I really wanna get my vertical labret done, but worried about swelling since my body swells up a lot if jewelry is too small and rings work way better
emo

I don't think a ring in a vertical labret would be a good idea, aesthetically or physically. Just make sure to tell your piercer that you tend to swell a lot and they should give you an extra long barbell. And go for as small of ends as you can, they take off a lot of unnecessary weight.

No, I don't think so either, since it'd be more of a pain.
I'm gonna look into it and ask a piercer or two out of town when I go in July or October.
It'd suck having it swell a lot and I'm like super paranoid about it.

Make sure to have them write down the length of the jewelry they use, so if it does end up being too small, you can quickly order or pick up something in the next size or two up. And again, the smallest ends you can get will take off a lot of unnecessary weight which can help keep swelling to a minimum. Or at least make sure the bottom end is extra small, since gravity won't work against it, if that makes sense.

Oh! Good idea!
We have a piercer in town here now but they're not full time which kinda sucks.
But was wondering, if I were to get it done, if I could ask (or even buy) for the next size of jewelry, since I could get it changed in town here.
And no, that makes sense!
I might go in and ask and think about it, since I'm debating on other piercings but I wanna be extra careful with a lip piercing!

You'll probably have to buy the extra barbell. I did that with my tongue piercing; I had it done in Seattle and didn't trust anyone locally to do it or even change it, the nearest place I would trust was a 2 hour drive away. So I requested the downsized length I'd need and just held on to it for 2-3 weeks while the swelling when down, then changed it myself. I'd been going to that piercer for a long time so she knew and trusted me to be able to do it properly.

But yeah, I see no reason why they wouldn't sell you an extra longer one just in case, and even a shorter one you could downsize yourself into if you wanted. And even if you don't end up using the longer one, keep it as an emergency backup piece. I carry a baggy of extras in my purse at all times in case I lose something.

Greedy Millionaire

I have my entire left forearm blacked out. I live in Brooklyn, NY so it's never really a conversation piece. When I lived in Upstate NY people often grabbed my arm and asked me about it.

i've been putting off tattoos for so long because i haven't found any artists i like, but i just recently found two (including the one that just did the jellyfish) so i'm hoping to soon accomplish my goal of being covered in tats.

I'm able to be scheduled in for a piercing on the 18th and a tattoo consultation as well.
I'm hoping to get my dogs paw prints somewhere.
So I'm gonna ask about my vert. labret while I'm there, gonna get my anti tragus done (again)

Looked up how to get them so hopefully my dog will cooperate!

Yeah, I just discovered the app last month. It's a mobile-based collection of communities...they have specific interests and posts are required to be on topic. (Like, I'm a member of the tattoo one, anime one, and star trek one.)

Just curious, because I post blogs/updates about my tattoos as I get them...and I'd love to follow anyone else who is on there. n____n

(Speaking of, I just finished my chest piece yesterday)

Friendly Bunny

Hi there! I just got an industrial yesterday, and am a bit conflicted on the after care, so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

My piercer told me to mix sea salt and warm water, and clean the area with a qtip. But prior to getting it done I had done research and many said to either dip the piercing in the water and hold it there, or to soak a paper towel in it and hold it on the piercing. The only reason I question what the piercer told me is because it doesn't seem like just cleaning the area with a qtip would be that effective, but I may be over thinking it.

So anyone with any experience if you could please let me know what you did, that'd be great. This is my first real piercing (aside from ear lobes as a kid) so I don't really have a lot of experience!
