Kahlan had found her spot, right near Em, and able to watch Evan and his usual playful self. She loved Evan like a brother, she did, and Emmanuelle just like a sister. The two were almost like her saviors. She wasn't rich in family, she for all she knew, was it. So the closest to family were her two sneaky friends. One always getting into trouble, whatever he could find to keep himself entertained, he would do. Sometimes this didn't make good for Emmanuelle and her, they usually had to deal with his complaining, or even his defeat, by helping him in many ways. But in a way, She didn't mind that. That meant she could see Elliot. Odd, right? The knight that seemed to seek out her way of life, and mush it like a bug seemed to intrigue her. The blond knew it to be very weird for her to think she could find some sort of, what was it? Some sort of...More or less a way for the boy to change. To see that her people, were not all bad. Looking at Em, she watched the girl take a bite of her bread, and smirked at her. The world seemed so big, and it seemed there town was full of too much corruption. Maybe one day she could get the young knight to see that there is more than one way to see things. That there was bad, in everything. Not just one thing? Kahlan was a very determined person, and one way or another she was set and bound to make the knight see something his rose colored glasses hid now.
Soon a figure approached that the Dancer had seen a few times over and over in the town. She gave a polite smile as he appeared and she watched as Em and the newcomer began to talk. It seemed that Evan disliked this. Emmanuelle was a calm figure, very kind and not one to toy with a person. With Evan being opposite, willing to mess with any sap within a five foot radius, no one was safe. not even Em or she. Kahlan rolled her eyes at Evan's almost display of 'Manhood'. She let out a deep sigh and took a bite of her bread. It was the usual for Evan to be so protective of Emmanuelle. He was really like their brother, and it was sweet for the most part. But...There was another part where it was rather annoying. Sometimes she wondered if the two could breath with out Evan having to ask what guy had tempted to breath cold air. Kahlan pushed her curly locks from her face as Evan spoke. She resented this comment "Dont be like that. I don't eat nearly as much as you, you bum" Kahlan grumbled a bit, before pulling a bit off her bread and throwing it at Evan, watching the piece hit the boy in the head, and drop to the almost soggy ground. Sometimes it seemed Evan took things a bit to far, just like a big brother, he did get on your nerves.
Elias, she found his name, was the newcomer who must have felt extremely embarrassed by this point. It was hard enough to talk to a person if you knew them when they were in a crowd, yet alone when you hardly knew them. Evan was just poking fun, at a bad time. Kahlan felt pity for the boy. The theft who sat aside her, just wanted to "Show him up" in a since. Which just made it seem stupid to the dancer. Evan just kept talking, like his job was so noble and all. He took from people who probably needed the money just as much as they did. He had told Kahlan once, about how he would target specific people, weaker people. Those who had little to no defense. This made the blond hesitate any time the boy would find something for Em and her, and that seemed like he wanted to find her a necklace every week or so. It was flattering...But Kahlan didn't have a gargoyle neck. She couldn't wear them all at once, and most got lost in her daily gallivanting, that she never saw them again. Soon Evan attempted to be funny. Again, the girl grumbled and tilted herself from him. "Hmph. You wish. Don't be nice to me, when your being mean to others. You know i hate when your rude to people." The boy began another comment, and Kahlan stuck her tongue out.It wasn't his business the way she dressed, and he knew it very well. And in all honesty, the girl just needed to figure out where to get some warmer sort of clothing. It was something she had to battle with every year. She didn't care for the cold seasons very much. But hopefully this year she could find some in door location to practice, an abandoned place, you know? "It's not that cold, and besides. i didn't think it was going to be as cool and about to rain. I was going to be warm, you know that when i start to dance i don't really stop." She said taking another bite of bread she swallowed and pushed the half eaten portion to Evan.
"You seem to need this for your ego today. Even though i really shouldn't help feed it and all." She said with a flat tone. She really hated when people were mean to others for no reason, and Evan was no exception. The girl loved to be with her friend, yes. But not when he was being a Jerk. The girl's blue eyes caught Emmanuelle for a moment, and wondered if the brunette was simply ignoring the boy's prudence today? There was a twinge in her stomach at the thought. Kahlan looked up towards Emmanuelle a lot. She was a calm person, one that didn't react so quickly like Kahlan did. The Dancer was terrible at thinking things through, at making a plan. She was so impulsive. And sometimes it was all about her in specific situations. She didn't intend for it to be that way...it just...Happened. She really tried to be a kinder person. And some times she was, and it worked when she tried. Well, in some situations that is. Kahlan glanced up at the boy who Evan was picking on. She gave him a smile and flashed a bright expression. "Don't let him get to you. he's just being a protective person." The girl said, rather bluntly. She was rather good at that. Saying things just as they came to her mind. She did need to work on that. It had gotten her into some....Sticky situations.
Kahlan took a deep breath and looked towards the gloomy sky. She wished she could dance today. It was always a incomplete day when she wasn't able to get out in front of a decent sized crowd and dance. She hated really super big crowds though. They made her feel a bit nervous. it was though, most likely because her childhood. The blond had not known of the court of miracles until her father died when she was younger .After that, her mother needed solace, and a shoulder to lean against. Since then, Kahlan has been part of a thing bigger than she. The bright blue eyes of the dancer watched as the clouds floated to the sky. It seemed that she did get dreamy every so often. When she was younger, and her mother became ill: it was a lot worse. But soon the girl met Emmanuelle, and Evan. Actually, she found it funny the way her and Evan met. He tried to steal her coin pouch, and that was all the girl had left. It was shortly after her mother passed, as in, less than twenty four hours. She was in the Vago center. And it was a quick bump of the shoulder, and the girl ran after him. He was shocked at her reaction, but that pouch was her mothers and it was what she had left. She didn't care much about the few coins in it. Since she was used to so little of them anyway. The blond had followed the boy and took him down. It wasn't that poised, and it wasn't pretty, but she was going to get it back. She had to at the time. By the end of it, Kahlan was in tears, but she had her pouch back. It seemed after that Evan became less of a thief and helped her back to the court of Miracles. That is when she met Emmanuelle. The graceful girl that inspired her just like her mother once did. To continue to dance, and to prosper the best she could with the situation given to her. Kahlan's lips curved into a smile as she took a glance to Em. She was grateful to the brunette, and even the boy who had helped her many a time, during her...ungraceful period. The blond used to be a klutz, and to see that dance...It didn't make much profit...
