ferrets have been the helpful and playful companions of people all around the world. Each is special and they're all beautiful. But one day, Jabet discovered a litter of ferrets that had the potential to be something more...
Perhaps they'll have special markings, or wings. Or maybe they'll just be especially loving. She just had to breed them to find out, and give each kit to a special home.

The History
Originally, I ran The Ferret Hole as a place to get tiny pixel ferrets with special markings, just right to put into people's sigs. Unfortunatly, I had to unexpectedly leave Gaia for months and months, and the ferrets and their owners lost out.

The New Generation
Now there are new ferrets, with names, special markings and traits, and bigger pictures. I hope you enjoy my second version ferrets as much as I've enjoyed making them.

The Magic
I'm working on a roleplaying background where the special abilities of each ferret (especially special edition ferrets) will aid the owner on a magical adventure.

Rules

1 ferret per person per sale
2 breedings per ferret
Ferrets must be kept on a personal server after they mature
TFH has the right to refuse any purchase for any reason, including but not limited to harrasment of Jabet or other owners, image theft, reservation message editing, or payment issues.
You must use this thread to post for a ferret.
Be specific when requesting which ferret you want on the available list.
Ferrets cannot be reserved in advance, only when ferrets are listed as available.
Please don't page or post asking about the availability of ferrets. Ferret availability is posted below, and if it's not listed we don't have any.

It's the luck of the draw, but 3/4 of the stocking will give you a special edition ferret kit of one type or another. In fact, I'm introducing 2 new types of rare ferrets just for this stocking!

Breeding

Each ferret has a pink or blue border to symbolize their gender. A ferret owner can breed their ferret with another person's ferret. A ferret can be bred 2 times in their lifetime, and always has 5 kits a litter. Each owner gets 1 or 2 kits per breeding, with the remaining kits being reserved by TFH. A ferret owner cannot breed their own ferrets together, but they may use a stud or surrogate from TFH if one is available.

Breeding rules

heart Breedings slots will open at previously stated specific hours of the day, on the day when breeding occurs. All breeding related messages to Jabet should be posted between the times when I post that slots are open, and when they're closed, no other times. Discussions on breeding in general and arranging matings with others can be done at any time.

heart You cannot pre-reserve now for a slot!

heart You cannot pre-reserve for the next time slot!

heart You cannot pre-reserve for the next breeding!

heart You cannot pre-reserve a stud or surrogate!

(if you do those things, I may not allow you to get a slot in the future at all!)

heart We're pro-active, but blue outline boys with pink outline girls only, please!

heart Only one ferret per owner can be bred at a time.

heart Send 500g per person if you want to have ONE kit from your breeding, send 1000g if you want two. Breeders can only personally own one kit per mating, the other has to be given away or sold to someone else. You can sell or give away two kits if you wish.
Why you may want just one:
You're breeding just to get another ferret for yourself
You're breeding just to get another ferret for a gift
You don't want to try selling or auctioning a kit

Why you may want two:
You're hoping to increase your chances of possibly getting a rare trait
You're wanting to sell one or both
You want to have one to keep but also one to give to a friend

heart Post here with your name and your mate's name, THEN trade, not the other way around.

heart A reserve is:
Your name
Your ferret's name
Your partner's name
Your partner's ferret

heart I need trades sent within 4 hours of your request, and confirmed within 24 hours, to ensure your spot. ONE BREEDER CAN SEND MONEY FOR BOTH if you want to speed things up.

heart In only one breeder reserves for a pair, I need a written confirmation on the forum within 24 hours from the other breeder, to ensure you're not just picking a ferret you like without asking them.

heart Kits will be randomly assigned to the breeders to avoid arguments. I will use a random number generator to assign unique traits (such as when you're breeding to a custom to see which ferret kit gets wings) then to see what breeder gets that ferret (or if I do). Since odd traits are RARE I don't want arguments between breeders and me or between each other on this point!
Colours have a 7:8 chance of resembling one or both parents, and 1:8 of being a random mutation. Custom or rare ferrets have a 1:4 of passing on a major trait (wings, spots, weird colour) and a 1:16 chance of breeding true.

heart Ferret breeders may keep or sell kits, but to mature, the new owner must contact TFH with their ferret's name.

heart Please let me know about breeder auctions. I would like all auctions of TFH ferrets to be posted in my Auction section, for the convience of visiting customers. It's good business for me and free advertising for you!
