The wind was rushing, blue hair flowing backwards, and all around her were clouds and Pokemon. There was nothing in the world that could compare to this feeling, with the smell of the open air around her. She was tempted to stay in the air for a while longer, perhaps circle the region a little, check out the area, but there was nothing Cassiopeia knew more about than perception. It would most definitely look sketchy if someone on a Honchkrow was randomly circling the region, and Cass had to do everything she possibly could to ensure that she did not look sketchy. After all, her job depended on it.

Not that she was working right now, but it's still good for her to ensure that she wasn't put onto someone's radar. An Interpol spy definitely would not be the kind of person that would draw attention to themselves, and Cass was one of the best Interpol spies for the last little while. Cass let her mind drift, remembering her work in the Santi region,. She'd learned quite a few lessons from her work there, like the fact that she needed to learn to slow down before charging headfirst into dangerous situations. She often forgot that calling in reinforcements was one of the first things to do when learning about the whereabouts of the enemy, and that had cost her dearly. Thankfully, she didn't actually lose her Pokemon, but Flash was definitely too scarred - physically and emotionally - to deal with more missions. He was left at Headquarters to recover and - knowing HQ - probably to go through rehabilitation to either be able to live with his PTSD, or to go back to being a city Pokemon. Either one would work for Cass, although it would break her heart to see the Luxio go.

As Cass noticed that she was wallowing in her own self-pity, she shook her head to snap herself out of it. A good spy definitely did not get distracted! She noticed a ship pulling into the port, and her Honchkrow instinctively flew toward it. That was always like Nyx, to be able to notice things just as Cass did. As she neared the port, she noticed a couple of people around the port, who looked relatively new to the area. Nyx turned to notice them, and then landed a little ways away from them, then flying in a circle around Cass before she returned to her Pokeball. Feeling rather lonely without a Pokemon by her side, she reached into her pocket and pulled out another Pokeball, releasing an Empoleon. The Empoleon quickly turned around, studying his surroundings, noticing the Aron and Aggron with their respective trainers. He glanced at Cass before wandering off into a crowd of people, far out of Cass's sight. Cass, upon seeing Azurua wander off, followed from a bit of a distance, knowing that her Zorua would find a more appropriate form to take to fit in with the surroundings.

Suddenly, a Wingull let out a squawk, flew out of the crowd landed on Cass's shoulder, looking directly at her. "Az, you know that we can't be that obvious when we go places together. What if someone saw you?" She whispered, as she ruffled the Wingull's feathers on the back of the head, exactly where Az liked it as a Zorua. She looked around, wandering the area a little, trying to look as lost as she felt.

"Where are we, anyways?" She muttered.

The black-haired girl pulled her hair back into a lazy ponytail and put on her most comfortable violet pullover hoodie. She stared at her collection of black clothing. She would have put her black hoodie on, except she wasn't the biggest fan of actually looking like a thief or drawing attention to herself by wearing entirely black. She settled on a compromise by wearing black short shorts beneath her hoodie, and a black tank top. Her rental car was already waiting in the garage, and her grandparents were out on vacation for the next few weeks anyway so they wouldn't notice that she was gone. Everything was set up for the adventure of a lifetime. A life of crime, except without the crime part, just the running away part. She laughed to herself and checked her phone one more time, seeing if there were any more messages from Ruth, and seeing none, she tucked her phone into her kangaroo pocket. Chucking her bag full of essentials into the passenger seat, she got into the silver rental electric car and mentally ran over the list of things in her bag. Clothes, a sleeping bag, a good amount of nonperishable food items, toiletries, a jumbo sized box of tampons because Liv knew those things were rare as hell and twice as expensive, a fair amount of money from her parents and extended family that really was supposed to go toward her university education, her tablet and headphones, as well as all the various chargers. Of course, anything else she actually needed she could probably buy. In her mind she figured she should have brought a weapon, but if anything really threatened her she figured she could come up with something ridiculous. She had matches and a couple of bottles of hairspray to use as an impromptu flamethrower, but she wasn't big on bringing guns anywhere.

Livia scoffed to herself. She never really understood the whole American fascination with carrying firearms everywhere. This was why she insisted that she stay in Vancouver for her education, since UBC was so close by, but nope, her family had to send her to this little shithole in the middle of nowhere with the lack of gun control laws. On the bright side, she didn't have to stay in this shithole for much longer. Liv checked the time in her car, and seeing that it was 1:30 PM, she figured it was probably time to set off. If only it didn't take seven goddamn hours to get to Boise. Even in the same state it took forever to get to. She plugged her phone into the stereo system in the car and began driving, letting Onerepublic sing to her, and she quietly hummed along.

