The noise was deafening. It was not her first time being exposed to such chaos of a battlefield and deep down inside Lyllith knew that it would never be her last. As the others within the room found their bearings and made for the loot, Lyllith kept an eye out for any immediate threats. Strength was going to come from numbers and Lyllith needed this escape to succeed. This was their one chance and she was not going to blow it by being too hasty. As she scanned toward the walkway, her keen eye caught the sight of other Debtors who seemed to be distracted by something within the feast hall.

Lyllith turned to face Lenae but before she could finish her sentence, there was an explosion. The impact of the eruption caused Lyllith to lose her footing slightly as she grabbed onto a nearby crate, knocking over another in her attempts to stay upright losing sight of the others within the feast hall. When her eyes returned, they were now gone. โAre you all alright?โ Lenaโs voice snapped Lyllith back to the task at hand. Her eyes returning back to the group Calico and Oga having taken the brunt of the debris as others assisted their fellow Debtors off the floor. This was not a great start however, they had to keep moving. As the group gathered themselves, they made their way toward the feast hall. Lyllith bringing up the rear as she paused beside Lenae at the head of the group, she heard a faint โOh s**t.โ escape from the Paladinโs lips. Standing before them was a monstrosity, a grotesque squid-like creature that seemed to have been the source of what had incapacitated the Debtors earlier.
Lyllith could feel disgust rise inside her as she watched the being float amongst the merregon and imps, they were no match. She could feel her desire to dispatch the monster right then and thereโto feel her whip strike the flesh of evilโโWe can escape through there, if we keep our heads down, and leave the rest of the merregon and imps to the mindflayer.โ Lenaeโs words cut through her almost trance like state almost immediately. Mindflayerโฆ This was the monster that was before them and Lenae was suggesting that they run? Lyllith could feel her mood sour. This was against everything she prided herself for. It was the reason for her to remain in the realm of the living to bring the end to all the beings such as this and Lenae wanted her to run? Lyllith held her tongue.
"Do you think we can make it?" Calico asked meekly. Lyllith turned to face the rest of the group and only then did it hit her. Oga and Calico were fairly wounded from just the initial blast, they were not fit to engage in battle with such a being it would be a death sentence. As much Lyllith wanted to engage in combat, freedom for herself and the others meant more. If she were to risk their lives, there was no guarantee that they would survive and then what? 3 of them would make it to the nautiloid. "We have to." Gremory stated adamantly. "Don't worry. Just follow along and you'll be safe."
Lyllith breaking her silence nodded in agreement. โLetโs find seek safe passage and be discreet, I will hold the rear to ensure that we make it all safely, Lenae if you could possibly take the lead and Gremory make sure that Oga and Calico are not injured any further,โ she asked the paladin and the archer. If they proceeded in this formation, it would surely increase their odds of survivalโฆ right?
Before the group took a step, Gremory quickly pointed a finger. Lyllith followed with her eyes as she pointed out a route for the group to take. "There. If we sneak along the wreckage, we can get past that squid. But we need to be careful." Nodding in agreement Lyllith held onto her newly acquired whip tightly in her hand. If they were to be attacked at the rear, she had to be ready. โAfter you,โ Lyllith said with a smile to Lenae.
