As a member of the site since 2003, having owned multiple accounts, I used to spend a couple dollars here or there for Gaia. The only times I've dropped a hundred or so was around Christmas to buy gifts for friends.

I bust my a** for my money and I don't feel appreciate as a user, anymore. I used to be happy on this website, but over time I grew to realize what exactly inhabits this website and why they do. The nail in the coffin has been these endless sales.

My play money will go elsewhere and so will I.

I've been here since 2003 although this is my 2004 account (I was young and stupid, lost my 2003 account ages ago) and Gaia has taken a turn for the worst. Back when I started I quit Neopets because it became too much about the cash and nothing to do with the community.

Now I'm considering leaving Gaia too and moving to Subeta because I cannot stand idly by and watch this website crash and burn. I'll try and go down with the ship, but right now the lifeboats are looking very tempting.

Gaia used to be about the community, now it's about the cash.

"Getting annoyed with the lack of items for Alchemy? Just BUY your way to the top. Want lots and lots of gold? here, now you can BUY your way into the millions. Didn't manage to get that monthly collectible that we said we would NEVER rerelease? Well we lied, just BUY one! It's only $50! It's ok you don't need to eat or pay your rent!"

They still have permissions and access to other parts of the site that we do not. (ie moving threads, locking threads)
So to say they aren't staff, I think is wrong.

We are part of the Staff, but we aren't employees and thus are not paid by Gaia. FA and Mods are a volunteer part of Gaia Staff and Admin+ are the employee and paid part of Gaia Staff.

Only thing I wanted to comment on, carry on.

I was more or less trying to say that I would feel you are part of the staff.
It is a type of task or "job" that in a way needs to be done. Regardless, what you get out of it, you are still part of the team. So in my opinion that would make you staff. I was looking at it more of a bigger picture sort of thing. Just because one doesn't get paid money, doesn't mean that individual isn't paid in experience or some other type of qualification.
If that clarifies what I meant. =/

I didn't get the email, I'm not 18. So I don't know what the email actually said, since it's exclusive.
But I did participate in the survey for the new sister site.

Nope. Maybe a month or two ago? But it had NPCs like Liam and Moria or whatever her name is. And they were all in their towels & it was hot and steamy.

I think it said 18+. I'd have to go surf through CB to find the screenshot.

They made an announcement that mentioned the sister site when they apologized.
I closed out of the survey before it got to the bad part, but apparently it made fun of fat people.

They even sent out an email, I'd show you the picture that was included but that's lost within the CB sea.

That doesn't mean all the money from this site goes into that one, as I believe it's been stated before, they are separate from each other? So he was requesting proof of your statement that all the money is going into that site. Not proof that the site exists smile

I do know this much, SF is not ignored and you are all being listened to. So no one has any worries about being ignored.

lol if that was true, this site should not be as shity as it is, we have been saying how up set we are for WEEKS. iv made more post in ask the admin about this stuff more then i can count and i always get so lame bot reply, "oh were working on it" or "we are working on the #s, in the time the market will fix its self." im so over having gaia cash being pushed, every day theres some sell, or some deal. its all just cash in there pockets!

How else are you going to fund the new site especially when Gaia "can't afford" to keep this one afloat?

It's just common sense.

Sure a portion of the money goes to paying the greedy CEO and employees (they aren't greedy, just the CEO), but as I recall they laid off a lot of the employees, so how many people are they funding for?

The sister site will take a lot of money, especially since making a freaking Iphone app is like 50k-100k-250k