-- timeskip : seven goddamn hours later --

After having stopped at sketchy pit stops in the middle of nowhere, Liv was feeling rather good about being in a little city which could actually have proper washrooms and humans who didn't look like creepy truckers. She checked her phone to check to see where she was actually supposed to meet Ruth, and then drove down the street to make her way to the meeting spot. Ruth had mentioned that there were other people meeting them, although it would have been nice to know who the other people were, just in case she walked up to the wrong people. Liv scanned the area and saw another person in a car. She would approach him, but really, she didn't know who the hell that person was. If it was Ruth, he would probably have messaged her, so she turned the lights off and sat back, humming some song that had been playing a few minutes ago.

Celeste was about to leave the house with just her bag and her things, tapping her side pocket of her bag to make sure she had her flute on her. As she ensured that it was there, she called out to her mother, who was in the kitchen, making something that smelled delicious. "I'm ready to go, Mom!" She said, as her mother raced out of the kitchen and into the foyer of the house, holding a small lunchbox of food and sweets. "For your trip. Dad will be waiting outside with Sparkle." She said, referring to the Charizard that Celeste had named when she was a kid. Celeste took the food and she placed it in her back, kissing her mother on the cheek before leaving the house. "I'll come back and visit as soon as I have the chance!" She said, as her mother waved.

She left the house and saw her dad and Sparkle the Charizard. "Ready to go on the adventure of a lifetime?" He asked, eyes glinting. Celeste nodded in excitement. As they both hopped on the fire dragon's back, Celeste's dad placed a Pokeball as well as a few other things in Celeste's hands. "Open them when you're at Nuvema Town." He said, as Celeste placed those objects in her bag as well. As they began to fly, Celeste's dad began to talk about all of the adventures that he had had when he was a child, and Celeste's eyes shone in excitement, listening to all of the stories that she had heard as a child. As they landed in the new region, Celeste couldn't help but take in all of the new sights. Everything was so cool!

She then remembered the gift that her father had given her, and so she opened the Pokeball, releasing the Pokemon. A little pig floated out of the Pokeball, letting out a soft cry of "Muuuuunna..." Celeste let out a squeal of excitement. "Aww, he's so cute!" She said as she raced toward her dad and hugged him. "He's relatively new to the world, but he's all yours. Take good care of him and yourself, okay?" Celeste nodded and her father took Sparkle to the skies, heading home, as Celeste checked out the other things in her bag. Her father had also given her a handful of potions and Pokeballs so she wouldn't be at a disadvantage. Aside from those things, he'd also included a foldable bike that fit in her bag... somehow, and a Pokedex, an upgraded Poketch thing that was still in its box and a Town Map.

Celeste took the Poketch thing out of its box and read it. It was called an Xtransceiver, and it allowed people to videochat with one another. She looked inside, and the numbers for her mother and father were already programmed in. Celeste smiled and put on the Xtransceiver, and with the floating pig Pokemon she nicknamed Cochon in her head, she began her journey.

As the boat she was on pulled up towards the shore, the blonde girl stared at the island before her. She knew that coming to this region was a pretty dangerous choice seeing as it was nowhere near as safe as any of the other regions that she had been to, but it was the fact that it was a lot more dangerous here that made it less likely for her family and fiance could come find her and take her back to the hellhole that was Camphrier Town in Kalos. She held her sole Pokémon in her arms, held up against her like a child would hold a teddy bear. She had grabbed a random Pokéball at home on a whim, any one of the Pokémon from home would have recognized her and listened to her, but this one just happened to be the one that Amélia knew pretty well. Having brought up this Pokémon on her own, even naming the little Sandile herself, Amélia knew that she could trust this little crocodile Pokémon to have her back. She looked down at her Pokémon, who glanced upwards at her and let out a soft "Dile." as the boat reached the shore. Amélia hopped off the boat and glanced back at the kind woman who had personally paddled the boat all this way to Sabireta. She put her Sandile down and reached into her pocket for a few Pokédollars, and placed them in the lady's hand.

"I know this isn't much, but thank you so much for bringing me here." Amy said, smiling at the lady, who glanced down at the money in her palm. To the woman, it probably was a lot of money, but to Amy, it really wasn't, seeing as she'd grabbed a lot of money from her parents before she'd left. She and the little crocodile Pokémon turned and headed further inland. "So, Cocoa, do you think this place is safe?" Amy murmured, glancing at the Sandile, who was looking rather nervous. The Sandile looked up at her, and it was clearly written on Cocoa's face that it didn't matter how scary the land looked, she was going to be brave the whole way through. "There's a difference between bravery and stupidity..." Amélia said, chuckling a little as she noticed a little campsite up ahead. Further ahead beyond the campsite was something that resembled a town, but Amy couldn't be entirely sure. "Okay, Cocoa, this one's up to you. Do you want to go to the campsite or try our luck by continuing into the town and seeing what we get from there?"

