Welcome to The Institution

This is a semi-lit role play based off the book The Clockwork Angel of The Infernal Devises Series written by Cassandra Claire.
If you haven’t read the story, The Clockwork Angel, it’s set in London, England in the 1800s. When a sixteen-year-old girl goes to England to find her brother and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos of Downworld. The girl is kidnapped once she arrives in England by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club. The girl soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform into another person by holding an object that once belonged or still belongs to that person. The Dark Sisters prepared the girl for the Magister, a powerful vampire leader named Alexi De Quincy, who wants to claim her powers as his own. She escapes with the help of a shadowhunter who was investigating the home of the Dark Sisters. Then she takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon becomes friends with two shadowhunters. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, the girl realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world

This story, however, is set in modern times. The original characters are long gone and there’s a new power on the rise. This new power is an extremely powerful vampire named, Christoff DeLovett. He was a follower of De Quincy and vowed revenge on the shadowhunters. It’s up to the current shadowhunters to track him down and stop him. In this story, you will meet other shadowhunters, talk to downworlder allies, fight evil downworlder followers, and taken down Christoff DeLovett. Are you ready?

Shadowhunter

The head of The Institute of London-
My name: Cecily Goldenrod
Age: 22
My life: Clairissa has been in the Institution since she was a young girl. Her parents ran the institution before her and her grandparents before them. The Institute ran in her blood. She's a strong warrior and she has a kind heart. She was 11 years old when her mother found Alex outside the gates of the institution. Her parents were killed during a battle against Downworlders and she instantly inherited the Institute. She's the only other person besides Alex's partner knows her secret.
I look like this: User Image

My controller: xXxCryptic AngelxXx

Weapon Specialist-

Spy #1-
My name: Alexandra Everheart
Age: 16
My life: Alex has been training to be a shadowhunter ever since she could walk. Her parents loved their job for they knew they were helping the mundane world along with Downworld. They always called her their 'Little Angel'... that is, until they were killed by Christoff. She was ablle to escape, even after Christoff's follower grabbed her from behind and covered her mouth so she couldn't scream. Big mistake. Being the smart little girl she was, she bit down on his hand unfortunately, he was a vampire. She, then, made her way to the institute, mouth covered in blood. When she got there they took her in immediately for she was a shadowhunter. They gave her excessive amounts of holy water to clear the blood from her system. This is when she was only six years old. She's lived there ever since. When The Institute began to bring in Downworlders who claimed to be their allies, she was skeptical at first. So far, She’s only able to completely trust one Downworlder: her best friend. It took her forever to actually trust him. She’s been on countless missions with him and he even saved her life once. She felt like she owed him that. That is, until she repaid him by saving him and she chose to stay by his side. She’s become attached to him. She’s his best friend and he’s hers. They’re inseparable and they both have the same goal.
I look like this: User Image
I am: a shadowhunter
My abilities: she’s strong and the fastest shadowhunter at the London Institute
I'm like this: She’s rude and disrespectful to downworlders and other people she can’t trust. She also has a tendency of doing that when she’s angry and annoyed with someone as well. She’s talkative to people she comfortable with talking to and has a tendency to babble. She’s smart and creative. She’s also strong willed and has a tendency to do stupid things that could most likely get her killed.
My Job is: Spy
I like: –sparring
-reading
-drawing
-messing around
-breaking rules
I dislike: –lighting
-needles
-downworlders
My partner is:
You may need to know: She has a secret. When she was younger, after her parents were murdered and she was living in the Institute, she had always ended up biting vampires whenever she faught them. This is not good for shadowhunters. Eventually there was so much vampire blood in her system, her body began to rely on it even if she never turned into a vampire. She has to take blood tablets to help control her hunger. Hopefully they're enough. Only her best friend and the head of the institute know about it. Unless, of course, she decided to tell someone else. She has random fits of coughing where she coughs up blood. That's because she's slowly dying. When she does die, she'll be a vampire and an ally for the Clave.
My controller: xXxCryptic AngelxXx

Spy #2-

My name:Gavin Araltian
Age: 18 physically (32 realistically)
My life: raised for 18 years as a mundane hidden by his adoptive vampire mother, he was finally given the choice to be turned and join the ranks of the downworlders. Accepting her offer to gain a better understanding of downworlder life, he watched from afar and became disgusted by the corruption in the new life he found. After a group of demons retrieved data that his mother had been housing a mundane, her along with Gavin's vampiric sister were executed. These actions stirred his want and need to seek out justice, finding it only by joining the ranks of the Shadowhunters.
I look like this: A picture of me
I am: a Downworlder
I am of: Vampire blood
My abilities: Durable, stealthy, slight regeneration, extremely agile, incredibly perceptive.
I'm like this: sarcastic, introverted, protective, morally upright (though sometimes willing to make the hard decisions)
My Job is: Assassin (data retievement and target elimination)
I like: darkness, innocence, training, reading
I dislike: obnoxiousness, failing, corruption
I’m allied with the Shadowhunters because: At first, to seek vengeance on a downworlder gang for killing his mother and sister, later for reasons concerning his newfound moral standing and his attachment to his partner.
You may need to know: (revealed throughout plot)
My controller: StaticStigma

