    _ 10TH ANNIVERSARY ________________

          Happy holidays everyone!!

          Welcome to the 10th annual 100 Days of Art Event!
          We will be drawing on themes for one hundred days.
          (From January 31st until May 10th, 2021.)

          There is Nord, Easy, and Ghost mode.
          Please review them in the rules to see which one suits you best~


          Let's push our limits, defeat our art block,
          and create a supportive environment to improve our art!



    _ WHAT _____________________________

          Challenge yourself and draw for 100 days!
          This event can be taken as lightly or as seriously as you desire.
          You set your own comfort level with your art skills.

          If you want a real challenge, draw for longer hours
          and get out of your comfort zone.
          If you just want to spend time with friends
          while creating art, then take it easy.
          There are themes for you to choose from,
          or you can go into Ghost mode to draw whatever.

          This event can be relaxing and chilled,
          or you can have someone breathing down your neck
          with a looming deadline.

          Start date: Sunday, January 31, 2021
          End date: Monday, May 10, 2021



    _ WHERE ____________________________

          A thread has been created, but it won't be open until Jan 20th.

    _ MODES ____________________________

          For those who have never participated before, please read the Event Artists rules.

          _ NORD ____________________________

              Tight deadline
              * You will have no grace period
              * You cannot post "next day" art

              30-40 minutes expected effort
              * Do your best!
              * Struggles are to be expected!!
              * Does not always have to be one piece.
              tab tab You can do sketches/studies for at least 30 minutes.
              tab tab The point of this mode is to push you and your art!

              WIP accepted
              * Every 10 days, we have a "Finish a previous piece"
              * Make sure the theme is clearly represented in the piece
              * 30-40 mins effort is still required

              Artistic haiku, only text not allowed
              (example)

              Written entries
              * 800-1200 words for short stories
              * 5 stanza for any poetry
              * A stanza is composed of four or more lines

              No photography art allowed
              * it's hard to tell how much effort was placed into a photo
              * photos of sculptures, textile work, body painting, baked goods, etc are allowed
              * (things you've made that required photography to show)
              * once again, please spend around 30-40 mins on the art you will be submitting!


          _ EASY ____________________________

              No deadline
              * You are not restricted by the set deadline
              * You cannot post "next day" art
              * For completion, everything must be done by the last day of the event

              5-10 minutes expected effort
              * Doodles are ok


          _ GHOST ___________________________

              No theme, no deadline
              * Stick to your own theme/schedule, you're a ghost in the event.
              * You just want to do your own thing and have fun with us!
              * For completion, everything must be done by the last day of the event
              * You cannot post "next day" art

              One deal-breaker rule
              * When posting in the main thread, must post emotion_ghost next to day #

              tab tab This will lessen the confusion when you go off script!

    _ VOLUNTEERS NEEDED ______________

          With my engagement back in October, I will be busy with the next chapters of my life.
          I will be needing some help to make sure this event continues to run smoothly.

          _ THEME CHANGER _________________

              You will be tasked with the following changes:
              tab - the Day #
              tab - the due date number
              tab - the six to seven themes
              tab tab (that will be retrieved from Tumblr)


          _ SPOTLIGHT _______________________

              You will be tasked with reviewing 'today's theme' and picking up to eight art.
              (not to be confused with art that was completed on the day of)

              You will also be tasked with marking those users in the public spreadsheet.
              This will ensure a somewhat fair amount of distribution in the spotlight.


          _ THREAD CHECKER ________________

              You will be tasked with marking those users in the public spreadsheet.
              This is not to judge the quality of the art, but ensuring that it is on theme and on time.

              Here a few things we should consider when viewing the art:
              tab - with the exempt of ghost mode, is the art on theme?
              tab - is it the correct theme?
              tab - does it look like the user drew it? (or does it look stolen?)

              You will also be tasked with reporting your findings to me so that I may look into it.
              Anything from red flags to just something simply looking off.

          _ APPLICATION _____________________

              PM me with the following application filled out:

              Example on how I would answer these questions:
              Position: (if you can do it all, enter ANY in this space) ANY

              If you stated that you can only work one day of the week (ie: Monday), can you do it every week? Yes
              Planned events that you know that will cause you to be busy on x days? I will be busy from Jan 9th to Jan 17th.
              Others: At my work, we bid for a new schedule in February that will go into effect in March, I shall let you know if my available days will be changing in the future.


              Honestly, any information on your schedule (personal/work) will help me allocate the tasks among the volunteers on a weekly/biweekly/monthly basis.

Answer: No, you do not have to post daily in Ghost mode. The deal-breaking rule is referring to when you post in the thread, rather or not it is on theme of the day, you must post a emotion_ghost emote next to the Day #.

        oh it's been a year (maybe two?) since i've participated, but i'd like to get back into drawing more! i remember this event being such a emotional rollercoaster (in terms of how i felt about my art), but i also do feel like i went through some personal growth LOL

        also this "nord" mode seems interesting dhjsalfds—someday! someday i'll do it, but with the MCAT in march and me studying 4-6 hours each day until i take it, i'm not sure if i'll have the energy to do it sobs

        so for now...!

        anyway, thank you guys for always hosting such a wonderful event. now that i'm kinda back on gaia, it's the perfect time to participate :love:
