In a half sleep state
I drifted slowly in vacillation
In a sea of linen,
Wading, waiting in anticipation

Show me what I'm waiting for
Show me now, I'm wanting more
The somnolence evades me
The words and thoughts escape me

I want to see that face
I yearn for deep sleeps embrace;
This insomnia, to relinquish -
This anxiety, not my wish

I'm lost with no compass
You can't save me from drowning
I'm already gone under
I can hear the waves pounding

My mind is barely at peace
These thoughts are amaranthine
Ceaseless, relentless, brain invading
Sometimes the anxiety is frustrating

My skin just misses you,
And I like your smile,
I wouldn't mind seeing you,
Its been too long a while

Watch the water pull me down,
The air escapes as I start to drown
The pressure crushing all around
Set me free from light and sound

The sleep sets in, the dreams are here
Perhaps to stay, its still not clear
Maybe now I can lay and slumber
Maybe joined under the covers
