Regarding opening DMS to the public by siskataya.
I'm glad they've made a thread. It's been clarified that it was indeed intended from the start for it to be public. Though I suppose now the blood stones and amulets we used for the head start are just gonna sit in our inventories now without a purpose?
I do hope they're future plans for them or something...

It has it's good and bad depending on perspective. Many people predict it'll be stormed with new people who know nothing about dms, methods etc and ruin it for people wanting serious speedy runs. Personally I don't mind teaching newer dmsers tactics formed in the past and still being worked on in the present. Everyone was new to dms and had no idea what to do at one point. It'll be nice to have more people to dms with as long as they're reasonable which you'd expect if they want help. Plus in zOMG you do pick who you crew with so no one is like forced on you.
The good is new and more people the bad to me and I'm sure several others is the blood stone and amulets. We purchased them and now they're pretty much useless and still soul bound I should add. Is there going to be like a pay back for them of any sorts; I would hope so. At least make it so they're not soulbound. It'd be appreciated.
Edit: I agree an announcement on the matter would of been nice but a dev alert is better than nothing; you can find dev notices on your homepage too so maybe people with dev alerts off can still see them when logging in? Anyway since gaia almost completely just given up on zOMG a refund on what originally was an attempt to save zOMG (DMS). I suppose could do more hurt than anything. Since dms wasn't the biggest success it still had an effect I would hope. Though I don't know for sure if it cost them to do like a refund opinion though you could assume it would.
Everyone could guess that it'd be open to the public eventually so it's not really THAT surprising. I personally expected it. I'm not going all "Me want gold" I'm just rather interested in what will be done with the gem and amulets. I would love for gaia to do something with them that doesn't cost them too much and still benefits people who bought them. Below it was stated that they made it clear that it'd eventually be open to the public permanently and the gem/amulet was just to get in before others. I can't find any record of this, it'd be nice to have due to so many people raging about wanting gold etc. A new thread was made by the admin referencing it. The link is above.
To put it brief; I just hope more benefit comes from this than loss.
It's also been pointed out that we don't get "warnings". Which is a lot more general than just zOMG things. Gaia doesn't seem to give notices on whats going on until it's actually happening or about to take effect. Like a 2 week notice on making DMS forever public would of made the community a lot less spazzy. Over it being made public all of a sudden out of no where. I like to be kept up to date on things.
Thank you porno for bringing that additional note to mind: (Her Thread)
