We all know that the previous management of GaiaOnline shot the economy; the game has lost a lot of good members because of this. In a recent announcement, the admin came out and said that they're bringing back the MEGA-expensive project tickets with the minimum cost of $199.99. Their reasoning for this was outlined in their recent announcement and, as an old-school Gaia user, one line stuck out the most to me:
The steep price tags for Project Tickets that, from what I've read, are already backlogged develops a sort of road block for those who are sympathetic to the cause but, for any number of reasons, have an aversion to donating within the game. (I.e.- Fear of card number / PayPal information being stolen by keyloggers or security breeches.) Another issue that comes from providing more tickets that are already backlogged is that it incurs more financial strain on the company as a whole as well as strain on the artists because now they're just adding to their already large pile of things to work on which increases hours and labor to manage.
The previous management did have one thing right, though: people get happy seeing results. Back then the result was seeing their bank get bigger and bigger by paying a seemingly inconsequential amount. Now we can possibly save Gaia with that same principle merged with nostalgia. My suggestion is to utilize a crowdfunding update feature to show what we need to get back on track and mitigate any more damage for the future. Yes, this removes the reward-for-cash system that the company has been using but with the amount of users that play now versus how many users used to play when we were younger, we can reach a whole new base and potentially bring back some of the old users thus increasing our numbers with old regulars that may be willing to put even more money in.
As a user, I want to know how far behind the company is and what I can do to make it easier on the employees. We already get announcements on the same items over and over again, what's one more announcement saying "we have a goal and we need help obtaining it?" Update the number monthly by reaching to the financial department to work up a breakdown of what is gained monthly through revenue plus anything that would be gained through any other sources such as (and this is simply an example) GoFundMe. When people see they're making a difference about something they care about or have once cared about it offers the same feeling as receiving something they want.
Thank you for reading and I hope you consider this petition.
And in case it actually starts getting signatures and I don't get to thank you, thank you for signing.

Gaia Online as it is now inherited a lot of debt from the previous management that we are still trying to pay off. We are still trying to pay off loans and past employees as best we can.
