POWERS:
lightning bolt control: Can project lightning bolts from his hands and also summon lightning down from the sky. The bolts can pierce, burn and paralyze targets by shocking. Kayden has never been able to learn how to lower the power output, thus the bolts are lethal against most beings.
storm control: Can manipulate certain aspects of existing storms: thunder, winds, precipitation.
weaknesses: Can only summon lightning from the sky when there are storm clouds present. Lightning rods will stop his summoned lightning from starting fires and causing electrocution. Cannot create or stop storms himself. Kayden is not invulnerable, and in human form is at his most defenseless.

PERSONALITY:
Kayden is the type of person who would like to always say what he thinks and mean what he says. Sometimes this works out, but now and then he encounters situations in which he'd rather appease than confront or disagree. Surprisingly, this trait of extreme agreeableness was not always in his nature. It is the result of his own choice to condition himself to behave as such. There was once a time when Kayden was quick tempered and impulsive, never holding back and always doing what he felt he needed to in the moment, of course with consequences which were sometimes permanent.

In the present, Kayden still does have a side of him that is stubborn and willful. There is a point at which he will break and become deadly serious, if pushed far enough. However, he is for the most part friendly and forgiving. He is a good listener and likes to motivate those around him, a supporter of team spirit. He is generous, as shown by his rewarding staff for being employee of the month, holding monthly staff dinners and even participating in volunteer work a few hours a week when he has spare time.

Kayden tends to keep an upbeat disposition, though not obnoxiously so--more awkward than anything, such as when he refers excitedly to things in conversation that no else is familiar with. If anyone is familiar with his references, he becomes more ultra enthusiastic. Generally he has a positive outlook on life, and likes to encourage others to view things in a brighter light as well.

Lastly, Kayden is prone to talking to himself out loud, and when he's nervous will scratch at the back of his neck and laugh.

BIOGRAPHY:
Kayden was born in the Midwest of the U.S. almost 300 years ago. His parents and older brother were more malevolent types of thunder birds, bringers of misfortune rather than prosperity. Kayden separated from his family early on. He was averse to their disregard for and dislike of other beings, especially entire communities which would perish from the floods, droughts and other phenomenon that the thunder birds produced.

Kayden has reinvented himself several times, changing his name, professions, social circle and location. He has favored the name Kayden for a while and used it more than once. He lived in Australia from the 1950's to 1970's as a wildlife rehabilitator, then China, from the 1970's to the 2000's simply to find some measure of peace by immersing himself in a culture totally different than what he was used to. He relocated to Japan in the early 2000's. Coven was originally his brother Slain's idea.
