Kin Skill Type and Stat MVPs

What influences you the most in deciding which kin to level?

I like the kin's skill type(s).	3.0%	[ 30 ]
The kin has a high Damage stat.	17.9%	[ 180 ]
The kin has a high Life stat.	2.1%	[ 21 ]
The kin has a high Resist stat.	1.5%	[ 15 ]
The kin will be good at taking on Sycamortes/other bosses.	27.8%	[ 280 ]

I like the kin's color scheme.	3.5%	[ 35 ]
The kin is my favorite animal.	3.8%	[ 38 ]

Can someone help me put together a new A and B team?
I'd like a team for killing Sycamortes or the strongest possible team I can make with my current kins.
I finally got some nice new kins from the new RIG and I don't know anything about kins.

Depends on what you're looking for! Do you want kins who are hard-hitters who will eventually be able to take on Sycamortes? Do you want to level them for their equips? Or would you prefer to level them based on their rewards? Or do you just want to play with ones you find aesthetically pleasing?

EDIT: I was also wondering which kin you would suggest splicing with the glowing shard? There's threads offering free splices/kin as long as you provide the shard and I'd like to use one of the shards I received...but I don't know which kin is best.

Hmm...probably want to talk to someone more expert than I (my highest level kin is 30 and I have yet to hunt Sycamortes), but based on sheer damage you'll probably at least want to level Dasher and Fafnir. Bloody Stagony, Filigris, and Shadow Barkhest are also up there, but again, don't take my word for it. xD;; (I like the grunnies the best but they certainly aren't the best kin.)

In addition to damage you'll also want kin with high life to take on Sycamortes. You can get more info on stats here and here if that helps you decide. :3 Those guide owners would probably be more helpful than I as well. xD;;

Level 50 stats for the five I mentioned:

Dasher - 701 Life, 505 Damage
Fafnir - 747 Life, 502 Damage
Bloody Stagony - 600 Life, 458 Damage
Filigris - 701 Life, 456 Damage
Shadow Barkhest - 559 Life, 407 Damage

As for splicing, I don't recall that any of them have super stellar stats, so it's more about the aesthetic of the kin. Again, others will probably have better advice than I! If you're looking for the spliced kin with the highest damage, if I recall correctly that's Pumpkin Barkhest with 433 Damage at level 50.

Good luck deciding! I have so many kin I want to level. xD;; I am leveling Dasher and Fafnir right now though and like them a lot.

I ended up putting all of the level 50 stats in a spreadsheet on my computer so that I can conveniently sort and compare them. redface
