S E V E N
- Androsphinx
- This is a human headed sphinx, and they tend to
love telling riddles. They usually look Egyptian when
they are in either form. They are winged, since
sphinxes have wings. Their wings are tan or sand
coloured.
Angel
- These kinds of Fae are spiritual in nature -- they
could follow the VIRTUE, or follow the VICE.
Depending on which side they are, determines
whether they are a Fallen Angel or a Virtue. Fallen
Angels have dark wings, while Virtues have light
wings. The wings are bird like in a sense. In human
form, they appear beautiful, and if one is a Fae, they
can see the wings no matter what form they are in.
Bajang
- A Bajang is a vampiric Fae who can take the form of
a cat. In human form, they tend to have golden eyes,
and their sharp teeth can become visible when
provoked or around blood.
Banshee
- This is a female ONLY Fae who cries out in the
middle of the night to warn of impending death.
Centaur
- Centaurs is part human and part horse Fae. They
tend to be rather intelligent, and love astrology. In
human form, they are still rather intelligent, and great
astrologers. They are rather strong too. They tend to
be able to ride horses rather well -- they are naturals
as well. After all, they part horse. They also tend to
be rather protective of things as well.
Cerberus
- Cerberus is a three headed hound Fae which is said
to be the guardian of the gates of Hell. In creature
form, it is a giant black hound -- like a bloodhound
and a black lab combined -- and has three distinct
heads. In human form, it is only with one head, but
tends to have red tinted eyes. There also seems to
be three personalities combined together, and
sometimes tends to appear like he or she is fight
against his or herself.
Cockatrice
- In the creature form, they appear to have a head of a
rooster, a barbed tongue, and a tail of a snake. In
human form, they keep the barbed tongue, and may
have a tattoo of a snake or a bird, somewhere on
their body.
Cuco
- Often known as the 'Boogeyman', they are ghostly
Fae. They are child eaters, and it is not known what
their true form is. Coco is the male name, while
Cocoa is the female name.
Djinn
- Known as "genies" in English, Djinn ( singular form
Djinni ) have deep roots in Arab culture. The Djinn
first sprang from stories told by Indian, Persian, and
Arabian storytellers and gained international fame
when they appeared throughout the tales
Scheherezade told in "The Thousand and One
Nights". It is said that the Djinn are created from fire
and can take on any form they choose-animal or
human-and can be of any size ( they have a human-
like form and can take the shape of animals but
only temporary unless it is their tribes animal
protector ). Most of them are hostile, although some
can be friendly. It is possible for magicians or wise
men and women to gain power over a Djinn and use
it to perform amazing and magical tasks. Be wary,
for even a friendly Djinn is unpredictable and
certainly anyone who breaks an agreement with a
Djinn will strongly regret it. Often Djinn take naughty
pleasure in punishing people for wronging them,
even unintentionally.
Gorgon
- This kind of Fae is female ONLY. They are winged
and have live snakes for hair. In human form, they
look completely natural. Unlike Medusa, they do not
have stone glares that petrify people.
Harpie
- These are ONLY female Fae. They have some
appendages that are vulture looking. In human form,
they are voluptuous women.
Hellhound
- Hellhounds look like a well-built canine with rusty
red fur. Hellhounds have glowing red eyes which a
used to terrify prey their eyes also enable them to
see in the dark. Hellhounds stand about four and a
half foot in height. Hellhounds have the ability to
breathe fire. They are very aggressive beasts and are
expert hunters. They have a pack structure like
wolves. In human form, they seem to look grungy and
a little unshaven.
Hippogriff
- The Hippogriff is legendary animal that is half Griffin
and half horse. The forequarters and head is that of
the griffin that would be the father's half and
hindquarters would be of its mother a filly. The
Hippogriff is a ferocious Fae. The Hippogriff is often
found in ancient Greek paintings but it was more
largely seen in medieval times. In human form, this
kind of Fae appears to be handsome. This is a
male ONLY Fae.
Incubus
- An incubus ( plural : incubi ) is a male Fae ONLY.
They tend to be sex addicts and feed off that arousal.