Warriors-
My name:Walker Triste
Age:14
My life: She grew up knowing little about being a shadowhunter. Her parents had never really payed much attention to her since they were always so caught up in their jobs. Walker was able to understand this but she was desperate to learn. She started with books and watched as other shadowhunters drew runes with their steels. She made a note off of every observation and taught herself. When she had reached her teenage year she had known more than she ever thought she would. Her parents didn't take the time to even act impressed. This only saddened Walker a little but she decided that she would learn more and she would be able to earn respect. Her parents are usually never home now and Walker is able to sneak around as much as she wanted without worrying about her parents yelling at her for the places she's been. She usually just studies what others are doing and she never interferes with much.
I look like this: Webpage Title
I am: a shadowhunter
My abilities: Smooth talker (manipulative), is pretty talented with a knife, great reflexes.
I'm like this: Walker is smart but can often be gullible. She can be pretty trusting but she can often assume things that give her the wrong idea. She has a passion for writing and drawing. She likes to be alone but she also likes to watch other shadowhunters for amusement.
My Job is: Warrior. (Still training)
I like: Fighting, reading, finding ways to entertain herself.
I dislike: Anyone who tries to harm her, tight spaces, large crowds.
My partner is:
You may need to know: It takes her a long while to get to know someone.
My controller biggrin ark Shinotenshi

Downworlder good guys

My name: Valdimir Tod
Age: 17
My life: N/A(unfolds in the story)
I look like this: User Image
I am: a Downworlder
I am of: Vampire blood
My abilities:Telepath, invisiblity, hyperspeed, and sonic cry
I'm like this: Quite, laidback, smart, fearless
My Job is: Guardian
I like: The dark ,Blood ,killing the enermy, portecting the one i love or have to protect.
I dislike: The enermy, annoying people.
I’m allied with the Shadowhunters because: I protect them from harm and give them info
You may need to know:I am no to anyone.
My controller: Puppy Mello

My name: Collet Walker
Age: 18
My life: There's not much to say for Collet. She is a downworlder, but cast out of packs for her personality and diversion to violence. She was attacked several times for this, and so she cast herself out officially from the rest of the werewolves and tried to live among the mundanes, to no avail. She's seen the shadowhunters before, and perhaps half out of fear of bing hunted down by them, she's decided to instead join them.
I look like this:
User Image
I am: a Downworlder
I am of: Werewolf Blood
My abilities: To change into a wolf. Not pure wolf, but it is a canine demon on four legs and is actually bigger than a normal wolf. Her hearing and smell are excelled too as well as her agility.
I'm like this: Collet doesn't like to fight when she doesn't have to. By instinct she can if she's in danger. But mostly she's a strangely awkward and peaceful downworlder. She is easily agitated however by certain things, usually involving her research or books.
My Job is: Research and Information
I like: Canines, Books, Researching
I dislike: Vampires (mostly out of fear), Violence and Fighting, Cats
I’m allied with the Shadowhunters because: She doesn't fit in anywhere else. The downworlder werewolves all would try to kill her if she tried to ally myself with them, and so she proved her non-physical abilities could be useful to someone at least. They also provide her protection from the other werewolves.
You may need to know: She is almost always found where the books and information is kept in the Institute, she really doesn't go outside of the Institute a lot unless she is told to or really has to. About the only way to see the worse side of her is to endager her research.
My controller: Skittles N Cyanide

Alexandra Everheart

Alex yawned and opened her eyes. She looked around her room and at her bed and smiled sleepily. She had been in this room for over 10 years and nothing had changed. Well, except for the fact that she was older and more of the things in the room she actually owned. She stretched and crawled out of bed, looking back only once, wishing she could go back to it. Unfortunately, days at the institute began at 9:00, 10:00 on weekends.

She walked over to her dresser and scoweled at her reflection. Her dark hair stuck out in every direction and her blue eyes shimmered with sleep. She pulled her brush through her hair and winced after every knot. Once she was satisfied with her reflection, she walked over to her closet and pulled on her favorite black tunic with light blue almost luminesant feathers stiched into the front along with black shorts and her knee high black boots. Then she slipped out into one of the many hallways that filled the Institute. She made her way to the dinning hall where, she hoped, she would find the others. I really hope no one's made a mess of things. she thought.