The Sandile glanced at the campsite, and looked at the town that loomed ahead. It certainly would be safer to go to the campsite, but she felt that going to the town would be more of a challenge and definitely be tougher than it was back at home. She turned to her trainer and pointed her tail at the town, letting out a determined, "Sand. Sandile." The blonde trainer looked at the Sandile and nodded, determination also on her face. "Into the town it is." She said, as the two of them headed towards the town. Trekking down a hardly-worn path, Amélia looked around at the area all around them. The town seemed rather foreboding, but there was nothing she could do about that. She just needed to keep walking forward.

Suddenly, something exploded from the water behind the trainer and her Pokemon, letting out a loud "Buiz!" and a shock wave of air hit the ground near Cocoa. Turning around in horror, Amélia could see an orange weasel Pokémon preparing to attack again. She looked at her Pokémon and nodded. "Nothing we can do about Pokémon that are trying to attack us. I hear that Pokémon in this region are a lot more aggressive than in other regions, so we're going to have to learn to defend ourselves. Cocoa, Sand Attack." She said firmly, as the sea weasel let out another cry, causing both Amélia and Cocoa to clutch their ears in pain. "Cocoa, we have to work through this! Sand Attack!" She said, as the Sandile's eyes narrowed in determination. The Sandile turned around, and with her tail, kicked sand up into the eyes of the Buizel. The orange Pokémon let out a cry as the sand entered its eyes, and Amélia took advantage of this opportunity. "While it's distracted! Use Bite!" The Sandile leapt up in the air, jaws open to bite down on the Buizel's head when the Pokémon let out a spurt of water, soaking itself in the water. Cocoa landed on the Pokémon's head, knocking it down into the ground, but struggled to find any proper place to bite the soaking-wet Buizel. Eventually the squirming Pokemon struck Cocoa with its tail and sent it back a few metres, and Cocoa looked on, determined to take out this Pokémon. She let out a growl and the Buizel hesitated, stepping back. In this moment, Cocoa charged forward and bit down on the Buizel's left foot, furiously shaking her head and knocking the weasel Pokémon off its feet. The flailing Buizel couldn't find anything to regain its footing, and began to wail.

The sound of the Pokémon's wailing startled Amélia, and she looked at her Pokémon furiously trying to beat up this weasel Pokémon that was the same size as her. It was then that she noticed that her Pokémon was using attacks on her own, but Amy didn't really have any complaints seeing as she hadn't provided another instruction for the Sandile to follow. Eventually the angry little Sandile let go of the Buizel, hurling the weasel into the air. The orange Pokémon landed with a startling thud on the ground, and stopped moving. Amélia looked at the fainted Pokémon with a moment of horror, and then looked at her own Pokémon, who was still staring at the orange lump on the ground ready to attack again. "Okay Cocoa, that's enough. The Buizel isn't even moving at this point, you've beat it." She said, as the Sandile stopped at the sound of her trainer's voice. She looked at her trainer and then back at the unmoving Buizel. The Sandile's face finally relaxed and she trotted into her trainer's arms. "Dile. Dile, dile." She said, as she quickly fell asleep in her trainer's arms, tired from the battle.

Celeste smiled at the two brothers. Most people from school didn't notice her, because she wasn't much of a talker, but on the bus, she was thankful to have such friendly people around her to talk to. No matter how childish they were.

She reached into her bag and pulled out a slightly torn sheet of paper. Sadly, her brother loved going through her stuff, and ended up tearing one of the more important things, but at least it was in decent condition. She scanned the sheet to find out when breakfast was for the trip, to find that it was in a few minutes.

"We'll be having food soon, I suppose." She said as she looked around. They were on the highway, but all she could see was forest for miles. "Perhaps their idea of 'food' is out there." She joked, pointing out into the forest.

She turned again to follow Darry's gaze, and saw that he was watching Tempest. She had glared at the girl who had complained out loud. She then followed Tempest's gaze to see Jay, the blind girl at school. The poor girl was picked on a lot, and those who didn't pick on her were friends out of sympathy. Celeste knew all about it, but Jay had made a point of avoiding her, or hadn't seen her. She shrugged and sighed as she heard all the activity on the bus; hearing that Nate smoked, that people were joining the smoking group, it wasn't that they'd ever get a moment of peace.

"I suppose if we were to get free time, we'd have to avoid the walking cloud of poison." She grumbled quietly as she looked around.

She didn't know many of the people on the bus, but she knew that Ayumi was a good singer, that Nate smoked ( she hadn't known that before ), that the Blair triplets had completely contrasting attitudes, that there was a blind girl on the bus, and there were a huge amount of smokers on the bus. Celeste appreciated the fact that Nate had the decency not to smoke on the bus, though, because she hated the walking cloud of poison, and she didn't want to hate Nate.

The itinerary for that day is just to adjust in the hotel rooms for a little, head out to dinner, and then a couple hours of free time. Is that good?

