I'm tempted to do a few lovebug recolors for this. redface I shouldn't, but I'm tempted.

Also: the most annoying bug I can recall is couple of days a few years back where we weren't getting quote notifications and I had a lot of people quoting me for some reason at that time. It was rather difficult/annoying to have to be watching so many threads at once. My computer was on the fritz so it really fried the battery to have so many tabs up. (I don't know why. The two shouldn't have been related.) It was a relatively minor bug, all things considered, but still rather obnoxious. Although that was probably more the computer malfunction than the bug...

Ah, so many epic bugs to consider. That one was very obnoxious and it's happened more than once over the years.

It's hard for me to pick the worst one. There were the ones that kept me off Gaia (log in bugs), the complete breakdowns of notifications, the complete loss of an extensive wish list--twice!, but the one I remember most vividly totally ended the original reason I came onto Gaia in the first place. I originally came over with a group of friends from another forum so we could enjoy animated chatting in towns and houses. There were on and off about 15 of us. We spent a lot of time developing our houses for fun meetup spaces and also enjoyed the seasonal variations in towns. About a year or so in, people would disappear and not be able to join the chat because they got split off to a different server that couldn't see the rest of the group. This got progressively worse fairly rapidly until people couldn't get on at all and chats were impossible. We waited but eventually went somewhere else to chat. Most of the group left Gaia; only I and one other friend remain and she's only on very occasionally. The bug was never fixed. A year and a half later they did 2 things. They replaced the servers with better ones and they debuted towns2 which was never as user friendly as the original towns and by then everyone was gone.

People have told me of another even worse bug earlier on. There was a server and database crash and everyone lost their inventories permanently and had to start over. Apparently half their membership left over it.

Oh a lovebug pun one would be great. Bad puns are encouraged in this event. rofl burning_eyes burning_eyes

Gaia should consider using me to help with the bug problem for a couple of reasons. (1) I'm the reigning Queen of a select group of bees, so not only do I command bees (or, at least some of them), I have thus garnered a great deal of respect from other bugs. (2) As Queen, I am trained in the art of diplomacy and should, hopefully, be able to talk bugs into doing my our bidding. And last, but not least, (3) I travel armed at all times. Disobedient and resistant bugs will be put down without mercy or hesitation.

However, Gaia should also not consider me because I am a Queen Bee and, as such, my loyalty is to bugs. (Live long and prosper, bug folks.) I also have a questionable and poorly hidden desire to rule the Gaian universe that would probably not work in their favor.* You know, just a little one.

*Kidding. I only have that desire for the purposes of this avatar/explanation. Outside of that, I'm content in the background.

I have bugs but I'm p sure Gaia would want to avoid my help to resolve any buggy problems they have. My suggestion would be to fire the deadwood on the staff. lol

As for helping, I am not tech savy to do so. I would probably add more bugs. lol

There is one I think is called entomophobia or something like that but that one was truly scary featuring spiders or worms crawling all over the avi. I noticed Kitty has a few of them in her older items list so I posted that in the event for people to use.

Hehehe; I was talking about my irl cats... We all have a ton of cat items now. I remember the days when those were rare premium items.

....that's cats plural....7 rescued cats all from one feral litter. My house will never be the same again with this group and we've rescued many cats over the years. eek Obviously I am a crazy cat lady too....or is it more my husband who is (crazy cat guy)? rofl cat_rofl

Sadly, I've been here so long that the bugs blur. They happen, we complain, we move on. Although, now that I think about it, there is one pretty funny bug: the noob-wrangling god glitch. The one for achievements. It shows the user ID rather than the number of noobs quoted. So it'll be like "7400570, 25192193, 36428223 / 10" rather "3 / 10." It always make me laugh. It'd be nice if it could be fixed, especially after so long, but it's so silly that I can't even muster the energy to be bothered by it.

And eek. I've never been a Towns person but that sounds awful. I mean, it's a forum site! One of the major purposes is chat and to have it bugged like that is such a pity. Luckily, I missed the inventory loss one. Bet you're glad you did, too. It sounds pretty horrible. I can't even imagine the outcry if that happened now.

I was going to make a developer bug... but the glasses made me think Harry Potter, so I did that instead. xp But I also made a bug in what I think of as coding colors: black and a neon green.

Yes, I am really glad I missed the loss of all inventory collapse. I'm just waiting now to see what bugs show when they replace the current inventory system which is breaking down with the new one. It will also affect the mp, wishlist and trades, avies, pretty much most of the key areas. Giving Gaia's record, I expect things to be nonfunctional for a while with some bugs never fully fixed.
