Good evening everybody – hope the day and the night is treating you well. Today I'm Santa's Babies' Pimp, the merry man who brings you joy and ho-ho-hos in the dark of the night; particularly if you aren't sleeping. Bipolar Bear started his protoformical life as an ordinary polar bear Hyte, but due to an unfortunate incident with Belle and Eggnog, quickly discovered a newfound existence as Bipolar Bear. Half the time [read: half the stages] he is as sweet as any angel who ever graced Christmas, the other half…let’s just say it’s not pretty, and we mean not pretty, [In other words, you have been warned.] But don’t worry – he’s guaranteed to grow up into a well-adjusted young adult who loves nothing better than to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. [Which means that if you actually want him to grow up into a chain-smoking grump, you’ll have to RP him to the career stage…]

. Points to Note About Bipolar Bear .
♠ His Adult Stage does not come with a Tektek’d outfit option – he will either be depicted in the Gaian gift outfit of the season, or one of the Gaian Christmas/Winter store outfits [the owner cannot choose]
♠ He comes depicted with a Christmassy scarf in all stages, and has a mistletoe emblem on his certificate to indicate his special status
♠ Half of his stages are significantly different in temperament from the other half
♠ His Adult Stage is of a pleasant disposition – if the owner chooses to RP him to the Bonus Career Stage, his final appearance will be dependent on the owner’s RP’ing choice

PLEASE NOTE
We do not intend in the slightest to mock the real illness nor its sufferers with Bipolar Bear, and we are aware that the symptoms depicted are not accurate to the real illness. Please do understand that we are merely trying to create a quirky holiday Hyte based off a pop cultural conception of the term and a groan-inducing pun. No offense is intended at all – this is done in fun and good cheer, and we sincerely apologise if there are any who take umbrage at our usage.

Please make sure you've read all the information on this page before buying!

. Raffle Method .
♠ We will be vending tickets for a week - from 6pm PST on 18th December 2007 to 5pm PST on 25th December 2007
♠ There is no limit to the number of tickets, nor to the number of tickets you can buy
♠ You cannot choose the ticket numbers as we are vending them sequentially - apologies!
♠ Please state clearly the number of tickets you are buying
♠ Please post your purchase in the thread in GREEN
♠ After posting - PLEASE INITIATE THE TRADE WITH LABLUE BELLE
♠ Anyone may purchase tickets, and the winner can still purchase Hytes from any subsequent event
♠ The tickets will be consolidated and the winners announced by 6pm PST on 25th December 2007

. About Naming .
♠ Allowed: Proper names from any culture | Most nouns | Heck, most words
♠ Disallowed: Chatspeak | l337 [in most cases] | Lame combination handles [e.g. LadiesMan217, number optional]
♠ Discouraged Culture-specific names unsuitable for cultural context of the Hyte | Overtly dubious fandom names

. About Co-ownership .
♠ Co-ownership is not encouraged, but allowed - if bidding as such, note the different owners but do still calculate and state your total
and make sure the payment trade is from one account alone
♠ There is no guarantee we may be able to fit all your names onto the cert!
♠ HyTech is not liable in case of dispute between owners
♠ If the dispute cannot be settled, the Hyte may be rehomed judging on a case-by-case basis

. Hyte Collection .
♠ The Hyte will be certed and threaded after you inform us of his name
♠ We will then PM you with the cert thread and the cert url
♠ Thereafter, we will PM you after every stage growth with the url of the relevant off-cert graphic
[Remember to keep up your checking-in until your Hyte has matured!]

. TERMS AND CONDITIONS .

Checking-in - While HyTech does not require RP, we do require regular checking-in until the Hyte is fully mature. HyTech will inform owners via PM every time there is a stage progression - thus, checking-in periods are as such:
♠ One cert thread post [or PM] per stage growth
♠ One cert thread post [or PM] every two weeks for non-growth periods
♠ This is only necessary until the pet has reached the adult stage
♠ There is a grace period of a week to make the relevant post
♠ Growth will not commence for the next stage until contact is made
[*RP not necessary - any indication of acknowledgement will suffice] The reason why we require checking in is so we can make sure of contact in time for the outfit customisation of the adult stage. HyTech is usually quite forgiving for up to approximately half a year, but if no contact is forthcoming and everything falls into a state of impending extinction, don't be too surprised if Social Services comes around and decides to rehome one's Hyte...

Return Policy - If the owner tires of the pet, HyTech will accept a return and rehome the pet at reduced prices. As this is a raffle Hyte, we will not offer a refund. While we do not perform exchanges, a previous owner may still purchase other pets in the future.

Speaking in Terms of Reality - While the owner owns the character of the pet and may display the images and certs at will, the art and character design itself is still property of HyTech, and must be credited as such. The artist reserves the right to display or use the artwork and pursue other avenues with the design. All better-sized images are accompanied by a background logo for our image protection - owners may request unmarked versions for the cert threads. Thank you for your understanding!

Before you apply for a Hyte, you really should read all the information in our Shop Thread. Just in case, though, here's a crash course to cover the basics and the most important bits you need to know!

. About the Pets .
♠ 5-stages [RP +1] with unique lineart for each pet past protoform cylinder
♠ Most Hytes take an average of about 3 months to fully mature [not including RP +1]
♠ All pets are breedable - please refer to Shop Thread for details
♠ Roleplaying is not required, only checking-in till Adult stage - please refer to Terms and Conditions for details

♠ Roleplaying is entirely optional
♠ Each pet will come with a cert thread that can be used as an RP journal
♠ RP incentive: extra stage - please refer to Showroom for details
♠ As there is no strict RP storyline, HyTech RP is a casual affair with emphasis on character interaction, particularly among pets.
Through RP, one may be able to influence the final appearance of the Hyte before it reaches the adult stage.

You have unwisely sneaked into the empty HyTech lab area during a Christmas guided tour, only to find yourself locked in with a rampaging polar bear cub and only the above three items [you need not use all three] in reach. On one hand you cannot hurt the polar bear cub as he is almost certainly important to the event, on the other hand he has sharp pointy teeth and claws and can certainly hurt you. What can you do to save yourself from a pointy fate without too much damage - especially since the HyTech staff will open the doors on you in about 3 minutes? [Your account must include the time from when the cub first confronts you to after the staff [you may choose who and how many happen upon you, including Shop Hytes, or owned Hytes provided you have obtained permission, but remember that only Jun, Maxx, and Demi have the ability to open the lab doors] react to the outcome of your self-preservation attempts.]

At Maxx's insistent prodding, Demi has baked a batch of gingerbread people. These are delicious, aromatic, beautifully-iced gingerbread people. However, instead of the usual oblivious gingerbread smile, these gingerbread people stare at you with their dark, curranty eyes, knowing full well that you are the harbinger of their doom, signalling as much with their grim gingerbread frowns.