Fire and flames. Disbelief and fear. The once-happy city of Goldenrod was slowly becoming engulfed in the flames, and there was nothing they could do that could stop it. The dark shadow loomed over her, and she screamed as the earth shook beneath her. Suddenly, a blue figure leapt in front of her, and a white one pushed her away. As she stumbled to the ground beside the blue figure, she recognized it as Leo, her best friend's Sealeo. "Leo? You're going to save me?" She asked as Leo cringed. Brown eyes were raised to look at the beast. It was black, and so much bigger than any Pokemon she'd seen in her life. Her eyes widened as a white figure nudged her away. An Absol...? She couldn't believe it, but the Absol nudged her further and further away from the flames, but she fought against it. "Let me see Leo, please?" She murmured to the Pokemon. The Absol set its gaze on her, but then looked away, as she walked toward Leo. "Leo!" She squeaked. The Sealeo turned to face her, but then the black Pokemon sent a giant Flamethrower toward her. Sealeo, desperate to keep her alive, blasted a giant Water Gun back at the Flamethrower, and nodded to Absol. Before she could say another word, the Absol propped her on its back and ran away. "No! Leo!" She screamed.

Brown eyes widened as she found herself on a gentle flowerbed, with Leah and Luke beside her. Where am I? She wondered as she tried to get up. As she got up, she noticed that Rowlie, her Growlithe, was curled up beside her in a ball. It turns out he did manage to fall asleep after all. She had never seen him so peaceful, ever. She lay back down to support him, but kept her eyes on Leah and Luke. "Did anyone else make it out?" She asked them both. Luke stared but said nothing, and Leah did the same. Normally, Leah would be telling her something. Did something happen between Leah and Luke? She shrugged, moving her brown hair off her shoulders. Whatever the case, it was good to see her Pokemon alive with her. "What happened?" She asked Leah.

Leah closed her pretty red eyes and the scenes of destruction filled Riina's mind. She cringed, seeing what had happened to Leo, and squealed when her friends were all engulfed in either flames or lightning. "Make it stop! Make it stop!" She cried before burying her face in Growlithe's soft fur.

The sound of crying woke up the Growlithe, and he felt a tear strike his fur. He twisted his head around to see Riina crying, and his eyes softened. She had tried to take care of him when he was abused by his trainers, but he had done nothing but ignore her. He liked her cheek gently, against everything he had been taught, and tried comforting the girl. It would be okay. Hopefully.

When she fixed her dark brown eyes on him, it was almost as if everything in the world just froze. She hadn't seen him for years, almost a decade now, and he just shows up again. She wanted to... what did she want to do? She wanted to punch him, to slap him, to hug him, to remind herself that he hadn't died in the big fire that had randomly occurred at his house so many years ago. Rage rushed through her, hurt that he hadn't come back to look for her, anger that he just turned his back on her when she tried to tell him that she was going to leave. Tears stung her eyes as the memories returned to her, and she was speechless as she just studied him.

A grassy meadow, a sunny day. Birds chirping, rabbits hopping. None of those things seemed to affect the two of them, just sitting on the grass in comfortable silence. She wanted to tell him that her parents disapproved of this friendship, that they were going to move away, far, far away from him. They would never be able to do this again. She had protested, argued, screamed at her parents. They were just friends, they probably wouldn't end up as anything more.

She struggled to find the words to explain it to him, but nothing. Her mind refused to accept the fact that this may be the last time she would ever see him, and she didn't care. She got up, and turned to Keiss, giving him one last hug before running off.

It wasn't the last time she'd see him.

Where have you been all this time? She wanted to scream at him. But no words came out of her mouth, and she just stood there frozen, not a word said.

Yelling, words flying through the air. Tension crackling in the atmosphere, eyes narrowed in anger. Leyla wanted to just pull her hair out with frustration.
" My parents are at home arguing, and all you have to say for yourself is that it's not your fault. " She had said, tears threatening to fall. Keiss had just given her a look filled with what had seemed like pity then, but Leyla now knew that it was just his usual look of uncaring.
I'm never going to see you again, Keiss. The words were on the tip of her tongue, and yet she said nothing. At least I expected you to be a little nicer to me, it is my last day here. At last Keiss spoke, but when he spoke, the words stabbed Leyla's heart.

"So what if your parents are arguing? It's not my problem. You're not my problem." He said, turning away from Leyla. When he was finally out of earshot, Leyla let out a strangled sob, and collapsed to the ground crying.

