Hey all~ We're looking to hire on another 3-ish colorists (full time, part time, and guest status~) down in post 13. Also looking for a couple more mods to help brainstorm metaplot stuff and keep the thread active! There'll be Main mods, which caters to people that more or less live on gaia, and Mini mods, that'll help out more with planning and pre-event coordination as well as casual RP modding *but I'm bad at organizing info, so it's all play-by-ear right now, lol*

Welcome to Panthera Pixiu

Pixiu (pii-zu) are a chinese 'chimera-like' creature with the body of a lion, a birds wings, and horns. They are said to bring wealth and fend off evil spirits.



Size
Full grown Pixiu stand 3 feet at the shoulder, somewhat larger than your average lion. They are roughly 6 feet long, nose to rump, their tails adding another 6 feet. Mini Pixiu are similar in size to a house cat, and often mistaken for cubs.

Family
Pixiu are a monogendered creature. They are not male. They are not female. They just are. Any two Pixiu can produce offspring. Pixiu parents will look over their youngs totems until they are able to take on a corporeal form, guarding them fiercely. A typical litter produces about 4 offspring, though the size can range from 3 to 6 cubs.

Diet
Pixiu have two main sources of food. The first is precious metals. Gold, silver, and some gems will make up the physical part of their diet. Their second form of prey comes from devouring evil spirits, much like the ones they ward against. While metals will fuel their physical powers, evil spirits will sustain their magical powers. A successful guardian is a powerful guardian. A guardian that is lax in it's duties will quickly find itself weaker in spiritual prowess.

Totem

A simple carved charm. A fetish to carry with you shrouded in superstition and ancient lore.
Just a charm, and nothing more.














Cub
Grows from totem to cub in about 1 week.

It's a babby!
Cubs tend to be curious, playful, and adventurous, sometimes to a fault. They tend to stay with their parents, or adoptive parents, for quite a while, not able to effectively defend themselves from the stronger evil spirits. A cub left on it's own is in grave danger, indeed.




















Beast : Shou
Grows from cub to beast in about 3 weeks.
This is the default adult stage.

The pixiu has reached it's adult form. It's spiritual powers have matured and it is ready to fend off dark spirits to protect itself, its family, and its keeper.
















Guardian : Wei Bao

At least one solo RP and at least 3 RP focusing on battling dark spirits and winning.

Special Event

It takes diligence and many battles to reach these heights. As a guardian, it's spiritual power has reached its peak through protecting its charges from evil and pure meditation. There are few forces that can challenge a guardian, but they do exist, and no regular pixiu would be able to stand against them. Guardians, while few and far between, are essential to keeping balance. Without them, all would be lost.

Special Event

This Pixiu is barely a shell of it's former self. It has fallen far, loss after loss weakening its spiritual abilities to nearly nil and been made easy prey for a dark spirit to over power. This new 'creature' is anything but weak, however, and a force to be reckoned with. Controlled by a darker spirit, it revitalizes the spiritual abilities of the original pixiu, mixing them with it's own to create a monster even a guardian would find a formidable foe.















Bonus: Minis
Note, Mini's are a single stage, non-growing Pixiu offshoot, but they are still eligible for the guardian stage.

It's cute, tiny, and not nearly as potentially ferocious as the Beastly ones. These are roughly the size of a house cat, acting much the same, too. Though, headbumps from these little guys tends to be a bit less... adorable and a tiny bit more concussive.

Breeding among Pixiu is a mixing of ki. When two Pixiu come together, the spiritual overlap will sometimes physically manifest in the form of a talisman or totem. Once these tiny charms are formed, the energy they contain will incubate, absorbing negative energies around it until it is strong enough to take on a life of its own.



Breeding Methods

Basic Breeding
30K
3 to 6 possible offspring

This is a breeding between two owned Pixiu. Breeding Regulars with Minis will have a 25% chance (per cub) that it will be a mini. Breeding two Mini will have a 50% chance of Mini offspring. Each owner may keep one offspring. The rest will find their homes elsewhere. Original owners may try to win extra offspring through raffles, ONLY if certain criteria are met.
1. 20+ people participate in the raffle. Owners may only enter one extra raffle each.
2. 3 RP have been completed (1500 words. RP's may not be reused for future breedings)


Solo Breeding
15K
1 to 3 possible offspring

This is a breeding between one owned Pixiu and one banner* pixiu. The first cub from a Solo breeding will be guaranteed a Regular Pixiu. Additional cubs will have a 25% chance of being a Mini. The original owner may keep one offspring. The rest will find their homes elsewhere.
* Banner Pixiu are the little guys you see up in each of the banners! They are considered wild Pixiu, but they deserve love just like everyone else :3


Mystery Breeding
10K
1 to 3 possible offspring

This style of breeding is similar to the solo breeding, however, the banner* pixiu will be chosen by a roll of the dice.


Custom Breeding
20K per cub
Max 6 offspring

This breeding can be between two owned Pixiu, or as a Solo breeding. Cubs will be semi-customed, with key points from both parents pointed out for each cub that the owner(s) would like shown.

Here's the short run!
We'll always be open for guest colorists, at least.

Right now, I'd like to hire on anywhere from 2 to 5 additional colorists.
Unless something comes up with needing extra funds for something else, Colorists get 100% of gold made on flatsales, raffles, breedings, customs, auctions, etc, and will also be able to make 3 customs per month for themselves or for friends(this doesn't stack, however).





I'll do more detailed info stuff later for that.





Right now, if you'd like to apply, just send some COLORING examples (edit examples aren't necessary, but can be included and should be marked as such) via PM to Panthera Pixiu, as well as a general guess on how many you'd be able to do a month, if you'd prefer to be a guest colorist, part time, or full time (only part time and full time may open for customs, and only full time may open for breedings), How often you're actually on gaia (24 hours is an acceptable time, no matter what anyone says XD. a day or two a week is fine too), and if you'd also be interested in taking on some moderator/RP mod duties.









We're also looking for a couple people that would be interested in JUST doing mod duty, both in shop and in guild for RP.

Regular mod duties would include co-organizing flatsales/events, making sure things are updated, managing lists, etc. Note, all these are shared duties. If you'd like to run an event solo, that event will be all yours, though.

RP mod duties would include activity checks in guilds, keeping the peace (PRP intruders/god-moders, etc), checking rp logs for perks when needed, keeping the guild active...ish, lol.
