Oh, god. Last year I totally forgot about NaNoWriMo until a few days after November started. I keep wanting to since I found out about it like four or five years ago, but I still haven't even done an outline or thought of what I want to write or anything!

You don;t even really need anything. Just start writing. A lot of people who write, particularly for NaNoWriMo do the same thing. Some of them refer to the process as "pantsing".

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Shovel?

Is that a Yaya or Pants reference?
I was sort of thinknig of the pants, as applied to The Towering Infernal Shovel of Impending DOOOOOOM!

It's amazing how I suddenly have the urge to do some character profiling when I have a midterm to study for =D

I made myself a NaNo calendar for a wallpaper. It's Michael Fassbender. I regret nothing ._.

Yipes hun. Do your midterm studying first before you do your NaNo. I am 2 weeks ahead in my college Math class. Thank goodness the class is self paced for that very reason. I have 2 tests to take over my unit and then I will be in the next unit and quickly going through that one. I got my NaNo planned pretty much. =)

Oh, I know people like to wing it, too...and okay, I kind of lied, I sort of have an idea for a story but it's scrambled, so writing it down would help me out. xd

there is one, nice thing about National Novel Writing Month. No matter what stage of the writing you're on, you know someone else is at a similar stage. Share the pain, share the joy, right?

Tell me about it whee I don't have exams, but I do have a ton of work to do, and all I feel like doing instead is developing my cast and planning some key scenes. I have the urge to NaNo! Which I suppose is good, but I can't help worrying it will die down a couple of weeks into November. Or that I simply won't have time to write even if I really want to.

I feel like making my NaNo Ten Commandments xD

1. Thou shalt write at least 2000 words every day
2. Thou shalt remember to feed thy cat
3. Thou shalt not let thy characters run rampant
4. If thine characters doth not obey thee, kill them
5. Thou shalt make time for thy roommate
6. Thou shalt stay on track with thine schoolwork
7. Thou shalt refer to thine outline whenever thou doth not know where to go
8. Thou shalt only eat dinner when thou hath accomplished thy goal
9. Thou shalt not forego thine sleep entirely
10. If all fail, thou hath permission to release the kraken upon thy characters

Those are basically my rules too, except for number two. Instead of feeding the cat, I'm the one who cleans his litter box. Everyone else feeds that fat fluff ball.

I feed and water the cat, AND change the litter-box! Of course, except for her, I live alone, so I can't ask anyone else to do it. :3 I can't ask her to do it, either. I'm the one with the fingers. Her paws and claws are for other uses, such as tearing up the furniture.

I’m so screwed class wise, with or without NaNo. I’m doing find in Japanese and health but the philosophy class I’m taking is honestly just terrible. I might have to switch it to a pass/fail grade so it doesn’t mess up my GPA. (I have a 4.0, I’m a ridiculously a**l about keeping it there. It will probably give me a stress heart attack, to be honest.) Lucky you to be set though! Even if I could bring myself to read ahead in philosophy it wouldn’t matter, because when the time came for discussions I would have forgotten all the content >.<

Enchantedsleeper

My situation is more that I am a terrible, terrible procrastinator and NaNo gives me an excuse to do it haha. I haven't had the faintest urge to outline until something I need to do more pops up. And as far as the dying down thing goes 99% of us go through that, it’s something you just have to push through! And everyone here is willing to help you!

Dapper Fatcat

I do the litter box too. Though she would never let me forget to do one of those things with the way she squawks until she gets what she wants xD Food's most important, though, as she needs her meds.

Witty Warrior

It's times like this that I'm glad I live waaaay out in the country and don't have to clean up after my dog >.>

Gracious Ladykiller

I feel like I should create new characters for my NaNo project, but D: I have such a soft spot for all of them, and my characters kind of fit.

Sorry, characters are the most important part of the story and I don't have any other characters I can use, and making them up on the spot is silly.

Okay! How's pre-planning coming along for everyone else?
