                      [Name]
                          Aegar Valerius

                      [Titles and Nickname(s)]
I fight for no allegiance but my own, therefore I have earned no title other than the one I have bestowed upon myself, Crimson Thunder. Most people refer to me as reckless and hot-headed, but those are not very well nicknames.

                      [Age]
About 25,347 years. You really do begin to lose track after a while and counting is just absurd.

                      [Gender]
I am a man, through and through.

                      [Sexuality]
Should I have time for such meager distractions, I would prefer females.

                      [Occupation]
I am currently working as a farm hand.

                      [Species]
A glorious dragon of the lightning element.

                      [Powers and Abilities]
                          ◈ Battle-Hardened:
Aegar has been battling since day one and has survived many fights, duels and skirmished with other dragons and humans. His knowledge of battle is exceptional and his scales are toughened due to numerous scars. Extra strength also comes from his war-like practices.

                          ◈ Heightened Senses:
Being a dragon, Aegar has better-than-human senses. His vision is sharper, his hearing is better, he can smell a threat from far away and he can react faster. His sense of taste and touch are still average, but who really needs better versions of those?

                          ◈ Increased Speed:
Lightning travels fast and so do lightning dragons. Aside from reacting faster than most, they can travel great distances much more quickly. This excess speed doesn't benefit activities that require finesses (such as building a fence), but it does allow one to easily chase down and enemy or prey.

                          ◈ Transformation:
Aegar can transform at whim between his human and dragon form. After much practice, he can also revert parts of his human body back to his toughened dragon scales as a means of defense. In order to fly however, he still has to return to the form of a full dragon.

                          ◈ Will To Survive:
His fights weren't for nothing. All his young life Aegar had to fight for food or fight for water. Anything he needed to survive was another brawl with his brothers. More than power, Aegar desires to live, meaning he'll do anything to keep himself out of a fight he isn't ready for or out of the way of a deadly attack (even if it requires a meat shield).

                          ◈ Razor Sharp Claws:
Aegar has razor sharp talons, ideal from swopping down and spearing prey and then shredding it, no matter the toughness. While they are only available to him in his dragon form, they are a useful tool.

                          ◈ Lightning Fists:
To replace his talons in human form, Aegar has mastered the art of pulling his inner lightning around the different body parts of his human form to imbue them with the electrical element. This gives his hits a bit more of a punch and can singe foes. However it comes as a double-edged sword. If he leaves it on long enough, the lightning will also singe his own scales which he used as a barrier for this ability.

                          ◈ Lightning Breath:
The signature move of a dragon, their breath attack. Aegar can spew electrical energy from his mouth in either dragon or human forms. The results conglomeration of lightning is incredibly hot and easily conducted through a living body.

                  ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀ Background ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀

                  [Biography]
Aegar was not born into the most forgiving of families. The youngest of many brothers, he was thrust into a world where he had to fight for his very survival. His mother cared little about distribution of resources, just that the food was present. Truly she was cold-blooded in both mind and body. Aegar's father, also from a band of brothers, enforced the idea that the fittest survived. A weakling would not be able to defend their clans hunting grounds. All were for the sake of the clan, not the clan for the sake of all. The one that produced the best results would be appointed the new clan leader each year, no matter which family their hailed from.

The other purpose the struggle to survive enforced was population control. The clan could only grow so large before the hunting ground was not enough to sustain them. When the young men slaughtered each other for food and power, the population was brought down. The females had it no easier. The clan was kinder to them, as women were needed to continue the lineage, but should the number of women exceed that of men, they quickly slew each other for the right to a mate. Overall, the lightning dragon's were a brutal clan.

Aegar brawled and tussled with his brother's for food, quickly getting fed up with the everyday struggle. He soon developed a bloodlust, eliminating his competitors in moments of weakness. Rather than being infuriated by the slaughter of his brothers, his parents praised him. His father believed he was heading down the proper path to become the strongest dragon in the clan and his mother simply went along with his father's pleasure. The idea that he would struggle for the top being imposed on him infuriated Aegar. Was he so weak that he needed to struggle for something?

Reaching the peak of his growth, Aegar slew his father and mother, disappointed in their weak wills. The food her brought home wasn't to be shared with those who wished him to struggle for a position he deserved. He'd been raised to be strong. He'd bested all his brothers as his father had done and he'd worked hard to better the position of the clan. However, the hot-headed Aegar had horrendously misjudged the competition. The range of gifts within the clan was far greater than he'd initially expected. Families were often distant from one another and like most children, Aegar had imagined his world the hardest. There were other dragons though that far exceeded his age and experience that came from the same background.

No matter, he was still strong. He had slain his father who had been far older. Aegar would just have to prove himself. The opportunity soon arose. A war broke out with the humans to reclaim lost hunting grounds of numerous dragon clans. Aegar delved eagerly into the war, ready to show his skills. No glory came to him however. The war was swiftly ended by a treaty, restricting the dragons from killing the humans. Outraged, he turned his strength toward the clan. He'd announced that the strongest should lead and took on the current leader. Outwitted and overpowered by the elder, more experienced dragon, he fled the clan with wounds flesh and pride.

Taken in and nurtured by a lowly human in his twilight hours, he was overwhelmed by a feeling of gratefulness for the first time. Had it not been for the human woman, he'd have bled out and perished. The experience increased his wisdom, something he would be sure never to underestimate again. During recovery, Aegar realized that he was healing faster than normal. He'd had his share of battles and wounds normally took far longer to heal. Interested in the power being utilized by the human who cared for him, he opted to stay behind, making up some excuse about repaying his debt. While he was grateful, he hardly felt indebted to her. A human should have been honored to care for a great dragon such as himself.

