Tobias was pissed. Not just any pissed either, it was the kind of pissed that made people ready for crime of passion. And what would make him so mad that he would kill for it you ask? Well a couple of things really. He had been dating this girl for three months, and if she thought things were going too far she would push him away saying she wasn’t ready. That he could’ve lived with. No, the real problem was that he had found out she was having sex with his now ex-best friend. Typical right? He had a book report to turn into a teacher that quite literally hated him. (His wife had come onto Tobias- Not that that jerk had believed the him.) And to top it all off, his job at the cake shop had gotten even more degrading. As impossible as that sounded. They were trying to get him to wear a pink apron. A regular apron, like white or something would’ve been just peachy with this guy. But pink? Damnit! Being Bi did not constitute to being gay and liking that crap! Damn idiots at work… Needless to say, his life was just plan shitty right now.

The young man let his head bang against the front door to his shared apartment in exasperation. He was pretty sure that his day was about to get worse, he just knew it. Confirmation on his suspicions where found when Tobias found a bra and random pieces of clothes scattered about the apartment. He just had to have the slut for a roommate right? Thankfully she was in her own room this time and not trying anything dirty in his. He did, however, hide some of his nicer clothes just in case Amanda decided to let whoever was in there with her help himself to Tobias’s clothes. Anyway, Tobias grabbed a mesh shirt and a navy blue undershirt, tugging them on as well as dark denim jeans, finished off with his usual black sneakers. In the low lighting of where he was going, it wouldn’t really matter what he wore anyway. The young man grabbed his shoulder pack- that held his wallet, cell phone, a pocket knife and a few other essentials- and was out the door again.

It was a short walk from his apartment to the bar where he normally went after work. Just as the sun was going down and lighting the scene of concrete, mesh fences, and the graffitied buildings with a soft golden glow, making the run down street look almost nice. Of course the natural glow gave way in favor of a harsher neon one, proclaiming the place a Bikini Bar. Why he came here was an odd reason, not for dancing half naked girls, nor for getting drunk or any of the usual things. He came here because the bartender was an old friend and was the only guy in the entire city that seemed to actually give a damn about plants and people. A real environmentalist he was.

Morning Isaac.” Tobias muttered, sliding into the seat in front of an average looking guy with a wine glass.

“Ah, I know that look on your face. What troubles you today friend?” That made Tobias day a little better, something about the man’s quirky accent and knowing kind and caring aura just seemed to do that. So what could he do but tell him the problems? Unloading on someone that cared was soo much better than trying to deal all alone and become an angsty mess. After he finished they talk for a while longer, well into the night before Tobias decided it was time to go home. He paid for the two drinks he had had, before starting towards the door with a good-bye to Isaac.

Rosetta woke that morning with the thought that her day would be normal, no dangers, no going out of her little fairy village. She was wrong. Big time. In fact everything she had expected of the day was wrong. Once she was dressed in a dress made from all materials from the forest in which her little village lived in. It was a small dress made of rose petals. She, along with the rest of her fellow fairys, were small. The tallest being four inches tall and the smallest being two. She was in the middle being a nice three inches tall. Though of course they could go to a normal human size if they wanted, but most chose to stay small to hide from the humans easier.

Walking out of her small hut, at the top of a tall tree, she smiled seeing her friends. She went about her normal duties, plying about the trees, her long red-ish hair sitting nicely between her wings as she flew. She talked with her friends and laughed, like normal people would act. But it was then that she received a summonce from the prince that she was needed. After hearing what she was needed for, she could have flipped out. Going into the human city?! But she didn't argue.

After changing size from three inches to five feet tall. She was now wearing a simple white dress and simple brown sandles. Her wings were folded against her back under the dress to be hidden from the humans. And her waist length red hair covered whatever the dress didn't and it did an excellent job of covering her pointed ears.

She had spent the entire walking through the city looking for the princes object and still hadn't found it! She was getting angry now. Especially since it was night now and she didn't want to go back empty handed yet. Though it didn't help that the prince told her not to come back until she found it. Sighing she sat down on a bench outside some buildings. One having an annoying bright sign outside.

Groaning she rubbed her sore wings through the dress. She had never kept them hidden for so long so they were getting stiff and sore. After a few minutes of sitting she decided to go in search of an inn. She had been given only twenty-dollars to spend in the city from the prince. Yeah they had gathered some human many but not much. So she hoped that it would be enough. If not she'd have to go back home and come back in the earily morning.