The large timber wolf blinked open jet-black hues and frowned at the lack of light that had filtered into the den. She was exhausted, but now that she was awake, there was no way she was going to be able to go back to sleep. After a night of restless dreaming and the day before spent clearing up argument after argument, this fae was tired beyond belief. She stood up, stretching out her paws, her sore muscles screaming in response, and she winced. What luck she had. Eventually Thistle would have to talk to Talya about her sore muscles, but for now, she just had to make sure every part of her body was working. She wagged her tail, flicked her ears, and moved each paw, making sure that everything was there, and she heard the familiar voice of her Alphess outside of her den. Still yawning tiredly, Thistle padded out and noticed her Alphess Aylias making a speech. Her black eyes flickered with embarrassment. She hadn't meant to sleep through her leader's call, she had just been so bone-tired that she couldn't change that.

Thistle sat back, and looked around. There were quite a few wolves there already, and Thistle, being one of the Safeguard, knew that she was one of the higher ranks among the wolves and needed to set a good example. She knew all of the wolves in the area, since she was in charge of defending them, but she wasn't quite fond of any of them. She shook out her pelt, which had apparently been collecting moss while she slept, and sighed when moss came flying out. She really hadn't been sleeping well.

All that she could recall from her dream was that her father was shouting, and her mother was shouting back. They were just shouting above each other, and neither was listening to the other. Thistle wanted to join their shouts, to protest, to tell them that she was still there, that she was still useful, but her paws were frozen. She couldn't move. Finally, an ultimatum. Her mother glared at her father, and then they were just standing there, almost in a battle being fought in their minds, and Thistle felt her paws moving forward. Both parents' gaze snapped from each other and looked at her, and she shrank back in fear. Thistle didn't want to be yelled at. Eventually, her mother stopped, turned to look at her father, and said the last words Thistle ever heard from her. "Fine. Then we are no longer mates. I renounce you as my mate, and I free you from me, just as I free this little pup from having a mother." She had said. Thistle tried to protest, tried to get her mother back, but her father held her down. "She's gone, Thistle. It's just you and me." He had said finally.

The beautiful timber wolf snapped out of her recollections and finally focused on her alphess again. She didn't want to miss anything else important.

Az's attention was captured by the encounter between the Aron and the Aggron holding the egg, and he fluttered off to watch the situation, and Cass nearly peed herself laughing when the Wingull momentarily forgot he was a Wingull and tried to run like a Zorua. The battling Pokemon seemed to have quite the different personalities, which was rather strange considering the motherly Aggron was such a foreign idea to her. Such a huge Pokemon trying to carefully take care of an egg, but it seemed fitting, seeing the Pokemon. After noticing the black-haired girl with the Venipede in her bag, Cass let her attention wander a little. People were gathered around the fight, which Cass thought was stupid, considering when Pokemon existed, fights were everywhere.

Whilst scanning the skies, she noticed a bright pink head on a rooftop, surrounded by other dark figures. Cass couldn't make out the shapes or anything more, but her attention was definitely drawn to this group of people on a rooftop. She didn't want to get her hopes up, but she also really wanted something to do in this new city she didn't recognize. Reaching into her pocket, Cass released Nyx, her Honchkrow. The dark blue bird stood in front of her, letting out a cheerful but surprised chirp after being released so soon after flying her trainer to this faraway land. "Sorry, Nyx. But we might have something interesting on our hands, so I want you to check it out, okay? You know the drill. They're up on that rooftop." She said, casually gesturing to the building that the bright pink head was seen on. Normal people didn't hide out on rooftops with other dark-coloured individuals, and Cass knew that she had to get to the bottom of this. Or else her curiosity might kill her. Or her inaction.

Trying not to look strange studying rooftops, Cass turned her attention back to the easiest thing to study - the interaction between the Aron and Aggron and their respective trainers. And the random girl who charged in. The Aggron was definitely stronger than most Pokemon, and Cass studied the trainer of the Pokemon, with the silver hair. Meanwhile, the Aron was definitely a feisty little thing, and stranger than that was the fact that the trainer of the Pokemon physically picked up the little runt and tossed him into the ground. It seemed like trainers these days were stranger and stranger with their training and disciplining habits, but Cass really could not imagine a better way to deal with the feisty Aron. Their talk about food made Cass a little hungry, but she ignored it for the moment.

Until the little Aron was put down and moments later ran into its trainer. Cass narrowed her eyes at the trainer, who had been knocked face-first into the ground and had only just gotten up. Was he a new trainer? He definitely did not carry himself the same way a new trainer did - he had far too much confidence - but the way his Pokemon was acting out definitely showed that he was a new trainer. Her stomach growled loudly, disrupting her thoughts, and Cass glanced around to look for someplace to get a quick bite to eat, not just for her, but for her Pokemon as well.

In the air, Nyx flew by a few buildings, scanning the area, and narrowly avoiding a group of Wingull squawking together. Nyx scoffed a little at the sight of them. Those birds always seemed to have feathers for brains, and these Wingull only proved the stereotype correct. She flew by the area with the bright pink head, and noticed a group of people spraying something on the wall. The Honchkrow took note of this, and then allowed the wind to take control, so she didn't look like she was watching the rooftop people. What she completely missed was the draft that sent her right into the pink-haired trainer on the rooftop.