Aegar remains on the farm where he was cared for, seeking a way to steal his boss's abilities and claim them for his own. Pleased that she is unaware of her latent magical ability, he bides his time, gaining strength and knowledge before stealing her power and challenging his clan leader once more. While he does expect that stealing her power will kill her, Aegar is protective of his boss, not wishing to lose her unique abilities to anyone else.

                  [Personality]
Aegar has a lust for battle and as such, prefers the aggressive solution to most problems. He is self-centered and arrogant, believed he is the rightful leader of the clan and that by far he is (or will be) the most powerful dragon alive. His desire to become the strongest makes him rather selfish and he'd do anything to gain more power, be it deceiving the woman who saved his life and murdering her or eating innocent children. From his lost battle against the clan leader, he has garnered an appreciation for wisdom and patience. Though delving into either trait has done little to cure him of his self-obsession. Aegar is very possessive of the things he deems as his. Sharing is not his strong suit and he believes that every man and woman is for themselves.

                      [Side Notes]

                          ◈ Weapons:
Aegar believe that it is shameful for a dragon to use weapons other than their own body. They have such great gifts naturally, there is no need for a weapon. However there are some items useable as weapons around the farm.

                          ◈ Relationships:
Aegar has slain all his family and the only relationship he has built since is with his current boss. Even though he expects that stealing her power will likely kill her, he is rather protective of her, deeming her and her abilities a part of his hoarde and for no one else to have. All the same, the possessiveness would seem odd, so he treats her normally, often teasing and tormenting her issues with focus and acting overwhelmed by the work he has to do.

                          ◈ Theme Song:

                          ◈ Other:
•Aegar struggled every day with not eating the livestock that the farm has managed to replenish.
•He secretly respects the knowledge and effort his boss has and puts into the farm. If any human deserved the land they lived on, it would be her.
•Aegar often ends up getting into arguments and even brawls with villagers when they try and offer measly amounts for the produce he is selling.

                                                          ~ ◈ ~

For the love of all things alive…at the very least he wouldn't be much longer. For what seemed like the fifth time that morning, Eyra had made and error in her driving of the wagon. It was bad enough she'd only been able to milk one cow while he'd milked three, but she was running the wagon off the path, almost grazing passerby and any number of other dangerous practices. "Stop! Stop! I am driving." As if she had a choice. Taking his employer by the shoulders, he stood precariously on the step to get up to the wagon's seats before shifting her over to the passenger side and taking the reins himself. "You are a hazard." She put up little fight to his sudden take over. It was likely she knew the reasoning for it.

The rest of the trip proceeded in mostly silence. There was the occasional round of the brunette woman pointed out things she deemed interesting, but he paid them little mind. The fascinations of humans were a bore and even after two years with the dim-witted woman he felt no different. He love of life and nature was in no means spectacular, just proof of her simple mind. When they at last arrived at the city, he maneuvered through the crowd with finesse. How foolish it was to drive a wagon. He could fly the whole day's goods on his own in a quarter of the time.

However it was far from his best interests to let the girl beside him know he was a dragon. She's never seemed opposed to them, but humans were fickle creatures. It'd be a disaster if she suddenly feared him and told him to leave the farm. He had yet to steal what she had of value. Normally, a dragon would only horde the material, but Aegar wished to horde power as well, something Eyra actually possessed. Nodding to her trivial line of encouragement, he positioned himself in the back of the wagon when they'd set up shop, content to hand items down to her. It quickly became clear that being a merchant was her calling for the day. After the first few transactions went well, he zoned out a bit more, content that she'd be fine handling such a mundane task on her own.

All the better. His methods to difficult customers often scared off more business than attracted it. How could one really expect a dragon to have patience with such measly creatures. Catching wind of her boastfulness of doing well, he sneered. "You still drove us off the road. I would not be talking until you sold the whole lot, novice." As always, she simply laughed at him. He was serious. She knew how to do things, but for the most part she was helpless due to her apparent single-mindedness. As far as he was concerned, such a handicapped made her sub-human, not that humans ranked highly on his scale in the first place.

A few hours passed before he was finally offered lunch. What a nuisance. Human food was atrocious and she'd made it that morning, meaning in likely tasted of an omelette since her mind had been far gone before they arrived at the market. Aegar would much rather eat Bessie than her silly little sandwich. Munching on the human delicacy with a stoic expression, he watched carefully as she hoisted the basket of feed for the aged bovine that had pulled their cart. Bessie had been the first cow they'd gotten when the farm was up and running. The price was cheap because the owner had thought she was dying. Under Eyra's care, the cow had lasted far beyond that initial due date. If was fascinating.

Catching himself staring, he quickly looked away. "Eyra, do not you think it is time to turn that cow into meat? She is getting old." What did he know though? Everything he knew about human farms had come from Eyra. Such a pointless task would normally be well beneath him, but he had to play the part if he was going steal the valuable abilities that lay dormant within his boss. He could only speculate on what they may be, but with the noticeable effects of her faith and effort, it was clear they were to be something amazing. She was quick to give him an appalled look at the question of Bessie's fate. They'd only lost two animal thus far. One was a sheep that was lost to a wolf. Little they could do about recovering it.

The other animal however had been an old chicken. Eyra had waited until the animal was clearly on it's last thread of life before butchering it. Despite the good meat it produced, a meal she'd actually managed to make taste as it should, she never seemed happy about it. For Aegar, the mindset of being so attached to the animals made no sense to him. Their meat was another of their resourced and when their other production had dropped, such as that of Bessie's milk, it was the proper thing to do to capitalize on what the animal had left. From a business perspective, her resilience in letting the animals live as long as possible seemed foolish.

                                                          Same as the other post.
