Honestly, though, when you run the numbers, making those adjustments to SmashBlocks is going to end up helping the economy more than never releasing a Flynn item again at this point.
Flynn things suck, but the staff told us flat out it'd be back. We need to start finding ways to fix things and incorporate Flynn into Gaia. Sitting around and getting all pissed about it hasn't worked and it will continue to not work, unfortunately. We can't convince everyone to stop buying it, so expect to see it next week and the week after that too, I'm sure.

As for suggestions, I got three:

How can that item be that inexpensive?! - A Good Thread from GCD;

Going back to "Gaia Exchange" forums for get the items you want without all the jazz from the MP;

Also, as a member suggested here, why not invest in items from Gold Shops from now on ?

I remember a couple weeks back on "Ask the Admin" when I noticed a couple of questions that had been repetitively asked, but never answered. And if I'm correct, they've completely "done away" with ask the admin? Wasn't the point of that thing to get suggestions, tips, or feed back from us? And now that it's gone, where are we supposed to send most of our feed back? We can't just pm the mods- they get floods of pms every day. We can't email them due to the same thing. And... well, it makes me feel like they just don't care about our opinions anymore if it doesn't have to do with making more money.

At first I thought the gold sink was a good thing. Especially since we were all putting out backs into sending trillions of gold into the donation pool. But RIGHT AFTER the gold sink, and during the Halloween event, they had to release Flynn's Booty again! WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THE GOLD SINK? Why? What was the point if you were going to release it again, and again, and again, only making the economy worse?! Isn't a gold sink supposed to take gold so that the economy can heal?

I also remember when older events didn't have you paying just to get benefits from them- heck, during the Grave Danger Halloween event I didn't see a price tag on some potions. No, instead you fought until you K.O.d the NPC, or died and had to start again with that NPC. The idea of having health potions right now is great! But what isn't great is having to buy BETTER ones with real money! Heck, in the cash shop I've seen stat boosters that are permanent and would probably overpower users! Don't they know that takes the fun out of the event? Why did they even bother to do one this year if it was just going to be about money- why bother making a gold sink if it was going to be USELESS?

Considering the fact that they haven't taken this thread into consideration ((or noticed it)) as well as several others, and the PEOPLE who are speaking out against this, I doubt they'd care if a few of us left the site. Because obviously there are going to be people who WILL stay and WILL pay the ridiculous prices for GC and GC related items, even if it costs more than their wallets. I don't think the staff would care if they lost thousands of us at this point, just so long as they still had people pushing money into their pockets.

The only reason as to why I stay here anymore is for the people I've met and the friendships I've made. Sure, some of them have left... sadly. A lot of them gave up on dream avatars or getting their accounts back from hackers- regaining what they'd lost. Because now it's just ridiculously expensive just to get what you one had back. I saw a Valentines day Gloryheart sword, that used to cost 20k a while back. And now with the inflation, it is priced at nearly over 300k in the market place. What is the point of advertising the freedom to create your own avatar the way YOU WANT IT, saying that you have the freedom to do so, if half of the gaians here who don't spend GC or can't can never afford those items? I wouldn't be surprised if things in the NPC shops became un-affordable to a new gaian.


...yes my rant does touch on points not everyone is going to agree with,and it is rather long to read. But what happened to the people who actually took our opinions into account and DID CHANGE THINGS when it was obvious we disagreed with something?

For example: Inari's Bead, what about just being able to buy the mask only and not the kitsunes or anything else that's bundled with it? Or Herme's Moon and just being able to buy a sash. Just breaking up all of the options into small pieces that can be bought without gold instead of the set.

I think that would be a great idea as well. Most people only want like one or two of the poses anyways.

I've been here for 7 years. The past 5 years have been so much fun and I wont see much announcements offering you to buy gaia cash. But now, just look what have happened! SO MUCH INFLATION!
I think that there's no other way for the mp to deflate.
The ONLY THING we can do is to RAISE WAGES. This include getting more golds in posting, commenting and playing games in gaia. Haven't they thought about this? The MP prices are unbelievable!
The only thing that people can survive in the economy is that for their wages to be increased. Thus, the theory "one dollar today is worth than a dollar tomorrow."
That's why we apply interests to money we lend because our purchasing power decreases because of INFLATION. Thus the ONLY SOLUTION is that we MUST INCREASE OUR EARNINGS/GOLDS in every comment, posts and games we play.
But I doubt that will come true. In real world, we either increase tax or decrease tax with monetary policies to control inflation but with THIS FLYNN'S BOOTY is just ruining everything else! stressed

I've been a member of this site since 2007, and I remember it was so much fun when I first joined. Making gold was never easy for me, but my goals were always within grasp. I even completed my dream avi way back then. Now, that's all impossible for me. 100k is pocket change to some users, and having the perfect avi I want is impossible unless I spend real money. No thanks! I understand that the site needs money in order to run, but you got to draw the line somewhere. I miss the days where you could have a tektek contest for 15k and tons of people would still join. Now, even 50k is not enough incentive for some people. Sigh. I miss the old Gaia. :/