I get lost in the beauty, everything I see.

As Darius quite bluntly stated, "Will you two love birds come out from there. We've apparently got better matters to take care of. You two can confess your love for one another after we're finished." She had noticed Alex's blush, but more importantly, her face grew warm as well. She watched in horror as Alex stepped back with his fists clenched. Was he mad at her? Had she done something wrong? Not only that, had the rest of the Suns done something wrong to him? She was left speechless when he shoved Darius out of the way, words just unable to come out of her mouth. Why was he kicking everything?

Hailey watched in horror as Alex let out a chain of expletives, and when Alex's gaze met hers, she was about to speak when he tore away and kicked down the door. Is he going to get us a new door? And how in the world could he have enough strength to kick down that door? She wondered as she heard him screaming just outside the door. However; she wasn't moving from the kitchen. She wasn't ready for them to start making fun of her. She was unable to hear most of what the other person was saying, but she definitely caught that last line. "Burn like you burned my father!" Her eyes widened in dismay and disbelief, and the smoke began to rise through the door. Someone was burning the house. She was about to react when Ackerley grabbed her hand and dragged her out the door, throwing her at Alex.

A memory crossed her mind, like something she had gone through but didn't remember. "You think you can just ******* leave with your ******* child and that's gonna be it? She's my ******* child, too!" Someone was swearing, swearing at who?
"She's not your child, not after what you made us both go through." A calm voice, coming from the lady holding her arm. She didn't seem too old...Hailey looked around. Where am I? She wondered.
"Get the ******* **** back here." She looked at the man swearing. I was his child...and hers? She wondered, staring at the man, then redirecting her gaze at the lady holding her hand.
The lady just grabbed her hand and ran away, just as she heard gunshots. She watched in horror as the bullets streaked past her, and struck the lady in the head. The lady tripped, and threw Hailey forward.
"Run, Hailey! Run..." She said as Hailey hesitated for a moment, and then turned to run like it was her job.

As Hailey snapped out of it, she looked around, seeing a burning building, the other four Suns, and some other people she didn't recognize. She was dizzy, and everything was spinning around her. She put a hand on her forehead. Not only that, she was burning up, too. She knelt down on the ground. I need a break...

The world ain't half as bad as they made it to be.

He was finally here. At this new school called Abrax Academy, where he would learn what god or goddess had blessed him, and why. As he stepped in through the entrance, a sign hovered before him and he had to do a double-take. What the... He thought as a map landed before him, and he grabbed it and raced into the building before anything else weird could happen to him. What the heck was that? He wondered as he stepped into his room and dropped off his stuff. He looked around the room, noticing how grand the room was compared to the one he had at home, and how clean it looked. With Ben in it, chances were that it wouldn't stay clean for very long. If he had a roommate, he hoped that they wouldn't mind his lack of organization skills. Or his lack of understandable organizational skills. He knew where everything was, it was just a matter of other people knowing where it was that the problem lay.

He looked at the table, seeing a letter addressed to him, and he skimmed through it quickly. According to the letter, Ben was blessed by Aether, the god of Heavenly Light and the Upper Air. Whoever that was. He had never heard of such a god until just now, but he wasn't going to question it. In the letter, it mentioned that he could manipulate air and emit light from his palms, and he frowned a little. Really? That was the best that the gods could do for him? Make him a walking flashlight? He grumbled to himself before seeing that there was a meeting in the auditorium. Perhaps he would be able to see Noelle again! He thought as he picked up the map and walked around, looking for the auditorium. Seeing the door, he slipped into the auditorium, and he noticed that there weren't too many people inside yet, and he settled into a seat before looking around and seeing a head of long red hair. No one else could have hair that noticeable but Noelle. Ben got up and approached the head, seeing another girl beside her, and he sat down beside the redhead, recognizing the girl as Noelle. His heart stopped for a moment. She was even more beautiful than he had thought. In the year that she had been gone, she had definitely grown taller and much more beautiful. It took a moment for him to get his heart to continue beating and so that he didn't look like he was staring at her.

"Hey, Noelle! I haven't seen you in a year or so!" Ben said, hoping that she would remember who he was.

        THIS IS WHITE SPACE (:

Humans. They always seemed to get on her nerves for some reason. Everything about them just seemed to bother her. They would call each other hypocrites, and act like the thing they complained about, and everything they complained about was just an amplified version of what they were like on the inside. At least as a so-called "villain", Ariadne could go around killing as many people as she liked without having to explain why. As a human, stoning women for cheating on their husbands was considered "humane". Nothing about humans made sense, and thankfully, because she didn't have to waste her brain cells trying to figure out how the stupid creatures worked and just had to diminish their population.

