It's pointless to hold a whole swath of items 'hostage' because of the value of a select few that are otherwise irrelevant to most users.
It's really telling that the people against this tend to be vendors.

OP sounds like a beginning to the end kind of thing, opening the flood gates fer other types of releases. Ppl spent money for MCs not to be rereleased. People spent LOTS of money on tickets for those customs to not be rereleased. Where’s the line drawn?

The only items not allowed for rrs have their reasons, be they due to reasons from their ticket (which can be null and void should the submitting user be banned, as we've seen from some plat dolls) or sponsors, which are actually tied up in legitimate red tape. That's where the line is drawn, and it's drawn quite clearly.

As you specified, takes time. Most Gaia users are not children anymore who have tons of time on their hands and a mommy to spare some change for a pixelated item to make their offspring happy. RIG drops are low percentage luck. $150-200 for a halo? Uh okay, I guess some people really have way too much money but that's on them. I played LK for 3 months straight to save up for a halo around 3-4 years ago and I can tell you it's only because I was in a spot where I could do that and couldn't do anything else much in life. I'd never do that again, cause it's pointless.

Ultimately, doesn't matter what's in my inventory and how much it's worth at this point. I got a good amount of gold sitting there but who really cares in the end? I say let others get their desired items and enjoy themselves before it all disappears at one point. No need to keep anyone hostage over some virtual stuff. This is not specifically towards you, just voicing my mind in general.

Gold has lost all meaning on this site. Just re-release the items.
Not sure how popular the majority of them would be though, because art styles and colour schemes have changed drastically over the years.

To piggyback off Greed’s point, about 3-4 years ago when the halo was hovering around 6-7m plat, some random user made a very good point about how cheap the A. halo’s were at the time. Taking advantage of G-cash bonuses, I was able to buy and sell cash cards in the exchange until I had enough to start making offers to folks. Took roughly a month I think. Doing so again the same way would probably take about 3-5 months now. I’d say I brute forced my way into it while you did the f2p leg work, so props to you for that~.

I’m all for people wanting and having access to items that don’t show up anymore. Protagonist's Decision wasn’t even an MC and I had a wait years until Gaia re-released it in one of the shops because listings were extremely rare. Point being; specific rare MC’s it seems many people are wanting *are* available, they just don’t want to quest for them. I do think whatever method Gaia does end up choosing, everyone should temper expectations. They *do* factor in ABP value when they re-releases items in the angel shop, and Gaia’s not going to undercut themselves, lol.

Yes, yes, a hundred times yes. It isn't right that a small percentage of the gaiaonline userbase is sitting on a huge portion of the whole website's wealth in the form of valuable items such as MCs.

I'm laughing right now. The majority who say no to re-release are usually the same thing, hoarding vendors. I've pretty much been around since end of 03. The complaints have been the same. Just release them. Also, pay attention to non-MC items that have gone extinct. You simply cannot some items anymore. Check their, if you see it doesn't have one. Release it. There are many items heavily sought after that one simply cannot ever get their hands on.
