Faith: -noun- Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. (American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition)

an Intellectually Dishonest definition of Faith, that is a perversion of what the word actually means. Not to mention an Appeal to Authority.

Faith is An Oath of Trust. In the Religious Sense, it is an oath of Trust to the "proofs" one has been given Of Metaphysical Validity.

And why are we debating this?

Because he tried to say that Lucifer was created By John Milton. It wasn't.

Humans cannot possibly 'define' Satan/Devil/Lucifer because it is impossible. If we could fully understand, we would not be human, we would be gods.

What an Intellectual Cop out, an a Load of Bullshit.

If your Beliefs are undefined they are meaningless......They DO have Definitions, they are defined.

The only entity in your Religion that is Ineffable is God.
Allow me to post something the OP might find interesting...This is an older version, but still works.

Elf Lord Chiewn
A condensed treatise on the non-existence of hell as a Christian concept.

Revision this September 28, 2006

No, you are not going to hell. Even if assuming Christianity to be valid, hell is not a valid concept, the word itself having been borrowed (read:stolen) from Hel, the Norse goddess of the underworld and having no basis within a Christian framework.

The concept of a fiery eternal torment is a wink and a nod to Dante's The Divine Comedy (more specifically, Inferno), a fictional story that is, for all ostensible purposes, a marvelously-woven political commentary.

What usually translates as hell is Sheol, the Judaic grave or netherworld intermediary; Gehenna, named after a trash heap outside Jerusalem, Hades, a direct bite from Greek mythology; and Tartarus, another direct bite from Greek mythology, but taken to mean the abode of certain non-human creatures.

Sheol is relatively nondescript, Gehenna is specifically mentioned as a destination for trash (and some snakes, according to Yeshua ben Yosef), Hades is effectively undefined, though since the New Testament was written in Greek, it was likely used as a blanket reference to the afterlife or underworld. Note that Hades is the only destination for the dead in Greek mythology, and encompasses paradise and eternal torment. Tartarus, located below Hades, is home to the mythological creatures which have special punishment, such as Sisyphus, who, according to legend, is and will be rolling a big rock around for all eternity.

In a word, the popular English biblical translations are mistranslations, and hold no sway. The most that is reasonable to expect is a trip to Sheol someday, which is where everyone visits regardless of righteousness or unrighteousness. The lake of fire, which spells death for those cast into it, may be a quick demise for false prophets as well, but it is meant for the non-human, such as angels.

Moreover, I sincerely doubt that Hel would care about a newcomer if one did somehow manage to wind up in Helheim, the Norse abode of oath-breakers, people who died in their beds, and people who met their demise in ridiculous fashion. Of course, escape without her consent is simply not an option. In the words of the conductor, it's the end of the line.
This is a Roschachs test, right?
'Cause I can't see d**k.

Sure as hell doesn't look like Lucifer or anything else to me. Looks like a bunch of rock formations that could, conceivably, be interpreted to look like a face.

STFU, OP.
Okay. I'll bite. I see your geological structures that vaguely resemble Satan and raise you this! It is none other than the Eye of the Wyrm, the embodiment of destruction, who shall some time soon attempt to destroy Gaia and all life in the universe.
i still fail to see anything resembling lucifer on google earth

i think what happened was you got yourself very involved with the concept of demons and hell and by the time you saw these images those things were the only thoughts on your mind! so in turn, you interpreted them as being demonic images when in fact, they are not.

the human mind is a gloriously complex thing. what i do know is that many times people's brains will try to make sense out of confusing images by giving them characteristics of things we already know...

so, for example, i migght say i see the face of the virgin mary in my oatmeal but there is no virgin mary there... the reality of the matter is i have had 13 years straight of catholic schooling so the image of the virgin is very ingrained in me so when i see globs of oatmeal in my bowl that resembles a humanoid figure, i might place that with the figure commonly given to the virgin mary in drawings and statues and paintings.

And what the hell is this referring to/what do you mean by this?

I had never said that my beliefs are not defined. I was simply stating that you had attempted to define something you yourself do not believe in, therefore you could not possibly come up with a correct definition... you assume many things that aren't covered in textbooks regarding the different denominations of Christianity.

You, sir, I BELIEVE, are a very angry person needing something to argue about. I support the fact that you defend YOUR beliefs. Please don't try to convert everyone to what YOU believe. It won't happen.
So. Aren't you going to trek over there? Or are we supposed to depend on speculation?
psh. idk. idrc. but i think the revalation is a mad mans idea.. it was written in hatred for nero, or, 'the beast' known as 666.

Baal, Beelzubub, etc. were Pagan gods.

Wrong, They were Early Judaic/ Canaanite Gods.

I can not tell you how much I laughed at this remark!

(I am a christian)

you sound like a christian who is obviously unaware of her own religion's origins and real doctrines.

Thank you, But allow me to ask...Have you been to the Google Earth Location in MAuritania Afrika or to the Blog I created?
Yes, *I* have. To be frank, man, I do not see what half the pictures are talking about, nor how they relate, save VAGUELY and with some imagination, to the verses you quote. I just do not see how this is supposed to be the End Times, especially in the absence of half the things which seem to be necessary accordiing to Revelation (so much MORE, some of it quite obvious) is supposed to occur before Appolyon sweeps across the Earth. Sorry stare .

Baal, Beelzubub, etc. were Pagan gods. The Beast isn't Satan, but one of his lackeys. The False Prophet is Satan. Lucifer might be the Beast.
Beelzebub means The Lord of the Flies (The Book of the same name by Golding took the translation)

The Lord of the Flies is basically the personification of rotting flesh.
I have just finished reading page 1 and I am Impressed in a very big way, this is the smartest group of people that I have encountered. You guys are about 95% correct. sweatdrop

Actually, I think that Beelzubub is a corruption of Beelzuveel. The latter means something close to Lord of High Places as an epithet to Baal, while Beelzubub means Lord of Flies, meant to insult and ridicule people who followed the Baals.

I agree
