Cheeky | Caring
tab tab Always one with a wise-a** retort, Mallory is always finding himself in hot water with some of the other, stronger, demigods for his sharp tongue and disrespect. It is sometimes hard to tell if he is being serious with the way he is speaking; you need to watch for a glint in his eye. If he knows he's gone a bit too far, he'll teleport out of arm or weapon reach, laughing away. While he does come off a bit brash, he is a caring young man, and will be the first to bring someone a bowl of soup when they get sick. If he thinks he may have actually hurt your feelings with an off-the-cuff comment, he will later apologize, albeit a little sheepishly.

tab tab Always upbeat, Mal doesn't like to feel negative vibes from people, he says it messes with his magic. Or at least, that is his excuse from trying, sometimes way too hard, to brighten people's days. Even in situations where it is one hundred percent a glass half empty situation, he will somehow find the silver lining. He isn't opposed to sometimes creating strife, as he will often look for opportunities which Lethia can take advantage of and cause some chaos. He never comes up with anything cruel, ad of course he could always do it himself. But then it wouldn't be as effective as raw chaos magic. And, he could get blamed.

tab tab Mal is in a way a typical teenager. His laziness knows no bounds. He sometimes debates whether it is worth his effort to swim to save people, or simply use his magic. Often times he will do the chores he is given from Lethia with magic, while making a sandwich. While he is incredibly lazy, he always is making sure Lethia is doing what she is supposed to be doing. Such as eating all three meals, bathing on a regular basis, such things. He also takes responsibility for his friends, but his responsibility towards his work is a little shabby.

He is also an extremely doting boyfriend. However, before he enters into a relationship, he is a fairly flirtatious young man. He doesn't care if his comments embarrass the recipient, or if they're already in a relationship. It's not entirely that he wants a relationship with these people; it's probably the only thing he retained from his father.

Biography
tab tab You can imagine nineteen year old Frederick Paxton's surprise when a baby boy was in the arms of his girlfriend. One of his girlfriends, whom he actually kind of liked. At first he was enraged, beginning to yell at her for cheating, he didn't have pink eyes, and neither did she, until no sound came from his throat, causing him to stand in stunned silence. She chided him, calling him a hypocrite, as she knew he had many lovers, rivalling Zeus.

She waved her hand and he started to sputter as she remained standing there, but another woman split from her and carried the baby to him. When he was holding the child, the woman melded back into his girlfriend, as she told him she was the Goddess Hecate. That he should care for their son, and when it was time, he should go to the place marked on the paper in his hand. As she left, he felt a note in his hand that wasn't there before.

Needless to say, Mallory Cecil Paxton was not an overly loved child. His father provided his basic needs, of course. But there were no real signs of affection. For all he knew, he wasn't even his child. However when Mal was around seven, he started to be able to use magic. He would suddenly have a new bicycle, or a bunch of ice cream would appear in the freezer. Once a lamb appeared in the backyard, and when his father went to shoo it out of the yard, he was paralysed. It was soon after that that his father was trying to force him to leave to the island his mother had left directions to.

He didn't want to go! Not where anyone could make the school bully fall on his face. Or enchant the football so it avoided his team's net. He didn't want to seem not special. How would his mother ever notice him then? Not much later, there was a new face at his favourite little bakery. The golden-haired young woman intrigued him. The way she lifted heavy things with ease. She was also nicking people's wallet, which Mallory always put their money back into their pockets before she could open it.

After watching her for some time, he snuck out of his house when he knew she would be closing up the bakery. He approached her, wanting to know who her mother was. Nobody could have that strength, so who was it? It could also be her father, but something made him ask about her mother. She obviously had no idea what he meant, and so he mumbled a spell under his breath, encasing her in a metal cage, sitting in front of her. She was almost bending the bars until he explained about his mother, the Goddess of Magic. That his powers had emerged early, because they were strong. He wanted to run away with her. Somewhere other than the island. They wouldn't be special. Just another face in a crowd. Mal saw the change in her face as she processed the information, sighing internally at the slow speed.

He was overjoyed when she agreed to take him with her, and he even managed to get her to take him to Greece. While she worked a job, he would go around to the different remnants of temples, looking for any sign of his mother. At least until Lethia scolded him for not being in school half the time. It was around this time that he found a necklace in a market, and decided to see if his "sister" had any other powers, other than enhanced strength.

He cast a spell to divine what her most powerful ability was - and when she put it around her neck, it whispered 'Chaos Magic.' And suddenly she could use magic! Which surprised him, as he hadn't intended for the necklace to do that. However she was incapable of using magic without it. Eventually, he made her some other pieces to strengthen her magic, make it a little more stable.

The scariest time in his eleven years was when the bank he and Lethia were in was getting robbed. And she did the unthinkable and cursed her mother. Before using her magic like she had never used it before and saved everyone, then dragged him out. He knew they had to leave - you can't just school some bad guys and not need to be questioned. But when Eris cursed her daughter, he tried not to giggle, every time she tripped on nothing. Try as he might, he couldn't lift the curse her mother had put on her.

He embraced his life in the United States. His friends at school loved his accent, and had him recite lines from movies. Or just yell angrily at people. He always got picked first for football, or 'soccer" as they called it. He was enjoying his life. Until they were attacked by a group of cyclops in the park.

He wondered what other people saw chasing them as he tried to quickly shout spells to deflect their attacks, to punch one with a hammer made of clouds. But when the battle was over, he looked on, horrified, at the totalled car. The people crying, cursing, throwing things in anguish. He started to cry as well, as Lethis dragged him away. This time, he could accept the place he would no longer be special. Where anything horrible wouldn't hurt innocent people.

He liked the school on the island, the different things that he learned. Even if he didn't seem to enjoy them from looking at his face. He didn't really last that long in an establishment, just because he got restless. Then lazy, and stopped doing his work. It wasn't until someone found him the job as a lifeguard that he found something he actually kind of enjoyed.
