Intelligent | Arrogant tabtabHe is incredibly intelligent and always has been, part of this is because he is a demigod son of Athena, goddess of wisdom, but it is also because he was raised in a house where intelligence was highly valued and he has been gifted with exceptional education. Of course, he's arrogant because of it, honestly considering himself an expert on most things that he actually knows about. Granted, he usually is an expert if he's studied it, but he will not hesitate to point out when someone is wrong. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬•••▬
Compassionate | Socially Inept tabtabHe's completely and totally caring to any person that he's taken under his wing, especially if he knows them well. He takes astounding care of anyone that visits his clinic even if he does not have the healing powers of Apollo's children. Once he has decided to let someone in, he will go to the ends of the earth to keep them safe, but even if he does not know them, he cannot stand to see someone in pain. Tajei is also a bit socially inept, this is partially because of his arrogance, but mainly because he doesn't understand how relationships and feelings really work, he also does not understand stupidity and after the first few dozen failures at socializing, essentially gave up on it. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬•••▬
Serious | Hardworking tabtabHe is a very serious person, almost always doing something for work or reading up on new advancements in the medical fields. He does not take (or make) jokes well or understand the need to use humor as a defense mechanism as some people do. However, that doesn't mean he's not having fun. Taj has made work his play and enjoys himself when he is researching new surgeries or medicines, or when he is stitching up some idiot from the coliseum. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬•••▬
Stubborn | Excitable tabtabOnce he's decided to do something, or is set in his own way of thinking, it is nearly impossible to get him to change his mind. His stubbornness very much like that of a mule, if he doesn't want to do something, it's simply not getting done. However, he is also easily excited by new things and ideas. His entire face lights up and he listens intently, grinning from ear to ear like a small child. There are other things, aside from work, that excite him, but this aspect of his personality is rarely seen. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬•••▬

Biography tabtabConnor Felix Uvesti was a Welshman with an almost unhealthy interest in Norse mythology, though this was often overshadowed by his occupation as a surgeon. He spent a lot of time away from home, helping people, stitching them up, exchanging organs, but when he wasn't doing that, it was as though he was still a college student. He often studied myths and histories then wrote and published papers on the subject, so it wasn't really a surprise that the goddess Athena took a bit of an interest in him that eventually led to her popping out a brain baby and leaving the child on his doorstep when Connor was about thirty-five. At first, the man was thoroughly confused, he was actually incapable of having children due to simply being infertile, so he did not understand at first how a child appeared on his doorstep, let alone one that actually looked like him. He did figure it out though and then, being overly excited about some new thing he'd learned in Norse mythology, named his son Tajei, meaning spear of Thor, despite being a son of Athena. No one said Connor always made sense though.
Tajei's early years were fairly normal, but by the end of his third year, he was already in school, learning about whatever he could get his hands on. He consumed the subjects as he grew older, eventually graduating from high school at the tender age of fourteen. During his early teenage years, his father, having read somewhere (and then researched it and all that good stuff) that the Greek Gods and Goddesses didn't always get along and what history he could find of their demigod children also meant that they didn't always get along, not to mention monsters wanted to kill the demigod children simply because they were related to gods. So he did the first thing any normal parent wouldn't do. Found a sword fighting teacher and had Tajei learn how to defend himself with whatever weapons he could find. Taj learned how to fight with his bare hands as well of course, but for some reason, Connor really wanted his son to be a master of the standard blade and Taj just accepted it and moved on with his life. The lessons though, were not always safe and he often found himself injured and in need of more than simple bandaids.
By the time he was fifteen, Tajei had already decided that he wanted to be a doctor, an occupation his father was glad to support. He began college, online at first because he was much younger than most people and this is when he discovered his ability to speak with Avian creatures. It was definitely not what he had been expecting when he'd been writing some stupid politics report and grumbling about it in the middle of the night to suddenly hear an owl to tell him to keep it down or he'd scare the children. This is what sparked Tajei finally sitting his father down and asking about his mother. It was certainly a shock to find out that his mother was Athena, but when he heard the whole story, coupled with an owl freaking speaking to him, he could generally believe it was true, though he has never once met his mother.
