How do you purchase your music. Are you digital only, cd, or vinyl? I'm curious to see where everyone stands on this.

Personally I am a mixture of CD's and Digital. heart My newest car doesn't have a CD player built in, so I buy a few songs digitally on my ipod and then buy the full CD's for the house if i like the artist enough.

Digital & CD. Vinyl's not worth the effort & comparatively very limited in utility.

Digital's convenient & ready to go, but if you have the patience to rip the CDs themselves, you can get real high quality sound. 3nodding

I used to buy a ton of CDs but these days I mostly use Spotify. So if I buy an album, it's probably vinyl.

Tipsy Bloodsucker

i'll buy cds/records/tapes anywhere i can get them {preferably from the artists directly). every once in a while i'll buy an album digitally from bandcamp.

I usually buy physical for my absolute favorite groups, but other groups I'll try to buy mp3 if that's an option (like bandcamp) but I don't have amazon or itunes so I can't buy there.

If I can't buy the mp3, then I find a download link to it, because I don't have spotify or any streaming service and I use an mp3 player mostly.

The landscape has changed so much that I don't really have an option except to download these days. So many musicians aren't even selling mp3 anymore.
Predominantly vinyl! If I go to a concert and the band has a vinyl release, I'll always try and buy a copy - I love being able to have an 'archive' of the concerts I've been to, and it's a great way to directly support the band!
Otherwise, I often crate dig, and use Discogs to try and source my harder-to-find favourites. That being said, I will sometimes... archive... any rips of particularly hard to find albums/songs which I enjoy, whenever they appear on YouTube. I've had too many favourite hard-to-find tracks be removed from YouTube that are impossible to find on albums and vinyl!

Yo ho, yo ho~ ninja

Honestly, if I like an artist enough I'll buy a CD, but it's rare that I even like more than ~5 songs by one artist anymore.

Aged Seeker

I'll buy a CD every now and again from my most favorite artists, but more often than not, I'm listening to Spotify for my music fix, or using YouTube to the artists that aren't on Spotify.

I usually buy my favorite CDs for collecting but I end up ripping them so I can listen to them digitally anyway. Otherwise for buying I'll usually go with bandcamp or where-ever the music is sold if not on there.

It is fun busting out the CD player sometimes still :>

Also on the topic of physical releases like CDs, there's just something so special about getting a lyric booklet, poster, and sometimes stickers with them 3nodding

But if I really like an artist, I buy their music and maybe some merch. Merch is where the money's at.

I used to buy a lot of CDs, then I used to convert CDs on iTunes for my ipod. Then I switched over to just watching MVs and lyric vids on Youtube for the longest time. Nowadays I mostly use Spotify or YT. I do buy physical copies of CDs for my favorite artists.