Standing up she sighed and tossed her hair back over her shoulder so that it was on her back. She made sure that her ears were covered as well before she moved into any light. Walking down the street she could hear people yelling from inside the building with the annoying sign, but she ignored it. The fairy needed to find to a place to sleep and stretch her wings.

Tobias almost got out of there without a hassle. Of course with the way his luck had been going lately, it didn't surprise him in the least when something went wrong. A light drunken giggle came from his side, and like anybody would, Tobias turned just in time to catch some drunk blonde so she didn't fall flat on her pretty face. That wasn't the problem, the problem was she wrapped her arms around his neck and began giggling and saying something with a slurred voice- and the even bigger problem of the strong jealous boyfriend that was coming over to punch his lights out for touching his girlfriend... So Tobias did the only intelligent thing he could at the moment- Drop the girl and run for all he was worth. (Which sometimes didn't feel like much mind you.) And of course the guy had to have three big buddies with him that were ready to help the first guy and his girl. And of course they couldn't just let the poor b*****d that just happened to be the one to catch her run away without giving a chase. And of course only a few moments after he raced form the club he had to run into some random girl walking away from the club.

Tobias groaned and was about to apologize for running into her, when he heard the yells of the men that were coming after him. “s**t! Sorry, but-” He blurted before grabbing her arm and pulling her down the sidewalk and around a corner into a dark alleyway that would hopefully hide them until the guys passed. As quietly as possible, he motioned for the red headed girl to be quiet and pressed himself flat against the wall. Thankfully the guys were not exactly the brightest blubs in the bunch and passed them right over. He waited a few moments before peeking out too see if they were gone. They were. Tobias sighed in relief and peeled himself away from the wall and stepped back out into the light of a street lamp.

Sorry 'bout that. I've just been having this string of really bad luck lately. ” He apologized, rubbing the back of his neck. “So if there's anything I can do for you, you'd better tell me now before something else bad happens.” That didn't sound crazy at all did it? Bad luck streak was still going extremely strong. Tobias shifted uncomfortably and waited for whatever the girl said, even if it was to say he was crazy and she was calling the police on him. (Which he totally expected to happen.)

Rosetta had heard some more yelling coming from the building with the annoying bright light but she just ignored it. Figuring it wasn't any concern of hers what the humans did. Really the fairy would prefer it if all the humans left so she could live in peace without running around and hiding from them all the time. Who wants to live their whole life like that? In her eyes humans weren't any where near the status they put themselves at. Most think that their the alphas in the world but really they're not.

The fairy girl was pulled from her search for a place to stay when something suddenly hit her and knocked her to the ground. Once she was standing again she looked at the human male who had done it, only to be pulled quickly down the sidewalk and into a dark alley. Is this a common thing to do to someone you just ran into?! Looking at him she sighed and cursed in her head. Why did this have to happen now? Watching as some men ran by them she grew confused.

Watching as the male looked out and stepped into the light once again. She stayed in the shadows while he spoke, making sure that her pointed ears were still covered. Once she was sure that they were she looked at man again. Smiling slightly as he mentioned him doing something for her. Stepping out into the light to she smile poiletly. "It's no problem. It was an accident and I'm not hurt. And actually there is something. I'm not from around here and I'm in need of a place to stay. Do you know where I could find an Inn of some sort?" She said keeping up the smile. Any normal person would have probably yelled at the man for what had just happened but she was too tired to really care about anything but finding a place to sleep.

Tobias blushed as the red head stepped into the light and he realized she was pretty. For whatever reason he had a hard time talking to pretty girls. And now was no exception. However, the way she was speaking reminded him of Isaac, which made it a little easier to look her in the eyes and not do something even more stupid.

Sure; go back down that way about half a block and turn left when you get to the Mac Donalds.” He point back down the way she had come, then let his hand fall to his side again. “I hope you find what your looking for.” He added, nervously reaching up to rub at a piercing in his left ear. It was a simple band of sliver- but if you were to look closer you would be able to see little markings at the sides. “Goodnight; And be careful! There are a lot of crazies in the city.” He added after an awkward pause. Blushing again before shuffling around her to head back to the apartment.

Rosetta noticed that the male blushed seemed a bit nervous, so she smiled nicely at him, hopeing to ease his nerves a bit. Hearing the directions she made sure to memorize them as best as she could. Looking back at him with a nod she smiled. Noticeing that he was playing a piece of silver in his ear.

Moving some as he shuffled around her, she sighed and looked back at the walk she was going to do. "Thanks for your help. Maybe I'll see you around the city sometime." She said with a smile and a small wave before turning and walking down the street.

