Greetings and Happy New Year, Gaians!
Last month was certainly a busy one! We had our hands full with even more server upgrades. But now that those upgrades are complete, we can start off 2023 with long-awaited updates to our search engine. These changes should improve both forum and marketplace searches.
Speaking of the marketplace, we're very excited about a brand new feature: The Reverse Marketplace. With the Reverse Marketplace you'll be able to make offers on items that will be displayed on an item's Marketplace listing. We're currently in the internal testing phase and then we'll be sending it to SCAS, so we're hoping to have the feature go live very soon.
Daily Chance will be receiving its next update this month. We'll be removing a few irrelevant items that slipped through and also re-balancing how frequently both Go Fusion charms and platinum are granted. The promised Gaia Runway update is also still on the way! All we need is to finalize the UI assets and it'll be ready to go. You can expect to see the new and improved version of Runway launched within the next month.
As for Towns 3, we have decided that it is not currently up to our standards. That's why we've decided to enlist some additional help to get it there. We're sorry to have kept you waiting so long, but we don't want to release something that we can't 100% stand behind.
We recently removed the old 500-user limit from the friend- and ignore-list features. This change led to some unexpected bugs related to profiles, quoting, marriage, etc., but those issues have now all been dealt with. And in a future update, we'll add the option to follow both users and NPCs.
Although we weren't able to do the standard birthstone items this year, we still wanted them to continue in another form. Starting this month we'll be releasing the first in a year-long series of gemstone bunny flairs, as a nod to both the Year of the Rabbit and the birthstone tradition.
Next month will mark Gaia’s 20th Anniversary! Can you believe it?! Time sure does fly! In honor of this momentous occasion, we have planned a nostalgia-filled event that many of you have been asking about. We hope you'll enjoy this nostalgic celebration!

When you’re in your dress-up, you can equip one of these flairs, but it won’t show up on your avatar. Instead, it will be found in the forums next to your own username!