At sixteen, though he'd demanded in any way possible to at least be allowed to speak to his mother at least once, he was repeatedly denied and Athena never showed herself. (It wasn't because she hated her son or anything, but simply because Connor's mental health was beginning to decline and he was not fairing too well health-wise and she didn't want to cause him any unnecessary stress), Taj entered a sort of rebellious era. Sort of because he just started studying other cultures and putting off his actual homework. It was during one of these study sessions that he learned a few things about some other gods and creatures and decided that, since he was already good with a sword, he could go out for a weekend adventure. He told his dad he was going and walked out without waiting for a reply. While he was out he met one of the many minor goddesses, who had taken the form of a sickened elderly woman and when he encountered her, Taj pretty much dropped any idea he had of an adventure and stopped to help the old woman. He went so far as to buy her medicine and spend hours researching her symptoms to help her as best he could. Impressed by his kindness, the goddess marked him with the tattoo on his face, claiming that one day she would return his kindness. Before she left though, she warned him that creatures would want to harm him and that if his abilities, however minor they were, were discovered by mortals, he would be cast out and possibly hunted. She advised him to move to an island called Asfalis, where demigods resided in peace.
After that, Tajei returned home, proud of himself for being a good person, and continued on with his life, he returned to his actual studies and proceeded to go to medical school. As soon as he graduated at the age of twenty, he made sure his father would be cared for in a high class retirement home and moved to Asfalis. He has been there ever since and seen a lot of very strange and extensive injuries and illnesses since then. Demigods get into the worst trouble. ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬•••▬

This man, Soren, was a bit strange, even in Taj’s opinion, but it was not a particularly bad strange. He seemed intelligent, something the doctor liked to see in people, actually no, Taj was pretty much certain the man was intelligent, that much was made clear when the man discussed the velocity at which the truck was traveling; the person of average intelligence would not have made any remarks about that unless they had only just gotten out of a high school physics class or something along those lines. Soren’s intelligence, however, was made more apparent in the less than conventional way of shoving a bag filled with donuts into the doctor’s arms and pulling up the research notes on his phone. Their arms pressed closely together, but ti didn’t seem as if either man noticed, their attention each focused solely on the device before them.
Takei’s orange eyes shifted over the small notes on the screen, widening a little as he read what little bits he could. "That’s fantastic! This could save hundreds, even thousands of lives! Unfortunately I don’t have much of a lab here so there’s little I can do to help you, but I must say this is completely fascinating.” He grinned at Soren again, completely pleased about research helping others, even if it was still in the production stages. So much had already been done though, the hard part was getting the basis of the research done, creating and synthesizing the protein, that was the real starting point, in Taj’s opinion, from there so much more could be done. They hadn’t had any outbreaks of malaria on Asfalis, so it was unlikely that Tajei himself would be making use of Soren’s research and results, but he could still be thoroughly pleased that someone, somewhere, would be able to benefit from such a thing.
"Ah, yes I am the doctor, went to medical school and all that. I may have to start petitioning the governor for a lab though, I’m getting quite tired of just reading about everyone’s research and not being able to do my own in the clinic’s downtime.” He chuckled lightly, still quite pleased and amazed. Usually when he wasn’t busy and couldn’t stand to sit still and read more journals or reports, he would volunteer at the vet’s helping take care of animals. He’d taken a few classes in college for veterinarians, but the majority of his time was consumed by his extensive medical studies. "When I have a place to do more than just blood work, I’ll make sure to call you should I need a hand. Likewise, if there’s any time you need a good medical opinion and quickly, you can give me a call.” He laughed again, knowing that he would need to check out Soren’s degrees and qualifications before letting him into any lab (because it’s better to be safe than sorry), he didn’t doubt that the man had all the qualifications already, just judging by his research. "I don’t normally condone drinking copious amounts of caffeine, but if you’re going to refuse a chance to rest, then at least get some coffee or something to keep you a little more alert than a moment ago. I’d rather not see you in the clinic for injuries, yours or because someone hit your barrier too hard.” It wasn’t that he was lazy, because Tajei was a ridiculously hard worker, it was just that he didn’t really like to see people in pain, the less harm caused, the better.
At the mention of sleeping on his feet like a horse, Taj leveled the man with a look of disapproval. "You may have a donkey, but that doesn’t make you a relative of the horse. Resting while lying down is much better for your body than standing up. You’re beginning to convince me that I should merely drag you to the clinic.” Helping people was his business, even when it wasn’t.
