What Moth Feathers said, about adding fruits and veggies to their diet, its important. You can start by sharing pieces with them, if you have them out with you. Eat a slice of an apple and share it with them, eating is a very social habit in birds. I've gotten my Black Talm to try almost anything as long as I show him I can eat it too.

And as far as tackling the computer screen, he's conditioned a fear in you that he can sense, most likely, whenever she types to you, on some subconscious level, you think "oh crepe, he comes the bird" and when he sense that, he's all after you to protect you. That's just my guess, oh and join us in the living with feathered friends support thread anytime, we'd love to have you there, link is in my signature

Trust me there is no fear when he gets near my computer and Martini is not very intimidating, He's a small bundle of Puff, I just think his hate for her is THAT deep
Love birds are such cute little things. I am not a major bird person, but I have always liked them. I am adding this thread to the Betterment and Education thread.

Desirable Seeker

I have a love bird. Her name is Kiwi. She snaps at my fingers ALL the time and squawks ( that sound cannot be considered chripping D: ) .... alot. I'm not sure if she is afraid of my hand or not, because if I move towards her she runs away, but if I stay still she comes right on over and bites me or (on the rare occasion) tries and push my hand away. Another things to support that she isn't afriad of me is when ever she gets out (or I let her out) and I'm on my computer she hops right onto the key board and chases my hands around.

Once while I was cleaning her cage I left her in my room and when I came back right when I opened the door she flew at my face. D: Scared the s**t outta me! Soon after that while I was putting her cage back together she landed on my shoulder...then used my ear to pull herself up onto my head. I took her off, me no want bird poop in mah hair! However, it was really cute! >.< Oh, yeah, I read somewhere that when a lovebird puffs out its feathers that means it aggetated or something along those line. But, when ever my bird puffs out her feathers it's when she looks really relaxed. Did I read that info wrong? Prolly... >3<

I had a lovebird once, her name was Sasha. My aunt selfishly bought her without also getting the bird she was paired with. She was given to us after my aunt agrew tired of her and she was very aggressive. After our quaker parrot's, who's named Cocoa, mate died, she almost died of depression. So my mom took the chance in seeing how Sasha and Cocoa would react towards eachother. Cocoa was reluctant, but Sasha ran up to her and snuggled first chance. The two became inseperable ^_^

A neighbor of mine had a lutino lovebird since I was a child. When she was getting up in years and felt as though she couldn’t take care of her anymore due to ailing health, she gave her to me. Her name was Peaches, and she was the sweetest little thing ever. When I got her, I knew she had to be at least 19 years old.

Peaches would nestle up onto my chest when I was reading and fall asleep, it was so sweet. And she loved apples, every time I would cut one up, she’d chirp and flutter so she’d get my attention. She was such a sweet bird. Hopefully when I move into my apartment I can buy another, as she sadly passed away two years ago.
