But otherwise he is merely a silent observer who keeps himself occupied with papers and research. He can teach people a few new tricks but this often involves sparing with him.

[Powers and Abilities]
≫ AS A DRAGON
◈ Flame Breath = The most basic breath for any dragon. The dragon basically spews flames out at his opponent and while it does a good deal of damage to other races it is not very hard hitting on dragons due to their rock hard scales.
◈ Amber Wings = The edges of the dragon's wing gets set ablaze causing him to leave ambers in his wake. While it is a sight to see the ambers also serve to burn anything it makes contact with. The potency of the flames depends on what a person wears so things like clothes and fur burns more fiercely than scales and armor.
◈ Fire Storm = A spell that rains down fire buring all caught within its wake. This spell is powerful enough to set a village ablaze but such a powerful spell have its drawbacks. Due to the sheer energy it takes to cast it he can only use it while in dragon form and it often leaves him drained afterwards.
◈ Hard Scale = A move where he increase his body heat to an insane degree with helps to harden his scales making them harder and more durable even against heavy hits. However as the armor gets harder his movements becomes slower so he only uses this if he really have to.
◈ Solar Power = By spreading his wings out at their full span he can absorb the rays of the sun to boost his own fire based attacks. This becomes something that is constantly active when in a flight battle making him more dangerous in the air than he is on the ground. However this ability only works on himself and not others.
≫ AS A HUMAN
◈ Flame Sword = A replacement for the Flame Breath. He channels the power of fire through the blade of his weapon allowing his weapon to singe the things he cuts. This ability is weaker than his Flame Breath from his dragon form since his human form is not as well equipped to fully utilize elemental spells.
◈ Fire Shield // Wall of Flames = While the names are different they serve the same purpose. Both are used to shield him and his allies from incoming attacks. Fire Shield creates a dome around them shielding them from attacks while Wall of Flames creates a wall of fire to allow them to escape without being attacked or followed. However since the two things are made of fire the two barriers have a very hard time dealing with water based attacks.
≫ BOTH
◈ Winds Ablaze = This is a technique that makes use of the dragons ability to combine both wind and fire elements. With a strong wing flap or a spell he can create a fiery twister that sucks in the things around and burns them. The moving twister also leaves a trail of fire in its wake which creates a wall of fire.
◈ Heatwave = A power boosting spell where the atmosphere around him starts to reach a high temperature. This boost helps to power up the fire attacks of his allies as well as prevent anyone from freezing over. However this ability does not work on himself and if there is an Ice dragon about this can prove more hurtful than helpful.
◈ Fire Immunity = Like any Lava Dragon Hiryu cannot be harmed by fire based attacks. If anything he can absorb it allowing him to further his own abilities.
◈ Morph = He can willingly transform between forms. His dragon form is bigger, stronger, and more powerful but its sheer size makes it undesirable when in small or tight areas. His human form is more able to handle combat within close space but like and old man is not as limber or as strong.
