Speaking of the Gold Shop I just got to thinking. If gaia's trying to pimp the site for money using Cash shop items, shouldn't we boycott cash shop/and/or expensive items on the site to promote people's independence? If gold is going to be rendered obsolete soon, we may as well get in the habit of trying to utilize the gold shop items instead of being reeled in like fish on a hook to purchase Gaia cash.

I had one suggestion before I went to bed. I'm pretty disappointed with the Alchemy these days. If you aren't already high level it's pretty much like you can forget about it. I haven't checked every single recipe but it seems like most of them require at least one or more premium items that you can't even find in the marketplace anymore or which you can only find a few of. As a way to improve alchemy (let people at least level up) why not make at least 1-2 cute items that can be alchemized at each level from gold shop items ONLY. It might also prove to be a great gold sink. Maybe later I can try to come up with some ideas for items that can be alchemized that way or something.

Personally, I refuse to buy anything else related to Gaia cash in any way, shape, or form. That means not even buying cash related items off the marketplace. All of my item dreams got squashed by Flynn's giant stinky a** and along with it my desire to even attempt questing. Since all of this started, I haven't even been able to get myself to look at prices in the art shops.

I agree with this idea, since those who defend Flynn's Booty and "white knight" this site claim that the inflation was caused not by the Flynnflation but because people buy items at ludicrous prices, which's a pretty good argument but not that much, because I think the majority of people who buy inflated items are the ones who uses the Flynn's Booty + Smashblox combo.

Which's a situation where everybody loses, be it cash and non-cash buyers. Specially the cash buyers, since it's like using codes/hacks to a game you're playing for the first time, which destroys any chance of having 'fun' that you and your friends could ever have.

I feel you. Now, it's either buy Gaia Cash or leave. Some people say that all this hassle it's for that infamous adult site that's "on the works".

But whatever reason they're doing all this, I ask:

Is all this worth it ?

It's worth to sell the soul of this site for the highest bidder, sacrificing its memb--, I mean, "users"/"lab rats" for a 'great cause' or the highest profit possible ?

It has been worth ruling this commun--, I mean, "business" with iron hands, closing all possible ways of a peaceful dialogue between us and the people who run this site ?(goodbye Ask The Admin)

It has been worth "hand waving" all the issues related to Gaia nowadays, and pray/hope that they go away on their own ?

It is worthy "white knighting", defending people who could care less about you, your opinions and that's not interested in whoever likes them or not ?

To be fair, they started selling Cash Shop exclusive event items about 3 years ago during the X-mas event (at least that's the first time I remember them seeing holiday event exclusives pop up in the LV, might've been earlier). So having event items that cost GC wasn't exactly new. Hell, the whole "buffing-for-cash" thing isn't that new to Gaia either.

That was the entire purpose of Back Alley Bargains' inventory (sidenote: that entire store is kinda pointless since Gaia's abandoned zOMG)!
The most expensive item in that shop is a 3-pack bundle worth 999 GC.

But the pricing of H2k13's event boosters is ridiculous, even by normal MMO standards. I mean, the Dinner Shield, which is a one-use item (as far as I can tell anyway. No way I'm wasting good money just to find out) protects you from attack until you attack someone else, is priced at 250GC. A reasonable price for a throwaway item like that would be somewhere between 29GC and 9GC (note: the cheapest zOMG powerup in BAB is 49GC, but those buffed your character for about 10-20 minutes, so they'd be money well spent, as opposed to money wasted like what the Cash shop is asking for the Dinner Shield.)

Speaking of which, could someone provide me the formula for how $$$ translates into X amount of Gaia Cash. I'm rather curious as to how Gaia's trying to justify these outrageous sell prices to management.

The situation is different, nothing sold in zOMG is game breaking. Nothing will make you invincible compared to other players. Also zOMG is not a pvp game. One person becoming stronger doesn't ruin the game experience for another.

Everything thy did right on zOMG power ups thy dis wrong on this forum event one.
