Hello! I thought it would be helpful to have a place for people to submit their queries in advance for the next Ask the Staff event. Feel free to post your questions here, questions answered will go in OP of the next event. For those of you who's questions did not get answered, you may post your question here.

Please be sure to follow the Rules and Guidelines posted below. These apply not only to this thread by all Ask the Staff events!

  1. One question per post.
    Please only ask one question in your post. Asking more than one question in your post may result in your post getting skipped for not following this.

  2. Repeat posts will be deleted.
    Please only post your question once. Repeated posting of the same question multiple times on the same day may result in the additional posts being deleted or in your loss of being able to post to the thread. This is to help keep the noise in the thread down and allow questions by others to be seen.

  3. Do not post support issues.
    Do not post issues regarding account bans, billing issues, warnings, and other support issues. Instead, please file a ticket about them at our Help Center. Questions about support issues may result in your post getting skipped.

  4. Not all questions will be answered.
    There are a few reasons why a question might not be answered. Here are some of the most common reasons why that happens:

    There are questions that are asked that have been asked and answered previously and the answer given there hasn't changed, therefore we don't answer that.

    There are questions that we simply do not have an answer to at the moment.

    There are questions asked in a format other than the one that we recommend you post in.

  5. The thread may get locked periodically.
    Should the thread posts grow faster than we can handle, we may temporarily lock the thread while we catch up. We will post if the lock is because of us catching up, or due to the event being over.

  6. Item suggestions and requests.
    Questions specifically asking for item requests will not be answered in ATS. They may not be responded to individually in the interest of getting to other questions. You may also post your item request and suggestions in the Item Request Thread in Site Feedback!

Marketplace Try it on Feature

Hi!

The arm pose your avi is using is ignored when trying things on in the marketplace. It defaults to both arms down which is a problem when the different arm positions mean different things.

For instance, both arms down on this avi shows a purple bear in the MP dressing room instead of the seafoam colored bear I'm actually holding. Very frustrating/annoying trying on different extras for this avi when the bear is purple.

Can this be fixed to use the arms position you've already chosen and not default to arms down?

when opposite gender avatar in avatar builder gonna use default gaia gold hairs?
Yes i now those hairs from gaia cash are nice and better, but ive wanna test default hairs without wasting gender bender potion.

Could we get a DnD/RP game specific forum? The function of DnD is significantly different than regular RP so it'd be nice for it to have its own section.

Great thread idea. I only caught one Ask the Staff before because I happened to be on then. I think a lot of people will appreciate this.

So anyway, something that bothers me is I can't actually sell/trash/get rid of 'frozen' items. This is mostly in response to Gaia Aquarium items. With Flash losing support by the end of this year, I'm wondering if changes will be made to that. And if the Gaia games that use Flash will be made to work using something else.

Have you tried taking these items out of your aquarium first? They should only be frozen if they're still in there.

      Will we be getting a new kin this year to celebrate the Year of the Rat?

      Not necessarily as a freebie (although, hey, I wouldn't argue), but as an item sold directly in La Victoire. It's just that we've had new kin for previous Zodiacs (Shi Hou, Gege the Rooster, Creme Creme, and Porksperity) and it'd be fun to see that continue. emotion_bigheart

      I do understand that kin are a ton of work to make/code so I 100% understand if not. We did just get the adorable Decembun, after all. But... I thought I'd ask anyway.

Why isn't Community News being added to the Official Gaia News Weekly? Is this subject to potentially changing in the future? I think the Community is incredibly important to what makes Gaia... Gaia. I think it's great that the staff is trying to involve members more with Site Ambassadors and training new Mods and FAs but I'd like to see a spot light on all the community run events, charities, RPs, Guilds, etc. Beyond advertising in Signatures, what's would be the suggested way to inform the community on user-run projects?

Thank you for your time and effort, I hope this doesn't sound accusatory but I just can't see why Community Spot Light WOULDN'T be included in the newsletter.

Gaia Ambassador program

Is it possible that you guys can consider adding community ambassadors to the program? They'd be users who read Site Feedback, reports concerns/feedback to staff, etc.

I made a thread about it in Site Feedback, and would love to be able to make it happen or see it happen. It'd allow Gaia staff to work with users and would be an awesome program to add alongside the art one.