Now Ariadne - or Frost, as they called her nowadays - was sitting on top of a tall building, staring down at the buildings below, at the little ants below her. From her vantage point, she could see the humans walking around, doing their little "routines". It was a stranger of habit that was most easily killed, for they always returned to the same place, always heading in the same direction. Frost had been following this one man for days. He'd gone around, picking out young women from his hiding spot in the alley, and pulling them away so he could pleasure himself. Now it was humans like this that spoiled life for the rest of them, doing things only to amuse himself, but not caring a whit about the repercussions that could follow. Or the repercussion that was currently following him. Why was she following a rapist anyways? Shouldn't she - as a supposed "villain" - just be going around and killing everybody?

Why did people think in such black-and-white-ness? Personally, Ariadne felt that humans always had to send things in extremes to understand it. Just because she wasn't acting for the good of the world didn't make her any more of a villain than the average person. But it was a good thing, she supposed, that they considered her a villain, right? Then she could just kill and kill and not care. No matter what people they were than Ariadne killed. She supposed it was a good thing for now, but she didn't know how she would react if they noticed that she was only killing bad humans for now. She'd rather be a villain than a human, she supposed.

Seeing the man jump out at a female, Ariadne dropped from the top of the building, slowing her descent with the cold air around her, and eventually landed with a soft pat on the ground behind the man. As soon as he dragged the female into the alley, Ariadne grinned in greeting to the man, waved, and lifted him off of the ground with one hand, causing him to drop the girl. The girl, of course, wasted no time before she ran, without even sparing a look at the man.

"So how would you like to die today, Mister?" She said, smiling brightly at the man, whose eyes looked like they were about to fall out of their sockets. "Would you like to be pelted with hail, have your blood frozen within you, or have your blood frozen?" She asked, as the man's eyes came damned close to falling out. "You wanted your blood frozen? Oh, why didn't you say so?" She asked, before she dropped the man on his feet, and a loud snap! reverberated through his body. Ariadne concentrated her energy on freezing the liquid inside him, and as the man's eyes froze over, she smiled brightly. As he stopped struggling and eventually froze over, Ariadne took to the skies again, abandoning the frozen body on the ground.

                                              A job well done.

Feeling another presence in the clearing, she found herself turning around to see a boy staring at her, and by his walk towards her, she could tell that well, he was male. A free... what? Ticket, like the one clenched in his hand as well? Oh, he got one too. That was strange, the people who gave her the ticket had told her that she had been drawn randomly out of a huge pool of people, she hadn't been told that other people had been drawn too. Did this mean they just handed out tickets to everyone? Did this mean that she really wasn't that special after all? Arianna grimaced and turned to look at the new person, who was wearing the school uniform from her school. She didn't quite seem to recognize his face though, or his personality. Or anything about him, for that matter. From the way he was stuttering and staring at her, she could tell that he, like all other people in the world, was studying her, judging her by the clothes she was wearing, the aura she was emitting. He too, she could tell, was going to write her off as a rich girl.

"Hi, yes I did get a free ticket, did you too?" She said, her voice darkening at the end. She glanced at him, giving him a once-over. She could tell, that beneath the stupid school uniform that made everyone look skinny (and the fat people fatter) that he was actually quite muscular, in a way that would make most girls swoon. But she wasn't one of those girls. Not anymore. Handsome boys were only death traps for the stupid, needy girls. And after Matt, Arianna knew that there was no way she would put any trust in a male again. Just look at what had happened with her father. He'd married her mother for the money, and then divorced her to take even more of the family's money, and found a better trophy wife. And what had happened from there? Well, the trophy wife was away getting her 32nd liposuction, or something, from what Arianna last remembered. Everything about the world made Arianna want to work harder to be further away from both her family - and its riches - and men.

She frowned at the boy, who seemed to be noticeably more attractive than the average boy - even more than Matt had been, but who was counting - and she turned away from him, turning to look back up at the stars. They were really pretty tonight, and away from civilization, she could see the full beauty that the sky had to offer, instead of just a measly glimmer in the sky thanks to light pollution.

                                                    will you love me?
even with my dark side ?