Walker Triste

Walker grinned to herself. She had slipped inside the institute! Surely she would learn all she needed to know here. Her parents had only taken her here a few times but usually it was for matters concerning their work and Walker never had time to wonder. She was crouched, leaning back against a wall, a grey notebook tucked under one arm and a red colored pen in another hand. She had been making observations. Taking note of every little detail in the notebook. She stood, her legs tired from being bent in the same position and Walker wasn't seeing any action. Not that it would be expected. She just hoped to see someone actually doing something that would catch her interest. She nervously bit one of her nails as she strolled down one of the halls. She hoped that she would spot somewhere familiar to her. The institute was so huge that she really had no idea where she was going. She thought that if her parents weren't always so busy they would have just dropped her off here to learn what she needed to know. She hadn't seen her parents for two months now. Walker wasn't concerned, just a little lost. She was confident though and worked on navigating her way through the halls.

Alex walked down the hallway, dimly lit from the lights in the celing. She traced her hand along the wall as if it was a map leading her to the dinning hall. When she was mostly there, she noticed a girl wondering about the halls. She seemed to be writing down everything she saw. She looked excited like she had accomplished a life long goal. Alex watched her a moment as she moved closer to the girl.

When she was close enough she said in a loud voice, "What do you think you're doing in here, mundane? This place is... wait... You opened the door. Only shadowhunters can do that. So you're a shadowhunter, huh? What's your name?"

Walker Triste

Walker was a bit startled when someone spoke to her, she turned to face them. It was another girl who appeared to be a little older than herself. Walker tried not to look suspicious. She clenched her notebook tighter. "Umm..." she said trying to remember the question. She had asked for her name. "Walker Triste," she said slowly but with some confidence. She shifted a bit, tapping her foot nervously. She didn't think she would have any reason to be nervous. She was a shadowhunter and she should be alowed to be in the institute.

Alex studied the girl a moment. She looked to be about 14, two years younger than herself. She looked like she had very little training so she knew that she didn't come from Idris. Alex cleared her throat and calmed down. She was a little annoyed becuase she thought Walker was a mundane. Clearly she wasn't. "I'm sorry I yelled at you, Walker. I thought you were a mundane that snuck in here. There hasn't been a mundane in here for years. I'm Alex, by the way. Alexandra Everheart. It's nice to meet you. Where did you come from if you don't mind me asking. It wasn't from Idris was it? Does Cicily know you're here?" She asked in a kind voice. She was trying to make up for her yelling earlier and hoped that she was. She didn't need an enemy.

Collet Walker

Collet looked up and sniffed once. Hm. She took the headphones that covered her ears and slipped them off, placing them down. Music could still be heard through them. There was some activity going on out there, though she wasn't sure what. She was in the study of the Institute, reading up on a few things. She had a habit of waking up earlier than she had to, but no one really got onto her about it. She'd been here for a couple of years now, and they didn't seem to mind. As long as she kept providing them with what they let her in for. And she didn't mind either. As long as she didn't have to go back to the streets where her fellow lycanthropes were waiting to try and strike her down again.

She looked up at the time. Oh. She stood up, shutting her mp3 player off. It would be about time to head to the dining hall to eat. She still wasn't completely sure how the other shadowhunters felt about having Collet actually living within their walls, but she really meant no harm. Wasn't that why she was here? She only stayed inside the institute as much as possible because she couldn't re-enter this place unless she was let in again by one of the shadowhunters. She sniffed the air. Well, of course there were a lot of scents. There was one unfamiliar one nearby. She wasn't sure if she should go investigate or just head go ahead to the dining hall. Maybe it'd be safer if I just went ahead... She shook her head and just headed to the dining hall.

Walker Triste

Cicily? Walker thought. The name only sounded slightly familiar. She decided that she could only answer the first question. "Uh... No. I'm from a little further away..." she didn't know what to say besides that. She didn't live in Idris. She lived in a little house just outside, in France, but she was born in Idris. She hadn't visited in a while. Her parents were in Alicante at the moment. "I came here to... settle my curiosity." She clenched her notebook even tighter but she felt better now that Alex was using a kind voice. Walker had been very tense before and now she felt more calm. "I don't usually come here. My parents are usually busy so I have to get around on my own," Walker explained, tappin her pen against nothing but air. She felt like she had to keep moving if she was just standing there. Stillness didn't cooperate well with her.
