I just logged in after my hiatus of 4 years (2015) which was a log in after a previous hiatus of 4 years (2011)... None of my friends were online back then (2015) and they still aren't now. A lot of Gaians just grew up, honestly. I met one of my Gaia friends from 2009 on FB recently which is awesome. So weird seeing them all grown up! I usually just log into Gaia to play jigsaw (which doesn't seem to be working for me anymore) and snoop around forums. Its kinda sad; Being on here for 10 years and reminiscing about the "good olden days". Everyone had 0 life responsibilities other than to go to school, come home and get on the computer to chat with friends. We easily spent 7+ hours on the computer- and oh boy, when summertime came around; what a blast. Where in the world did the time go? Le sigh. confused

All the places you listed are flash features, some of which might not have fully recovered the great server migration that happened the end of October and others (especially zomg) are just not as popular as they use to be with all of flashes issues as a dying.... thing (is language the correct term? Idr). So yes, on theses particular places, Gaia probably looks more dead than it is. It's not as alive and kicking as 10 years back but it's not a ghost town. It's just these features are less popular, mostly due to their difficult nature to upkeep and they keep bugging out. If Gaia gets back on it's feet financially, it plays to make a towns 3 in html5 which will allow it to run in your phone!

I would love a towns 3. Mobile really is the way to go for them and I really am so excited to see how they’re app is when it comes out.

There's not a lot to do on the site, so mist people are in dress up and not forums. Otherwise, they've stopped logging in because there's nothing that interests then here now.

I'm pretty sure that less than a year ago 6k was how low it dropped at it's lowest point in a given day though. Peak back then was like 13-15k, and even that was a fraction of the activity Gaia used to see.

I think Gaia is so very different from other social media platforms... add that so many people only access online with phones... and I guess there's a natural drop in attendance.

I was here every day for a long time, many hours daily, doing a lot of stuff, but now... there are days I don't even want to log in to collect the daily rewards.. I even forget it sometimes... there are almost nothing new for paws anymore and i'm tired of being always sad/pissed/disappointed and tired of trying to protest for paws every time...

I think the biggest reason is that we're adults now, we have jobs and spouses and kids to take care of, right? The biggest age group when this place was busy (2006/7) was mid-teens. It's 11 years later, seems like the rational answer.

I go through phases of being really into Gaia, then my attention wanes, then I come back and something inspires me again.

I'm currently just burned out - Don't even want to fish this month, really.

I left for college and now I have a lot of free time to pursue hobby interests.

Really? Why does that mod ban accounts for no reason, and why don't Gaia staff ban that mod, then unban all the innocent users? That mod is clearly misusing his/her job/status yum_strawberry

Another thing is: Gaia has been around for a really long time. Platforms becoming less frequently used or dying off is normal. Remember MySpace? Even Facebook sees dips in users -- why do you think they try to notify you when "random person you don't talk to has commented on another random person's post" or "random person has posted for the first time in awhile." They're trying to get you to check back in.

I doubt that will happen. Because its not on Gaia's "to do list" that does not involve money and although it has been brought up time and time again over the years, the old response you'll get it is "Follow the rules/Don't break the (outdated) TOS'' that comes from those who had their accounts banned and those who haven't. Then again, if Gaia's mods feel a user should be banned for any reason, they can depart you of your items/gold whether you diligently follow the TOS or not and you would have to start all over, send in a ticket, wait a couple of years, and/or move on afterward.