Tobais smiled a bit after her and sighed with relief. Maybe his luck was changing! Though such a stupid theory was almost immediately crushed when he made it back to the apartment and he found his idiot roommate passed out right in front of the door for any creeper to come and molest her while she was out of it. Now, being the nice guy Tobais was, he wasn't going to just leave her there, but this poor guy wasn't catching any breaks as she woke up and started thrashing, thinking he was a rapist or something. Eventually he got them both inside and dumped Amanda on her bed before going to his room and flopping down on his own. “I hate my life...” He grumbled quietly before passing out himself from exhaustion.

The nest morning was no better. The first thing Amanda did when she saw him was smack him across the face, shrieking that she wasn't going to let him manhandle her like that. Tobais just took a deep breath and let it go. She just didn't know any better. (At least that's what he repeated to himself as she followed him around lecturing on how not to touch a woman.)

Eventually he was able to shrug off her and her misplaced nagging as he wandered out of the apartment. Today was his day off and Tobais was planning on the same routine he did every day off- head to the park with some bad coffee and watch the day pass him by with no worries. He had no where he needed to be, no one that needed him, it was just him and the almost fresh outdoors. With a sigh he settled on his usual park bench with his bad coffee and relaxed for the first time since last week.

Rosetta eventually found the inn and got checked in, thankfully it didn't cost more than what she had. She slept soundly through the night and only woke up when she rolled over on her wings wrong. The next morning she woke up and went back into town and started searching for the princes jewel that he wanted so badly.

Walking through town, she wore the same white dress she wore the night before, not having time to get another one, other the money, so she was stuck with it though she kept her wings hidden. Walking down street after street she grew tired and decided to go to a park she had come across. Sitting down on a bench she sighed and and ran a hand through her red hair she rolled her shoulders some to adjust her already cramped up wings.

Tobais was finally beginning to relax. His head was titled over the back of the bench to cut off enough blood so the world could just fall away. Though with the way his luck was going, he would end up brain damaged this way. But honestly, at this point in his life, it would probably be better to live brain dead than with the bad-luck streak he'd been going through. However, Fate seemed to either have it out for him, or ready to give him a break when he felt someone sit down beside him. Because when he looked up, it was the same red-headed girl from the night before.

Quickly he straightened and clutched tightly at the cup containing the awful coffee. “Umm... Hello.” Tobais coughed nervously. It had to be coincidence that she'd sat down here, after all no one in their right mind would intentionally sit down by the guy that looked like he was trying to use the bench to cut his head off. Or (more likely) she had realized that she was mad at him after all for knocking her down, or (even more likely) she didn't even see him and wouldn't remember his face.

Rosetta had her eyes closed while she attempted to help her cramped up wings without taking them out of the dress. When she suddenly heard a man's voice she let out a surprised yelp and jumped a foot in the air. Looking at the man sitting next to him she sighed and put a hand to her chest, where her now pounding heart was. "Sorry, you surpirsed me." She said with a small smile at him. Just then noticing that it was the same man as the night before she smiled at him. "Oh! It's you! I'm sorry, I didn't see you sitting here. It's been a long, dissapointing day for me." She said with a small sigh dropping her hand to her lap. "I can go if you want." She added looking around the park for another bench, in case he did actually want her to leave.

Tobais blushed and stammered an apology for the surprise. Oops. Two seconds and he'd already screwed up. Perfect. Though the 'I didn't see you' was pretty much what he figured she would say, it was still a bit of a stab to the head. “I know the feeling...” He added in sympathy when she mentioned a disappointing day. Still nervous, he rubbed the silver earring that he was wearing to calm the nerves.

Huh!?” Where did she get the idea he wanted her to go? And what was with that sad look? He'd never said anything about her leaving, if anything he'd be happy if she'd stayed and gave him a little friendly company. That is if she wanted to stay on this bench with the crazy guy. “No! I mean... Um, you can stay here.... if you want..” Mumbling that last part and running his fingers over the earring and tugging at it from nerves.

Rosetta looked at the man with a soft smile hearing that he didn't mind her staying. Nodding she relaxed against the bench and sighed, her wings still complaining about being folded up for so long. Looking at him she noticed that he was tugging on an earring she smiled and looked up at the sky. "Do I make you nervous or are you just a nervous person?" She asked with a soft small looking over at him now. running a hand over her ears to make sure that they were covered completly and hidden from sight.
