Just because a few of them have had sex with young children and done some other ******** up things in the past doesn't mean you should post trolling and just plain hatin' on the catholics. Not all of them are crazy drug addicts that can't get laid.

while I agree with your statement, I think it was a little misplaced...see chicky here (Surf Kitty) isn't saying that Catholics aren't Christian because their preists have sex with kids, she's saying they aren't Christian because they "worship" saints and "dance pagan dances" around the Pope's hat.

Or, to put it more succinctly, Surf Kitty (gods, I hate that her handle could be appliccable to me) is basing her statement on utter bullshit.
Pretty much that's what I was saying without having to say it.

Catholics are christians. Catholics were just the first types of christians.

No, more the first organized and structured branch.

Ever hear of the Gnostics?

Paul and John certainly weren't Catholics either.

Considering that the first Christians were... what? What's that? They were what religion?

JEWISH

Seems that gnostics and Catholics both are a wee bit younger.

The Jews are not christian so I fail to see your point.

I never said that, but Catholics worship Saints, AND god, which is not alright by the ten commandments.

well, darling, Catholics DON'T worship Saints.

Praying to someone to talk to God and full blown worship are two completely different things.
and Catholics actually say "DO NOT WORSHIP SAINTS!"

To say and do are two different things. I have been to a catholic church sermon before, and catholic mass on christmas, it is quite clear they have crossed the line between respect anf worship.

They can pray to god directly can't they? Why do saints need to be the middlemen?

again, because Catholics believe that praying to a Saint is a way of getting more help on your side

I am not saying I agree with it

but they don't worship saints, they worship God, and by praying to Saint Christopher and Saint Mary Catholics are hoping that the Saints will pass their prayer onto God and God will have heard the prayer twice, once from the Catholic and once from a Saint, and God will think "Hmm...this Saint wants the prayer answered too..."

do you get my drift?
did you know that Jesus is JEWISH!!!!!!! omg! So you fail talk2hand

if you wanted to follow your 'god' then become a jew (no offense taken to anyone).

Your just pissed cuz us catholics fed you christians to the lions long ago talk2hand

The first Christians (got that part okay?) were Jewish.

Still having trouble?

The original followers of Jesus' teachings were Jews. He preached to Jews, within the context of Judaism. It was Paul who decided that gentiles could become Christians without having to become Jewish first.

Perhaps soem catholics take it that way, the point i'm trying to make is that other catholics take it TOO FAR.

Okay, it's clear that everyone who's voting that Catholics are Christian didn't read what I wrote. God didn't put any Catholics in the Bible! rolleyes I think everyone who's a lost sheep needs to visit this site:

http://www.chick.com

It's not too late to save yourselves from the hold that Whore of Babylon (Catholic church) has on you! Repent and turn from the demoness who wants you to suck at her tit.

I hope this entire thread is a joke. I really do. Looks like it because:-
a) You say "God didn't put any Catholics in the Bible." Were you aware that there were not any Christians until after the resurrection? The term "Catholic" didn't exist until a good while after this either. I'm scared of going into too much detail here in case you don't understand me.
b) Still with me? Your imperative commanding lost sheep to visit chick.com is disturbing. Anyone, including Christians, who has ever even glanced at it knows that it is propaganda aimed at malleable minds like your own.
c) The Catholic Church is the Whore of Babylon? Really? Where's the evidence for this. We would all love to hear it. biggrin
d) Your general language and attitude serves to suggest you are not a Christian. They tend to shy away from the word "tit" and such. Your blind hatred of anyone else's religion but your own is really quite pathetic. Are Christians not to love their neighbours as themselves?
e) You have "69" in your screen name. You better be married if you practice should wicked acts.

no Jews are not Christians, but the first people to become Christians were Jews who followed Jesus CHRIST

thus the title Christians
but faolan is correct in saying that the first Christians were Jews

Um... dipshit? The pagan Romans fed Christians to lions.

Speaking of failing...
Yes they are, there are no pagan dances, don't know where you got that from, and nope... Catholics don't worship the virgin Mary over God nor Jesus...

Catholicism is Sect of Christianity... And the Christianity you most likely are talking about is a result of protesting Catholics... reformed at lest twice over the years...

Protestant Christians are a sect of a sect based on Judaism...

As to the "save your souls" thing... talk2hand o thanks.

In the beginning, select Jews were Christians, namely those who followed Jesus. But then St. Peter (aka Saul) came along and changed things a bit and non-Jews became Christians as well.

I seriously hope you're a troll, because I often have trouble believing that people like you are for real.

Yes, Catholics are Christian. They believe in the Judeo-Christian god, they believe Jesus is his son, died for their sins, and rose again. In my mind, that's pretty much the definition of Christian in my mind.

They do venerate the saints and the Virgin Mary, but they don't worship them. Yes, they pray to them. But they believe this is part of their connection to God.

Just because someone doesn't worship like you, that doesn't mean they aren't still Christian.

some MUSLIMS take it TOO FAR!
some BAPTISTS take it TOO FAR!
some AMISH, JEWISH, and SCIENTOLOGISTS take it TOO FAR!!

Everywhere you look, SOMEONE is going to break the rules. But to condemn the whole group of people is wrong, totally wrong, because, luvs, that would be like saying all Germans are anti-semite because Hitler hated Jews.

*sigh*

Statement: The first Christians were Catholic.
Rebuttal: Gnostics predate Catholics.
My point: Jewish Christians predate both.

It's really a simple statement, not meant to alter your tenets or beliefs. It's merely a statement of fact and really not difficult to comprehend.
