Well every time I have had an issue with gaia they resolved it in a very good way. Most of what I see people complaining about is that items have gotten more expensive and they are upset because they feel entilted to get the item. So what is so wrong with re-releasing an item twice in a mouth

Nothing I've seen in this thread so far has anyone complaining because they feel entitled to a free/cheap item.

People are upset because this particular item, Flynn's Booty/Chest - is literally doing nothing but barfing as much gold as possible into the Gaian Economy.
It's causing a massive Hyper Inflation, and prices are skyrocketing in the Market and on the Exchange of the most wanted items.
Questing for high-end items is becoming near impossible for new players without them having to empty their wallets to keep up with the inflation that Gaia keeps causing.
Gold is becoming more worthless and buying power goes down, with every chest that someone opens- and as this happens, users are going to pretty much be forced to buy Gaia cash to keep up with the absolutely insane inflation because the earning power of anything on this site that's still free, is practically worthless.

People are mad because it makes it seem like Gaia doesn't care if they totally destroy the economy at the expense of the users, because all they care about is making a quick buck.

So... protest buying gaia cash.. will.. fix the fact they need to keep pushing gaia cash to pay for things...? I don't understand the logic...

I don't mind the offers and items being pushed at me. Why? Because I don't have to buy. confused I look and go 'oh how nice i wish I could buy that maybe another time'.

I don't think the outrage is so much at the fact that they need Gaia cash to pay for things, but rather the way they have been doing it.

They can sell items for Gaia cash without having to completely destroy our economy by flooding it with hundreds of millions of gold.

This is why we are fed up.

It makes it pretty damn obvious that they are purposely inciting inflation, so that after they release a rare item and it drops, the Flynn's booty/chest items cause hyperinflation again- so they can continue to sell the same "rare items" for $50-100 a pop, and then turn around and claim its to protect rarity.

It's so frickin disgusting, and frankly I'm shocked that anyone wants to continue spending money here.

The only thing flooding the economy with gold is the Flynn's booty. And I made this point in another thread, of who's going to by six of those for $50? Not as many people as the hype is thinking, I think. There's some temp-artificial inflation, yeah... but it'll go down. And there's a shop in the works for goldsinks.. another one... so... I think people are jumping to a conclusion too quickly..

... purposely inciting inflation? i doubt that... and there's no proof.
Ehhh... there's really no proof for any of that.. it's a theory. :/

What did they think would happen to the gold value if they released an item, that at it's base payout, gives one million gold?

What did they think would happen when they released an item that, before, caused a massive inflation spike? Did they think that the econo-fairy would sprinkle miracle dust and make the currency just go away?

No, they knew this would happen. They had the data. They had the research. They are not blabbering idiots. So the simple answer is - yes. They knew they would screw people who use gold by doing this.

And they did it anyway.

Why?

For money.

Lol, you would be surprised at what people on this site will buy.

Who's going to buy six of those for $50?

Well, how about the people who bought a Halo for $1000.
Or the People who bought a Tiny-a** pixel doll of their avatar for $500.
How about the people who bought Cash shop backwings for $500, or the people who even bought the verge wings when they were still $250.

People will buy it, and they and they ARE already buying it.

Flynn's chest is even worse than Booty, because it's a guaranteed 1mil payout with each chest, so the lowest possible amount you could pull is 6mil, but I've already seen people reporting pulling 45mil and more from a single bundle.

This is full-on retarded.
It's not temporary artificial inflation going on. It's REAL inflation, due to a mass surge of currency, devaluing the dollar and so prices rise to compensate.

-and there may not be any proof, but I refuse to believe that Gaia doesn't know what it's doing here, and that this wasn't purposeful or planned.
They are going to have to have one ******** hell of a gold sink to combat this, otherwise it's going to be pretty much useless.
There's only so many gold-shop recolors people are going to give a s**t about before that gets old.

-and without giving the gold-sinks any time to actually do their effing job before they just pump out more Flynn's booty, they economy is just going to get worse and worse until it just flipping implodes. I've seen it happen before on an MMO I played and loved- and in the end it was also one of the biggest reasons of their downfall.

Is GC a bit excessive? Yeah, you know. It really is. They could slow down a bit. they're releasing too many items and too fast and too close. I am not disagreeing with that at all.

But do you think STOPPING buying GC from them is going to HELP ANYTHING? No. They'll push more offers and make more items to make up for the minority that's being stubborn and has stopped buying. They know if they make good enough items with good enough deals, they'll be just fine because the users who DON'T - some of who will take the "pledge" then buy anyways without telling - purchase can be covered by others.

And so is a 76 station, but we don't promise people two dollar gas then sell it at five bucks a gallon forever, then defend ourselves with this argument.

They cannot ride on this idea that being a business entitles them to some sort of free pass to openly lie.

First of all, why is it your business how people spend their money???? If someone has the money to buy a $500 dollar doll and a $1000 halo, why are you judging them? Their finances are none of your business, or anyone else's, for that matter.

but that's still speculation.
well, hopefully they'll work on it quicker. The items that were released in D*C were a nice start.

Misty, it's not about whether people can buy it. People simply are, because it's made available. We're crusading that. It was a mistake to rerelease it, because it will, and HAS, disrupt the economy in a major way.

We cannot stop people from buying it except by showing that straight up releasing gold-for-cash is not desired, and in fact, is breaking several promises.
