Okay, it's more like a concept right now, but I promise I'll flesh it out given time.
Random person: "But you said that ye---!"

Concept

Since the beginning of human civilization, there have been music. Like the songs of the birds that fly free, the songs of humans have carried messages with them: emotions, a lesson, a story. As our society and technology evolved, so has our music. Computers and softwares can make it so that almost anyone can be a one man band.

However, in the world of music, the past lives side by side with the present and the future. Traditional instruments are still in existence; classic favorites are still loved; their messages and meanings still lives.

This shop will bring to life those messages and meanings, the notes and chords that are the building blocks of song.

Note: The beginning of every Song is a Note. There are four of these little guys: Whole Note, Half Note, Quarter Note, and Eighth Note. They can't really do much now. However, they do jingle when you shake it. Maybe you could wear it on a necklace or something?

Chord: This is the equivalent of the baby stage. These little guys just hatched from their Note. Sure, they don't look too hot, but you've heard of the story of the "Ugly Duckling", right? Again, these guys jingle when they move. This time, though, it sounds as if there were multiple bells instead of just one. They can also chirp, but nothing too difficult, just a note or two and maybe some scales. Oh, and you might want to take them off of that necklace now...>>

Melody/Harmony: Aw, look! Those barely feathered chicks grew into their adorable little teen stage! Depending upon your Chord's gender, it will grow into either a Melody (female) or a Harmony (male). Now that their wings have grown to a decent size, the Melodies and Harmonies can fly for short distances. A chorus of jingles follow them whenever they move. Occasionally, people have claim to hear a hint of some other instruments in there something beside the bells. Harp? Lyre? Xylophones? Or was it chimes? Their vocal chords have also grown, so now they can actually sing. Their song is pleasing to the ear, but it still sound as if something is missing...

Song: At last, that Ugly Duckling looses even more of the sheet music look and grows into its beautiful adult stage! These pretty critters have an even greater wingspan, thus allowing them to fly great distances to spread their music or relay messages between owners. Upon reaching the Song stage, your little bird's vocal chords have completely matured. This gives them the gift of human speech as well as the ability to produce the most marvelous music any mortal has ever heard.

More about the Songs

Unlike most other animals, Songs are very attached to humans. They aren't exactly dependent upon us, however they do greatly enjoy our company and will often seek out humans to befriend.

Generally speaking, Songs are peaceful and good-natured little critters. If they befriend a human as an adult, their attitude and behaviors will not change. However, if they grew up with that human from Note to Song, then they will reflect their owner's nature, whatever it may be.

Like any other animal, Songs needs food. They will eat your average birdseeds and nuts, but they prefer to have fresh fruits instead.

The Cert:

Since this shop is heavily based on music theory, our cert is slightly different than others in that it too is full of music. Meet Zorina. She will act as a sample so that I may explain the cert.

Clef: This describes the gender of your Note. The treble clef, like what you see on Zorina's cert, says that she's female. The bass clef says that the Note is male.
Time Signature: The time signature tells you which stage your pet is in. 1/4 means that your Note is in its "egg" stage. 2/4 means that it's now a chick. 3/4 means that it grew to be a teenager. 4/4 means that it's finally an adult!
Note: The faded note under the Date of Birth represents which species your Note is. In Zorina's case, she's an Eighth Note.
Generation: The 1 over the faded eighth note means that Zorina is part of the first generation of pets here in Note-Worthy. As breeding starts, that will change to 2, 3, etc.
