The war is over so said the speaker. Maybe to him I'm just a pawn so he can advance, and all I want to do is dance.

                              ██ █ xxx CURSE |

In general terms, I'm a Disease Weilder. I affect people through physical contact--not necisarilly direct, but the closer I am to a person, the more powerful the "disease". I only put it that way because really, I don't specialize in diseases or infections or viruses or anything like that. The idea of "Disease Weilder" is a little misleading, actually. Back in Persia, the term more roughly meant something like "giver of maladies". It meant someone who, through physical contact, caused harm to another person's body, not just someone who could give someone a nasty cold. In my case, this held true especially concerning conditions of the heart. From a hundred yards, only through the earth under our feet, I can cause a slight rise in blood pressure. Within arm's reach I can rupture any aorta in under a second. Sure, if I try, I can maybe give someone a sinus infection or a light fever, but it's difficult, and in most cases really not worth it.

                              ██ █ xxx STRENGTHS |

On the down side, my Curse has absolutely no defensive capabilities--however, God had the grace of giving me speed to make up for that. For as long as I can remember I've been one of the fastest runners in the neighborhood (no matter which neighborhood that might've been). Though I can only go in small bursts, coupled with some quick problem solving I'm pretty effective at retreating. Besides that, I've always been a fast study and a quick thinker. Present day, I'm fluent in about five languages (English, French, Chinese, Arabic, and Hebrew, to be precise), I'm attending my sixth medical college (this time around majoring in psycology), and I can solve a rubix cube in just over a minute. Despite how cool that is, (I know, I know) it more importantly means that I can be very effective when it comes to problem solving, decision making, and strategics. I pride myself on my ability to sense weaknesses and strengths in an opponent with observation and being able to formulate an appropriate formation of attack, minimizing casualties on our side and (hopefully) attaining success at the battle's end. From this, I get the notion that I can be a leader the Rebel party can be proud of.

                              ██ █ xxx WEAKNESSES |

Ironically, though my Curse is to break hearts, mine is pretty broken, too. I have some kind of congenital heart condition (I haven't really bothered getting checked out, since I'm not going to die anytime soon) that is actually quite bothersome. Usually my symptoms show during physical activity: short, uneven breaths--usually it feels like I'm not getting any air at all. I tire easily doing the simplest things and some times find myself just laying for hours during the day because i don't have to energy or the oxygen to crawl out of bed. A lot of the time, back in the old days, I would find myself passing out during the middle of a battle. Sometimes, in my subconscious, I would pray that my skull would get trampled by a horse, or some sadistic Loyal would run my "dead" body through, just to say he had, and I would finally be free. But, I almost always woke up back in the encampment a day or so later--the friend, knowing of my condition, who had rescued me hovering by my bedside. Also less literal, I have another heart defect: I tend to be very emotional. Maybe it's because I'm a woman, or maybe it has to do with a chemical imbalance in my brain, or maybe it has nothing to do with that. Still, I get so worked up over the little, dramatic things that sometimes I tend to loose sight of what's really important.

                              ██ █ xxx FEARS |

Seeing as I am one of te few living creatures on earth that beg for death rather than dread it, there aren't many things that I'm particularly afraid of--at least, I'm not afraid of "normal" things, such as drowning or burning alive. Though morbid, that's sounds pretty pleasant right about now...anyways, I have a few unique fears. One, I fear God. I'll worship Him without fail for the rest of my existence on this earth, but the more I read, the more I fear Him. I can't imagine what horrors my soul as committed during its long span of time on earth, and, though he is a gracious God, as punished me with this eternal existence on earth. I can't help but wonder, is this my hell? Am I repenting my sins with this sentence? Or, once I am done here, do I spend the rest of eternity at Satan's side, paying for my sins in God knows how much suffering. Really, it's these questions that i fear more than God Himself. Two, though I will welcome her openly as our savior, I fear Dilara's return to this earth. If Armageddon for the humans is anything like the Bible describes, our Armageddon is bound to be much, much worse. And lastly, I fear Hayri's return into my life. His betrayal broke me--my trust in love and affection. I haven't been with a man since Dilara's death and since then have given up on finding love. When Dilara returns, so will he to kill her for a second time. If I have to watch her die again at the hands of the man she loved I--I'm not sure what kind of hope I can possibly have left for trust, or any other emotion or bond related to it. And without that hope...I'm not sure if my heart can survive in this world for much longer.

            I'm a peace-loving decoy ready for retaliation

Welcome to R e p e n t, an advanced literate roleplay based on the story of my sister, Dilara, her partner, Hayri, and their cursed people. I, Astera, hope that you will find your way in this story, whether for good or for evil, and will have a good time doing so. Just remember: follow the rules, and follow your heart. My sister, her people, and our world are all depending on you, but for now, have fun, chat, make friends, and, most importantly, prepare yourselves!

Don't tear your clothes in grief, but tear your hearts instead. Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful
and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relelent and not to punish.
