Hey guys! Have you missed me? Sorry for being gone for so long! RL got crazy and Gaia fell by the wayside (as internet things tend to do). But you all kept this going and I'm so amazed by every one of you! OH MAN. I can't get over this!
Anyway, for those who care (lol), i'm at 11mm - and so close to 12mm! - in my first holes. 12MM, BITCHES! Upper lobes got downsized to 8ga from 6ga because of stupid blowouts that came out of nowhere. Don't you hate those?
8mm helix punches are planned, so hopefully sometime soon! I'll post pics.

I just wanted to put a warning out to all you DIYers. if you make plugs and talons and things for stretched piercings, please PLEASE DO NOT make them out of Fimo/Sculpy clay. it is in fact toxic to put in your naked ears, especially new piercings. PLEASE DON'T DO IT.
but if you've got nice wood or bone or horn and know what you are doing, then by all means have at it! <3 For those who want to start DIYing, have some Jewelry Material 411!
Who's Gotta Grudge Against Gauges?
Gauge is not a proper verb for this body modification. Gauge is a unit of measurement, in this case. it's actually a US measurement. everyone else goes by mm. Gauging is an incorrect use (as well as expanding and spacing, both of which I've also heard used). The dictionary I looked up in says nothing about it being an intransitive verb, nor does it say anything about adapting to a specified measurement.

Stretching is correct, as it's the process of stretching the skin to a larger size. Stretch is the verb.
gauging =/= stretching.
And please don't call us elitists. We're not stuck up. We just want people to know the right way to do things, the safe way to do things. Using the right words is part of that.
And for those who would like to start stretching, I have a few links of wisdom to offer to you. The more informed you are before doing this, the better it is for you and your ears.
