gaia has decided there is no level of low to sink too they will not go. If they were trying to end this site, they are well on there way to it. I noticed a very large decline on people coming to the site. An if all this money is for there new adult site, they are not doing a very good job at bring old members over to the new site. People that have been here for years and have seen all the BS they pulled will think it will just carry over to the new site and won't be worth it.

No matter who is to blame there only one bottom line, there no way I would ever buy 100's of dollars worth of pixils on a site that dying anyway! WHAT A WASTE!

I know she said a while back she was leaving Gaia. But she still logged on a couple times after she said that. I don't know if she's actually gone but it's been about a month without her. emotion_8c

Wouldn't that mean the petition is null?
Or does she have someone else running it now? sweatdrop

No idea, I know she had a few users take over and whatnot. I don't remember who they are. If you look back far enough I'm sure you'll find it. sweatdrop

As far as I read online, they are making a sister site to gaia for 18 an older. Pretty much so they don't have to keep saying 'no cyber sex! We do not promote porn! like they like to claim on this site, but of course that is a loud of BS. Just look at half the 'idioms' That do just that! The new site you'd be able to cyber away, buy strap on pixels, and get freaky with your naked ave....Of course it will be for a PRICE!

gonk Seriously, how is that fair for users who have been on a long time and simply don't like selling their items.

For a long time I strived to own of each EI (not each generation of all of them, but one of each EI and REI regardless of what gen) and as such I had/have a rather large amount of premium items because I worked hard to get them and didn't want to get rid of them. There are many chance items I own that I earned by waiting months to get and I really enjoy having them even if I can't use them all the time.

Given I don't need them all at the same time (nor is it even possible to use them all at the same time), but re-purchasing items I've already bought seems incredibly illogical (especially considering the nature of inflation and economics as a whole) so I keep them until I feel I will no longer have a potential of using them. Why should I be punished for being patient and enjoying the fruits of my labor? Not everyone perma-hoards items but for the few that do it doesn't seem to impact the system too too much. It is more a quantity issue to begin with not a "people aren't selling them because they're selfish" issue. Had it been a hoarding issue, there would most likely be less than 100 of each of the 2003 MC's that could be actively sold before the re-releases because the rest would be sitting in abandoned/collectors accounts, which just isn't the case. Most are just sold in the Vend and not the MP.

This type of thinking/punishment system would discourage people from buying items in the first place since they would be punished for owning too many premium items if they bought a large quantity at one time even if they intended to sell them. It would be more prudent to simply lower the prices upon the initial release (similar to how Monthly Collectibles work) and have scattered limited releases as specific items become scarce.

None of this Halo bull-s**t where they re-release it over and over again to line their pockets. More like "Here's 50 of them, we're going to raffle off 40 in the market at random throughout the year and hold 10 contests with this as the 1st place prize" every year or two. Still extremely small quantity for the amount of overall active users but allows more quantity to be sold so as to combat overall inflation that would occur naturally.

I would like to join. I think many of the ideas to improve the site on both sides (people who spend money vs. others who don't). We need more gold sinks. By making all the more valuable/more desired items to be purchased with gaia cash prevents a gold sink. It only makes a money sink in people's real life pockets.

I really wish gaia would re-vamp or return to making more exciting things for the rally and homes. I know they made a big leap with towns 2.0 which made me want to re-decorate my house, but I was hoping to see new items flood in the housing store. If there were new theme items to put in my home, I could see people wanting to decorate in themes such as holidays (other than Christmas), seasons (fall, summer, etc), have a hot tub, grow a mini forest with trees and plants, have a fire pit.... anything you can imagine. I know people on here love to role-play and would love to create new designs for their homes. People even have gaian weddings, so why can't we buy new floral wallpapers or stained glass windows?

As for the rally, I want to have a sports car. More colors and headlights. I want to have more races that actually let you win stuff. I haven't raced my car in years because if you win, you don't get anything. Why can't there be a prize? Make it so that you pay to race, and if you win you get a cheesy prize that might have to do with cars (new detail on the outside, convertible top, etc.).

I also wish gaia would add more colors to the hair salon. The original hairstyles have one shade of a color, but the new ones have different shades of that same color. I would love for more colors to be available for the hair styles. That also goes for the eyes.

I refuse to buy gaia cash. I bought some in the past years ago before this site became gaia cash, money making oriented. I know gaia needs money to run, to pay their workers, to function.. but what happened to the exciting, non-profit part of this social media site? I miss the exciting stories, the lovable characters, even the advertisements that introduced the adventures (skittles, kung fu panda, etc.) that gave us new worlds to visit and fun games to win prizes.

I want the gaia to bring back the old and turn it into something new and exciting, or else gaia will lose their users from this site and they will end up begging for any money they can till the site has to shutdown.
so many cash pushes x.x

Gaia is simply forcing everyone to use the marketplace. They don't care that it is unfair and unexceptionable to force you to sell your hard earned things. They only care about making you do what they want. Forcing you to get ride of your stuff makes it look like people are still taking part in this worthless site. AND THEY KNOW with inflation if you want to buy it back you will have to use GC to make up the gold you need to get it back. SEE it all about making you PAY them to be here.

I am all for a slightly more adult area of the site but why not just do like IMVU and have it where you pay like $20 one time to access hidden 18+ sections and such on this site. Oh wait I forgot IMVU actually likes their users still.