May kill their lovers. The female equivalent is
Succubus.
Kappa
- Kappa are usually seen as mischievous
troublemakers. Their pranks range from the
relatively innocent, such as loudly passing gas or
looking up women's kimonos, to the malevolent,
such as drowning people and animals, kidnapping
children, and raping women. As water monsters,
kappa have been frequently blamed for drownings,
and are often said to try to lure people to the water
and pull them in with their great skill at wrestling.
They are sometimes said to take their victims for the
purpose of eating their livers or their shirikodama, a
mythical ball inside the a**s. Even today, signs
warning about kappa appear by bodies of water in
some Japanese towns and villages. Kappa are also
said to victimize animals, especially horses; the
motif of the kappa trying to drown horses is found all
over Japan. In these stories, if a kappa is caught in
the act, it can be made to apologize, sometimes in
writing. Kappas are also known as ravishers of
women. An 18th-century ukiyo-e image by Utamaro
depicts kappas raping an ama diver underwater. In
his Tōno Monogatari, Kunio Yanagita records a
number of beliefs from the Tōno area about women
being accosted and even impregnated by kappas.
Their offspring were said to be repulsive to behold,
and were generally buried. It was believed that if
confronted with a kappa there was but one mean of
escape: kappas, for one reason or another, obsess
over being polite, so if you were to gesture a deep
bow to a kappa it would more than likely return it. In
doing so, the water kept in the lilypad-like bowl on
their head would spill out and the kappa would be
rendered unable to leave the bowed position until the
bowl was refilled with water from the river in which it
lived. If a human were to refill it, it was believed the
kappa would serve them for all eternity.
Kitsune
- The Kitsune is an intelligent and magical Fae. The
creature's strength increases with age, wisdom, and
life experience. They have the ability to assume
human form and are great tricksters. They are noted
for having nine tails. A kitsune may take human form
when it reaches a certain age, usually 100 years.
They prefer to assume the shape of a beautiful
woman, young girl, or elderly man. They are fearful of
dogs completely. They can enter into people's dreams
and create illusions so elaborate that they are
perceived as reality. They can fly, become invisible,
and often times generate fire or lightning.
Leprechaun
- A Leprechaun is a small Fae that lives in farm
houses or wine cellars. Like Brownies they aid
humans and accomplish small labours for them, they
ask humans for supplies and furniture in return they
give objects that bring luck and fortune. Leprechauns
are described as merry little fellows that dress in
old-fashioned green clothes with buckled shoes and
they wear a red cap. However, that it is only seen in
history books for these Fae -- they just look like little
people and can wear whatever they want. They always
look that way, and as such they never cloak how they
look. They are known as fairy cobblers, as they make
shoes for other elves. They never make a pair of shoes
they only make one. Popular belief is that a leprechaun
possesses a treasure, which a human can obtain if
they succeed in capturing one, which is very difficult.
Leprechauns are mainly found in Irish folklore but do
appear in other countries.
Leshy
- Leshy is a male woodland Fae that has been written
about in Slavic mythology. They protect wild animals
in the forests. They usually appear to be tall men,
with a beard. In creature form, they have a tail,
hooves, and horns. They have pale white skin and
dark green eyes. They hold extremely close bonds
with grey wolves, bears, and all animal life. In a
complete human form they look like a common
peasant, although its eyes do glow. They can
shapeshift completely -- no matter what time.
Leviathan
- The Leviathan is an evil Fae that has a true form of a
giant whale with seven heads. In human form, they
tend to have multiple personalities. They are ENVY
in its truest sense. You do not want to piss this kind
of Fae off.
Manticore
- Manticores are rather similar to sphinxes. They have
the body of a red lion, a human head with three rows
of sharp teeth -- much like a shark -- and a trumpet
like voice. They are horned and winged, and their tail
is that of a scorpion that shoots poisonous spines to
paralyze those they fight against. They originate from
Persia, and its name literally means to eat man. It
has also been spotted in Greece. In human form,
these Fae have red or red tinted hair. They may be
lawyers though.
