I'm pretty sure they keep releasing GC items because they're trying to get as much money as they can from people before they shut this site down. Any money hungry person would do this. I mean, I'm with you guys, but nobody should pay real money for that stuff anyway.

I've been lurking this thread for a while, and I signed on the petition thread because I think all of this is ridiculous.
If you want my opinion though, I feel like this Christmas event is their last hurrah before this site burns down. I hope it's not, but I'm embracing the possibility. Just look at all the cash features available right now. The CI that grants other CIs, the RERELEASE of a CI, and TWO OTHER CIs going against each other apparently??? The Switch Em game. The "Give a Gift" option. Freaking re-colormas? Now THAT'S an insult to injury. Not to mention all the "sales" going on right now. I feel like Gaia is done, and it's struggling to survive. Put it down before it suffers any more.

I joined this site in 2008 when I just entered my teens. I loved it so much, and I remember working so hard for items, such as the 8,000 gold ORLY? hat. I bought from the merchandise shop, of which I have an ORLY? hat and an Omnomnom hat, and I still wear them from time to time. I have bought a couple of cash cards before, and I bought some great items, a few of which I still own (I still regret selling my Gogh reed and Fallen wish, those things are impossible to quest for now) and all was good. It was fine giving Gaia money, because I could trust them. Users could trust them.

Now it's different, and all of that is gone. I feel disgusting just being on this website now. My heart weeps for this site and the potential and wonderful qualities it used to have, but at the same time, I hope the CEO is punished for all of this, and all the corrupted staff that happily went along with this cash-sucking plan.

There are no redeeming qualities here anymore. You have items? Yay. You can't get anymore if you don't have cash coming out the butt. You play games? Cool. You're not getting any gold of worth. zOMG? Probably the only good thing about this site now, but I'm sure that'll be ruined somehow. Forums? Let's be honest, MUCH of the community is either A.) rich assholes or B.) rich teenage assholes. Recently, no matter how nice and social I have tried to be, there are extremely rude, people. Yeah, I know what you're going to say: get over it. That only proves my point. This community has become as sour as the CEO, save for a handful of people. The nicer ones are probably the older ones who were part of the nicer site. Now this site is full of people who want bragging rights because they spent 1k in real money on pixels.

What this thread is reaching for is wonderful. I hope you will be heard, and I really, really hope that Gaia will save itself before it dies out. This place used to be home to me. I shouldn't feel disgusted when I go to this home.

I will say, however, other websites have won my heart. My faithfulness to Gaia fades as my love for another avatar forum grows. I wish this never happened, and that I could stay true to Gaia. But one can only go through so much before they break.

Also, their announcement today that said "A gift for everyone at La Victoire", I almost thought for a second they were going to give everyone a free gift. Apparently it's only for everyone that has money.
