Noir picked up the news paper, he and OK had decided to go to a diner for breakfast and he decided to read while sipping his coffee. The front page caught his attention, second time this month a child had been kidnapped for ransom. They had found the first one dead almost two weeks ago. If there one one thing Noir hated it was people who abused and killed children. He had been itching for this case since he had first heard about it. According to the paper they now had a name, David Gieger. That was something he could work with.

He slammed down the paper to show OK, "We've got a name!", he he said with an almost angry enthusiasm showing her the paper.

Her finger absently tracing the rim of her coffee mug, OK had been staring out the window thoughtfully. Both Noir and she had very different relationships with death. While it served to flare his passion, she remained wholly unaffected. It was so much more simple to her- a logical inevitability. While she did have some disdain for those that did not wield it artfully, the emotion was far from contempt.

The rest of her body still, she rolled her eyes around to meet him, her gaze shaded by bright red bangs. Glancing briefly down at the paper without absorbing any of it's text she looked back at him like a patient parent indulging the excitement of a child.

"So, what are we still doing here?" She replied in an even tone. "I finally took my stitches out this morning and you know I'm aching for some action."

he was up and grabbed his coat in just a few seconds they were out the door, a dollar bill layed on the table.

"Alright we've got a name, David Gieger, now we need information. We should go to the bar, I may not like it but some of your contacts might have information my guys don't have yet."

He took off his badge and put it in his pocket as they hurried along.
Nothing on his mind but the hunt.

She arched an eyebrow, glancing over her shoulder at him as they exited. He was too single minded right now. If he was too direct with the boys at the bar they'd tag him as a cop right away. "You're going to draw more than enough attention with the mask alone. If you think you're going to get anything out of my kind of people you're going to need to play it cool."

There was a place not too far away, although OK knew it's proprietor might be less than happy to see her. She figured it was best to keep that piece on information to herself for now.

"A change of dress then?" he said with a smirk on his face.
I guess we'll have to go back to the hotel."
She'd never seen him without his mask before, perhaps it was about time.
Luckily the hotel was in the same direction they had already been going and they got there in only a few short minutes.

OK didn't reply, but there was something distinctly salacious in her smile as she unlocked the door to the room. She been focused on healing the past few weeks and hadn't been able to show her usual aggression. Knowing his focus was on the job at the moment, she tossed the debate over in her mind for about as long as it took to close the door behind them.

Grabbing him by his tie she pushed his back up against the door and with her free hand peeled back the mouth of his mask, a task she'd become rather nimble at, to steal a kiss.

The kiss came as a complete surpise, but a very welcome one.
It was good to see her in her usual playfully aggressive mood again.

They lingered there kissing and enjoying each others company.
She had his complete attention.

They been traveling together for a while now, longer than she'd stopped to be with anyone in a long while and certainly the longest she'd wanted something she couldn't have. Pulling back for air, she tugged gently on his lower lip with her teeth.

"Didn't you say you wanted to change?-" The redhead teased, a smirk playing on her lips.

"Quite right," he said as he slid off his tie, a smile on his face.
He took off his jacket and flung it onto the rooms only chair, then started to unbutton his shirt while still kissing her.

The tone of his voice only served to feed her ravenous tendencies and she tore the shirt off his shoulders to get at his skin. The idea that the man under her mouth was the one entrusted with the task of bringing her to justice more than appealed to her sense of rebellion.

She seriously considered if making a life out of hunting killers, paired with these pleasant intermissions, was something she could settle into.

He could see the raging passion in her eyes as their kiss intensified, he moved her onto the bed.
Noir then pulled the handcuffs out of his back pocket, "my turn," he said with a smirk on his face.

She was everything he never knew he wanted.
Noir wanted this way of life to last forever.

--------------------------some time later--------------------------

Noir looked in the mirror shaving, his hair still wet from his morning shower.
After he finished shaving he took out the hair gell he had bought for just such rare occasions and went about slicking back his thick black hair. After that he took down and dawned the black suit he had hung in the bathroom earlier. He knew OK would be awake soon and wanted to be ready before her curiosity got the best of her. He finished dressing and was putting on the red tie he had brought as he walked out the bathroom door into the rest of the motel room.

Yet again she woke to the sound of water running. It still amazed her how he was able to slip out bed without waking her. OK twisted around, her lithe frame tangled in the bedsheets, wanting to linger in her feeling of satisfaction. Unfortunately, it was time to get back to the task at hand before Gieger got too far ahead of them again. She lifted her head and pushed back her curls, which currently looked more than slightly tussled, to the sight of an unmasked man in the room.

"Noir....?"

"Morning Sweetheart," he said as he finished with his tie.
"You said blend in so here I am, what do you think?
Donovan Noir, at your service," he finished the statement with wink and a smile.

He was a lot more nervous than he looked, what would her reaction be?
With her there was no telling, you just had to take the leap and hope for the best.

A face and a first name? It was like meeting a stranger.

A stranger with incredibly good bone structure.

After knowing him for so long as a masked man she'd expected him to be horrifically burned, maybe scarred, blind in one eye, something that would justify hiding his face. That could only mean it was something else, something in past. That was almost worse.

She stared a him for a long time without saying anything. Trying to work past the disbelief.
