I have been thinking about the whole issue of not being able to use the fishes from the game in the aquariums when it hit me:

Ok, we can't use them. However we could trade them for new fishes that can be used exclusively in the aquariums, that way people can't say it would defeat the purpose of the cash shop fishes. The fishing game would have its own line of aquarium fishes and the cash shop will keep its fishes and decorations.

A fishing game update has been mentioned in the ''Where's the fishy love?'' topic also here in SF, so I believe this could make a nice update.

Sorry if this was already suggested, didn't read through all the pages. It could work, cash shop fishes will remain that way and fishers could get their own aquarium only fishes.

What you guys think?

This is a great idea. I love the Aquarium actually and just wish that they would give more options. Simply by making items buy able with gold would help increase the diversity of items. Diversity makes everything better and more interesting.

I read over everything on the first page, and a few suggestions from other pages. I put down this suggestion in other threads, but I'm hoping that if I post it more, someone with a little say-so in how things go on the site will take it up:

- Remove the expiration date on the fish. Now, this doesn't mean it's permanently removed. Instead of fish "dying," they should, instead, become "exhausted" from living in the tank. This will give the fish a down period of, say, 30 days before they can be re-introduced to the tank. In that time, people can either cycle certain fish through the tank, or, if you're the impatient type, purchase other fish to replace them.

It's a lot more fiscally sound that spending actual, real cash on items that expire. Now, that has nothing to do with the shop being cash-only. Let it stay cash-only. You DO get fish and decorative items and such from the Daily Chance (although it's a slim chance you'll actually get something of significant value), so your tank doesn't need to be empty.

The higher-end items should stay cash items. Maybe the lower-end items, like the Goldfish, could be both Cash and Gold items, making it a great gold sink to combat Marketplace inflation and a source of revenue from people who don't want to spend their Gold and opt out for the $0.49 to spend on the Goldfish.

A mix of Cash and Gold items is the smartest way to go. Gaia could really cut back on how much they're spending to keep the site running by cutting out site add-ons. After the initial rush to Gaia Cinemas, how many people actually use it on a frequent basis? Not many, I'd wager. Most people come to Gaia to interact, either with friends or to play games. Not to sit and watch movies. Cut off the unnecessary add-ons and (please!) fix existing site problems, and a lot of money (including the over $1 million gained monthly--it says so on the right side of the MMO page) could be saved.

In this way, Gaia can continue to be enjoyable for everyone, not just for those who can afford to spend enormous amounts of Gold and actual money on the site. If Gaia really wants to expand its userbase, it ought to steer away from increasingly becoming a paysite.

maybe you could turn your fish into phin phang and pay her to "train" your fish to live in an aquarium.

also I like the kiki and other gaia items into fish idea. I think people would be a little more pleased with this feature