Naiad
- This is a water nymph Fae that usually is found near
streams, lakes, springs, and other bodies of fresh
water. This is a female ONLY Fae.
Nightmare
- Also called Alp, Ephialtes, Mara, and
Walriderske. They are Fae that cause night
terrors.
Pixie
- A pixie is a child Fae ONLY. They can hide their
black butterfly-like wings with a magic cloaking
mechanism -- the wings never truly go away. They
are known for being tricksters.
Puck
- A Puck is a mischievous nature Fae, and has pointy
ears in both creature and human form.
Qilin
- A hooved Chinese chimerical Fae known throughout
various East Asian cultures, and is said to appear
with the imminent arrival or passing of a wise sage
or an illustrious ruler. It is a good omen that brings
serenity and prosperity. The Qilin, in creature form,
has fire all over its body.
Reptoid
- Lizard like beings, complete with scales all over
their body. They are rather intelligent, and have
created a cloaking device to hide their true form.
Satyr
- In creature form, they are woodland Fae, half human
and half goat. They even have little horns that jut out
on the top of their head. In human form, they tend to
appear light on their feet.
Striga
- A striga is a woman transformed into a monster by
a curse. She is filled with hatred towards all living
beings, devouring them without a second thought.
There is not much known about the curse that turns
females into striga. The only well-documented
example of a striga's lifetime was that of Adda the
White, daughter of Foltest, king of Temeria. She
was cursed prior to her birth, then born a striga.
She and her mother, who did not survive the birth,
were laid to rest in a single tomb. For seven years
she grew inside the sarcophagus, only to emerge a
creature of predatory instinct with the size and skill
to carry it out. The evilness of the curse makes the
striga feed off of the life force of an innocent child.
Succubus
- A succubus ( plural : succubi ) is a female Fae
ONLY. They tend to be sex addicts and feeds off
that arousal. May kill their lovers. The male
equivalent is Incubus.
Sylph
- This is a dainty female Fae ONLY who inhabits the
air, and can control wind and air. This kind of Fae
tends to be able to turn into air, and dissolve when
they feel they need to.
Tanuki
- Foxes grow in power as they age. They grow a tail
for each century of life. When they reach 900 years
of age, a nine-tailed fox gains the power of infinite
vision ( in some texts, the Fae is a good omen, in
others a bad omen ). Foxes who live to be 1,000
years or older are called Celestial Foxes and no
longer haunt mankind. The shape-shifting power of
the fox is not perfect. While transformed, the fox is
susceptible to the same pressures and natural
predators faced by the form it assumes.
Vampire
- A vampire can walk out into the sun light, can be tan
if they want to be, and do sleep. Their skin has a
cool temperature to it, and they do need blood to
survive. They have a retractable set of fanged teeth,
and longer canines. They are not necessarily evil,
though. One can be born as a vampire, though it is
more rare.
Wendigo
- he Wendigo is part of the traditional belief systems
of various Algonquian-speaking tribes in the northern
United States and Canada, most notably the Ojibwe
and Saulteaux, the Cree, the Naskapi and the Innu
people. Though descriptions varied somewhat,
common to all these cultures was the conception
of Wendigos as malevolent, cannibalistic,
supernatural beings ( manitous ) of great spiritual
power. They were strongly associated with the
Winter, the North, and coldness, as well as with
famine and starvation. At the same time, Wendigos
were embodiments of gluttony, greed, and excess:
never satisfied after killing and consuming one
person, they were constantly searching for new
victims. In some traditions, humans who became
overpowered by greed could turn into Wendigos; the
Wendigo myth thus served as a method of
encouraging cooperation and moderation. Whenever
a Wendigo ate another person, it would grow in
proportion to the meal it had just eaten, so that it
could never be full. Wendigos were therefore
simultaneously constantly gorging themselves and
emaciated from starvation.
Werewolf
- Werewolves are often attributed superhuman
strength, speed, and senses, far beyond those of
both wolves and men. The werewolf is generally held
as a European character, although its lore spread
through the world in later times. They are sometimes
called Lycanthropes. They only turn once a month at
the full moon. One can be born as a werewolf, though
it is rare.
