It's absolutely adorable! I'm so happy you have George in there c: I'm digging the brighter color scheme than what I had previously thought I wanted. I've ordered graphics here a few times but lately it seems that every time I wait for a slot for an artist to open up,

I understand what you mean.. :/
I recently just took a shot in the dark and requested
and it was accepted, although the people on the list came first.
I still think its up to the artist but you can ask one that you prefer
to see if they will waitlist you.
But also I have noticed that some people pay attention to if the artist
has recently finished a request and dropped the pick up link for the person
as a signal to drop their order before someone else can.
