zOMG Forum to be moved to GGD?!?!?!

Hey everyone. This is a first serious thread here so please be kind to me. sweatdrop

Moments ago, I saw this announcement within the zOMG forum. Why is it that Gaia wants to move the entire forum under the GGD? There are users here that joined because of zOMG. And really it is not a wise decision to try and move the entire zOMG community to a place to die. All I am saying is that I want answers. Sure you are postponing the movement but zOMG is the most played Gaia game here. Yeah, you won't move Monster Galaxy because it is "Facebook" but zOMG is not a "classic" game. You may feel it is and you want to bury it in the shadows, and let it die HQ. But you know what, I won't allow that.

Also you have already made duplicates of the zOMG forum for GGD. That is not right. And you know what, if you are just "cleaning out the clutter" how about you just say it! But no, you guys won't say anything to us, the users. neutral

With the start of Moga and all the new gaming relationships you have made HQ, I feel like you are losing touch with all of the community. If you are moving z!F to make room for something that is not Gaia, then why should we even try to stay here as members. I really tried supporting you guys with your decisions of becoming smaller and you said you would focus on the community. Well, if you take away zOMG, right when they are still getting DMS ready for the public, there is no way I can trust your decisions.

HQ, you should reconsider this decision. Sure you don't want pitchforks but you know that zOMGaians are tired of the way you treat the game. We got the 5k we needed for the zOMG proposal and now this. Don't blame me if I started this. No wait, you can blame me because I don't mind. I will take it standing.

YET ANOTHER UPDATE: The announcement thread is now gone. If you click on the link, you are given a permission error. So, hopefully this has been fully solved and HQ has realized how the users feel about this.

Zomg was once supposed to be THE project of Gaia. It was supposed to show us the Gaia world and the be all, end all of all Gaia games.

So how DARE they attempt to shove zomg to the back of the gaming forums when zomg was what brought many users to the site in the first place! scream

Fishing was one of the very first games we ever got, I remember that. zOMG! is not any where near as old as fishing, it's not even as old as the puzzles or pinball, zOMG! is only a few years old and is not indicative of "Classic" Gaia. As such the reasoning we're given for moving the entire forum is flawed, it only leads us to assume that this is the Gaia staff being more active and blatant about their attempts to kill off the game entirely. I'm so upset by this hidden announcement, it's not even a dev notice! They were literally trying to sneak it in under our noses and hope we wouldn't notice! Gaia, why must you hate zOMG! so much? It could be a great way for you to make money if you actually bothered trying!

Seriously Gaia, if you do actually succeed in killing off zOMG! you're only going to lose a lot of users, you're not doing yourselves any favors by being so antagonistic to one of your most popular features.

Firstly, I would like to invite you to look into the GGD.
What do you see? A ghost town of a forum with naught any activity but a few legitimate threads and someone posting links to illegal game downloads.
(Edit: Congrats on clearing out those threads, Gaia. But it had to be pointed out to you?)

So much activity that there are threads last posted in almost a month ago on the front page.


Gaia, why do you want to hide the zOMG community in the dead forum called the GGD?
Yes, we know that the move is now 'postponed' due to the upcoming release of DMS. However, you have said the it will 'eventually happen'.
Why exactly?

Are you actually serious about promoting this game?
The zOMG proposal made it to 5000 votes. We bought 5000 Blood Amulets. There is clearly an interest here.
Turnout for the weekly developer meat-ups it great. We have had tons of user-run events. Even though clan chat, the invite command, and sometimes whispering does not work the community has used threads, meebo, and other means to get together and play.
We are a slow-ish forum, but certainly not a dead forum.
Players will not find our community if it is hidden away.

As a side note, I notice that you at Gaia HQ have no issues with cluttering the Gaia Gaming section of the forums with Moga Galaxy, OMGPOP, and Viximo. What do any of these things have to do with Gaia Online? Besides being made by the same company or being from partnerships.

It's complete bullshit, moving z!F to GGD. Gaia needs to stop giving us mixed messages.

Gaia, what what WHAT on earth are you doing? zOMG! is YOUR MMO. It belongs in the front, where everyone can see it. Stop trying to hide it like some shameful, dirty secret. You wouldn't even post the moving announcement so everyone could see it. You just slapped it in the forum and left it alone. Only the folks in the forum would ever see that there, and when the forum eventually is moved, nobody else is going to know why.

Either cut the s**t and leave us alone or just come right out and say it: You're just about done milking zOMG! for all the money you can, and now you're throwing it away like yesterday's trash, burying it away so it can die in a forum hardly anybody goes to; suffocating its' only real connection to the pulse of the Gaian community.

These actions are cowardly and, quite frankly, hurtful. I don't invest money into this game so it can just be shuffled off once you're tired of sucking it dry. It's a crying shame that cookie-cutter junk like Viximo's and OMGPop's games get better treatment compared to a game made by Gaia and loved by its' small but extremely vocal playerbase.

Resort world has had numerous updates in the short time it has been here.
Mabinogi updates weekly
Eden Eternal has a huge update every month

Every time that Gaia has asked zOMGains to prove their dedication to this game we have, whether it be through cash shop purchases, hours played, or cookies thrown at proposals, and every single time we've done it with the hopes that Gaia would finally start to give a s**t.

As of yet, no notable shits have been given. Yes, DMS is on the brink of being released, but it's something that's been in the works for God knows how long and is only now being pushed out, and even that required more of our cash spent and will only give limited access to anyone unlucky enough to have not gotten their amulet in time. All we've been rewarded with are devs being let go and now the forum being moved into an estranged corner to quietly die while you continue to promote your Pokemon wannabe and your third-party licenses.

Why does Gaia keep putting itself in this position? zOMG could be a great asset to this site, and you seem to be too blind or too ignorant to realize this.

Ahaha~ now I feel embarressed because of my overuse of capslock. redface Sorry about that, but whenever it appears that zomg is being shoved in the corner, I get a little rage face-y.

Anyway, since zomg IS a MMO, I feel that it does deserve to stay on the main page. The other games are mini-games, but zomg is a MMO that Gaia worked for years to develop, and has a large, active userbase. It's not like a mini-game where you most likely play by yourself. It is a mmo that requires socalization, including posting in the forums.

ESPECIALLY since DMS needs people to post in the forums to lift the curse and all that, I feel that moving it is counterproductive and wrong. An MMO should not be compared to mini-games.

The problem here is that zOMG is Gaia. And can you by chance get Pan or others to post here to tell us things were going when "zOMG will be integrated more into the main site." zOMG should be allowed to be the attention whore. Most of the money users gain is from Booty Grab or zOMG. No offense, but if the next games coming down the line is NOT made by Gaia, that is a lot of wasted time.
