              Ҏєяʂϕɳᾱʃῗtɣ:

Often quiet and reserved, Linette tends to keep to herself and her circle of friends. Often, she is treated as a social pariah - being not only a caucasian girl in a Japanese school, but an unusually pale one at that. This has led to Linette being somewhat introverted - but it's not unheard of for her to strike up a conversation with someone she doesn't know, she's just usually rather cautious about doing so.

While not craving popularity or attention, Linette does tend to find herself seeking to carve out a place for herself amongst her peers. Being so different from the rest, this was sometimes difficult - but nothing worth doing was easy, or so she thought.

Linette always had a natural talent for creativity - music, art and writing stories. Having a natural fascination with the world led her to excel in science, language arts and music in school, though she tended to fall behind somewhat in math and social studies.

Linette also liked to keep herself in shape, often having after-school jogs around her neighbourhood. While not obsessively active, she was active enough to keep slim and fit.

Linnette had a natural dislike for gossips - having been the subject of much during her time in Japan, simply for being different. Likewise, she had a dislike for people who viewed themselves as better than others and could get quite sarcastic and snarky with either people.

When reading and writing, Linette tended to enjoy science fiction, fantasy and mystery novels - finding the latter especially enthralling. Her natural curiosity fed upon mystery and intrigue, and in many ways, cracking the codes on a good unsolved case was one of her favourite pastimes. However, when it came to romance novels, Linette had absolutely no use for them, finding them either disgustingly sappy or disgustingly smutty. Either way, it wasn't something she was interested in.

              Ҕῗʂtϕяɣ:

'Aojiroi' was born Linette Bryana Avery, in Vancouver, Canada, with a form of albinism that left her skin and eyes sensitive to the sun. Her father was a computer programmer and developer that worked for the R&D department of an electronics corporation with an office in Vancouver, and her mother was a secretary at a local doctor's office.

For the first nine years of her life, Linette lived in Burnaby, attending a local elementary school. She made friends with a few of the other students, but the one friend from elementary school she kept throughout her life was Leah Martin, who was usually in the same class as her. Where Linette was quiet, Leah was loud and goofy - essentially playing the part of the class clown. Surprisingly, the two got along incredibly well and often got up to mischief together.

It was Leah who gave Linette her first nickname - Draculette - remarking that Linette's pale skin and red eyes made her look like a vampire. Finding the nickname funny, Linette's class continued to call her that, with Linette taking it in stride, almost wearing it as a badge of honour. Whenever someone annoyed Linette, she began threatening to suck their blood in jest - which usually was met with a few snickers from classmates.

When she was nine, Linette's father was offered a job at the head R&D office of the company he worked for - with the one catch being that it was located in Shinjuku. Given that it was quite a significant raise in salary, her father accepted, and the family moved overseas to Kiyose.

Having a natural gift for linguistics, among other creative pursuits, Linette learned the Japanese language quickly - with the aid of tutors at first - and within three years, was legally fluent, even if she retained her west-coast Canadian accent. Meanwhile, thanks to the advent of the internet, Linette kept in touch with Leah, speaking frequently with her on MSN and other similar programs.

Though middle school, Linette attended a school in Kiyose - much to her displeasure. The school's students never did like Linette much, and she had very few friends amongst her classmates. Cruelly branded "Aojiroi" (pale) and "Gosuto" (ghost) by the students making fun of how pale she was, Linette mostly just kept to herself and avoided her irksome classmates, developing somewhat of a loner personality. She never allowed herself to be miserable though, and did take chances at petty revenge - whether verbal or through pranks - whenever she could.

At the beginning of high school, Linette had aced her citizenship test, becoming a dual citizen of both Canada and Japan. At the start of the school year, instead of attending a school in Kiyose, her parents shipped her off to Yokohama, enrolling her in Kogamo High School, whereupon she stayed in one of the dorms while attending class.

This will be both her second year in high school, and her second year attending Kogamo. This year, she volunteered as the leader of the art club, and also joined the occult club - something that piqued her curiosity a fair bit. It was certainly going to be interesting, at least!