She'd been about to leave when a child approached her, eyes wide but brimming with confidence. "Wait! I want to battle you!" He screamed, his hands already on his Pokeballs. She sighed, her mind set with a rejection, asking him to come back ... whenever she did, but seeing the way his eyes shone with enthusiasm ready to spill over, she sighed patiently and turned to look at him as he sent out a Pikachu, the Pokemon's eyes shining with the same enthusiasm as the trainer's, and Athena found herself smiling. She hadn't seen enthusiasm like this for a long time. Most trainers didn't make it through the first three elite four members, and even fewer made it past her. Calmly, she sent out Moros, her Bisharp, and as he landed on the ground, the boy before her, flame-red hair flaring out, called for his Pikachu to use Thundershock. Recalling the Pokemon type matchup training that her mother had drilled her on for years, Athena frowned at the boy's poor choice in moves, and before the Pikachu had fully unleashed the electric blast, she called out. "Dig, Moros." The Bisharp quickly dug under the battlefield, just as the electric blast hit the ground where Moros had once been. The Pikachu glanced around, confused, just as her Bisharp came out of the ground behind the Pikachu, blades bared. As soon as the Pikachu was hit, it was sent flying and the pokemon landed with a thud on the floor, still, unmoving. "Look, kid, I don't know how you got all the way to this room, but I don't have time for this. I have somewhere to be right now, and your team isn't going to survive very long against me. Train more and come back in a few weeks, okay?" Athena asked as she turned away from the boy, looking disappointed. She felt momentarily bad for him, so she approached the kid, who probably wasn't that much younger than she was, and Athena smiled slightly at the boy. "I'm kind of in a hurry, so come back in a few weeks. I promise you a full 6 on 6 battle then, and I won't leave partway through, okay?" She asked, before the boy nervously nodded and Athena took off through the hidden entrance to her room in the Pokemon League, ending up outside with Moros by her side. "That was a good battle, Moros. I'm proud of you. Return." She said, as she returned her Pokemon to his Pokeball, before pulling out a different one, and grabbing the bag that she'd left by the door.

"Go Aphrodite!" She cried out as a blue-and-black bat came out of her Pokeball, and cried out with her name, "Swoobat!". Athena smiled at the pretty Pokemon, and nodded. "Fly, Aphrodite! Fly to Atilla Town." The Pokemon complied, and Athena reached up for the Swoobat to glide down to sweep her off her feet, literally. Over the course of the journey to the Novus region, Athena could see the various regions below her, and recognized the cities she'd been to. She smiled, before she found herself in an area she didn't recognize, probably the Novus region now. It had a sense of foreboding that Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Unova lacked, but it made Athena very uncomfortable in the area. Let's hope this mission doesn't take very long and I can be back home in a few weeks. She thought to herself, as she tightened her grip on the pink bag over her shoulder, and Aphrodite began her descent into a dark town with a sense of evil around it.

As they landed, Athena returned Aphrodite to her Pokeball, thanking the Courting Pokemon and pulling out Zeus' Pokeball. If she was going to be here, she might as well be safe in this "Atilla Town". "Zeusy! Come on out!" She said as the released the Pokeball, and out popped a Manectric. The Discharge Pokemon nuzzled her hand before the two of them walked towards the big red building - the Pokemon Centre, she hoped. She opened the door and walked in, and looked for the person she was supposed to be looking for - Evan, right? Evan what...?

"Does anyone know where I can find ... an ... Evan?" She asked slowly, hoping someone would listen to her, but all it seemed to be to her was people giving her dark looks, like they were suspicious of her. She shuddered and inched closer to Zeus. Arceus almighty, these people made her uncomfortable.

Blue wings flapped and brunette hair waved in the wind as the dark/flying pokemon neared Santi City. She was ready for her mission, on a hunt for a notorious Team Rocket member. She'd heard many stories of this person, but she'd yet to hear a description that would give her any clues as to who to look for and how to look for said person. She'd be here in this region for a long time, seeing as she had no leads and an entire region to cover. Thank the blessed Arceus that she was allowed to spend as much time being a teenager as possible. She'd have to take breaks or else she'd go insane. As the pokemon centre neared her vision, the blue-feathered pokemon lowered her gently towards the ground in front of the red building, and as her feet touched the floor, the blue pokemon flew up into the sky in one final arc before the girl retrieved the empty pokeball and returned her pokemon to it. "Thanks, Nyx." She whispered to the pokeball containing her Honchkrow.

Where to now? She mused to herself, as she looked around the city. She noticed a big gym off to one side, and perhaps it'd be interesting to go check it out, perhaps even battle it. Whatever type it was, she was bound to be able to take it down, seeing as she was well-trained in battling and more than capable of taking down a measly gym. Walking towards it, she pulled out a cherish ball and released the pokemon within. In a bright flash of light, a jackal-headed pokemon appeared, and with a growl of greeting, the Lucario smiled at the brunette, walking over to stand at her side.

"I think we should take on this pokemon gym." She said, grinning at the pokemon, who grimaced in response. "What's wrong, Ruka?" She asked, expression shifting to one of worry. The Lucario let out a bark as she watched the smaller children with their eager little pokemon walk into the gym. There wasn't even going to be a challenge. How disappointing. The Lucario shook her head and turned away from the gym, much to Cass' dismay. "Come on, Ruka, you can't do this! You'll make a scene in front of everyone just because you don't want to battle someone easy?" The Lucario nodded and Cassiopeia frowned. "You've got to be kidding, Ruka!" She said, frowning.
